itachi really is disturbed by his obligations to his clan.....i guess in his terms of thinking he is being held back. I also think he killed shishu since shishu is a proud member of the clan...shishu must of said something to itachi and itachi must of disagreed then maybe a argument happened thus the death of shishu. Plus itachi most likely wrote that letter explaining his beliefs while using shishu hand writing.

but geez itachi i slowly going into madness (his speech toward his father was interesting) could it be that one of the reasons why he killed off his clan was because they found out he murdered his clan member thus making him even more angry and wanting to kill them all?

i hope next week we get to see why he left sasuke alive..i hope its because sasuke is the only one he loved and wants him to become strong (his version of strength.....being isolated and arrogant etc) 8)

um i dont think he killed his clansmen... it said he commited suicide... so maybe ITachi couldve used the weird mind thing on him wit his sharingan....

and maybe the effects were so great on his mind that he commited suicide... well thats my opinion

well itachi did say that the reason why he was not at the meeting was because he had a "mission to take care of" and when he said that he had a kind of evil face.

either way he had to have some part of it he seemed nervous that they were investigating the death (i guess he thought the killing was flawless and nobody would find or think anything)

lol, yes, that chapter was very interesting. I think he's going to leave Sasuke alive because of what he said to him last chapter...something about the two of them having to live together even if they hate eachother so they can break their barriers.

some of us that read the manga actually appreciate finding out the backgrounds to characters, rather that just non stop action which when over done becomes incredibly boring.

I agree I don't watch Naruto for just blunt action. I watch if because I have learned more about the characters and learned to love them. I like plot and the action is good too.

me neither, i luv the story, besides this thing about itachi.....it seems the most logical thing....he is a rebel, doenst like the boundries of law or clan honor, he simply wants to live the way he wants to live....so he kills them all, leves sasuke behind to have a rival....someone that has only one true reason...kill itachi...so that itachi wont think he can slack off

lol,I think the reason he got down on his knees was because of Sasuke...and he was all calm before because he always acts calm, so he was probably angry the whole time, but didn't show it for a while. He wasn't really sorry he was just saying that I think XP

itachi's past has a lot to do with the fight between naruto and sasuke. whith these memories we are learning hwat drives sasuke to want to kill itachi as well as why he is going to orochimaru, and him going to orochimaru is why there is a conflict now between naruto and sasuke.

if i would have been itachi i would have done the same thing. sons of bitches and their accusations. if anyone was arrogant they were. i like seeing the background of itachi and i hope the next chapter is more background.

when they say entire clan, you do realise this meant women children and babies right? he kille them all except for sasuke, the guy has no excuses.
There is of course my bias, i like neither sasuke or itachi..probably because they both look like girls :P but more so i dislike itachi because nothing ive seen YET justifys killing his entire clan, if it had been certain individuals then perhaps id shre your sentiments, but his mother seems nie enough for s start and like i say nothing will ever justify the murdr of children. :(

hmmm.. I might be reading to much into it, but I understand a bit of what the point Kishimoto had in regards to Itachi(like the point of the Zabu/Haku not being able to go without any emotion thing) except in this case it's going against tradition kinda like the current cultural reconstruction that is still happening in Japan and the constent rebellion of teens everywhere. Also I don't think that the flashback will be over untill the end of 224. So don't be to surprised if 223 ends in the middle of "that day".
