Could Orochimaru actually bring down Konoha?

The first time he tried he had the help of the Sand-Nins and even with the help of the Sand-Nins he failed. If he does somehow get enough force to form a Ninja army, could he really take on Konoha?

If he does try to destroy Konoha, even if he does find a way to restore his arms, he would be without

1. The Sand-Nins (I would doubt that any other Country would side up with Orochimaru)

2. A surprise attack ( He had the Chuunin exam to cover up his plans, after the Konoha invasion though, it seems that Konoha is more aware of his actions)

3. The 4 Sound-Nins with the Level 2 Curse (It seems that they're all dead... They made a barrier which stopped all help from the outside)

4. The only reason he won was because he used Kinjitsu which summoned the 1st and 2nd... Due to the 3rds Jutsu their souls are long gone which means it would be a 1vs1 fight with the 5th Hokage (Tsunade)

The only thing helping Orochimaru right now, is the strength of Konoha, even though they did suffer great lost, I am pretty sure that the Sound Nins suffered the same if not more losses.

I believe he could, but first he would have to attack with their strongest out of the way. divide and conquer.

I really don't think so. He at a point where he's backed into a corner with his arms in that condition and the only real person left by his side is Kabuto. With Kimimaru dead, Sasuke is his last hope. After Naruto wins (you KNOW he'd better!) against him, Oro doesnt have a prayer. Tsunade or Jiraiya will hunt him down and finish him off, (maybe after someone kills Kabuto, like Kakashi or something...) And as for any kind of attack, yes 1) Konoha is currently on guard and 2) Oro can't rally that kind of force anywhere (especially since now we know the Sand is going to help Konoha out a bit...)

I'd say it all depends on how and when he does it. If he either waited until after Konoha drop their guard or while their too busy, (like now,) he'd probably have half a chance. Plus he'd need some serious support because he'd have to deal with Tsunade and Jiraiya and Naruto and the Anbu. Other than that, he's got it easy.

He had trouble bringing down The third who is older then the crust between your toes. Now he would have to fight Tsunade and Jiraiya.

even with kabuto he wouldnt be able to defeat jiraiya and tsuande. Kabuto is kakashi's level so kakashi can just take him on

yeah you're right about that, I don't think kabuto stay on oro's side for free, and considering that we know he's one of the smartest shinobi of the manga (with shikimaru who rules them all !!!), it would'nt be surprising to learn that kabuto betrayed oro in a way or another...

no.... betrayal is probably the most evil thing sumonee can do... that is why orochimaru is such an evil person.. he betrayed his master, his village, the sand village, and all his lil followers..
kabuto is not that kind of person.. if he were goin to betray orochi
he would do it for sum really strong reason.

The only way oro can conquer, is everyone that's strong...dead. Then it be a piece of cake. But since konoho is such a strong village, it won't really fall so easily.

So realisticly No, if you see it as everyone like tsunade something like that dropped dead? then yes...yes he could.

IF tsunade had cured is arms he could personally have killed all of their shinobi... the 3rd was hokage for a reason...
He might have been able to take itachi if he was lucky... but that would probably involve crushing him with SUPAH huge snake... itachi is the sharingan succsessor, but oro is experienced...
anyway, oro could kill the shinobi there with his arms healed, but since the only one who could do that is now hokage of the village, i doubt it.

oh, and btw last week? he has occupied over half the series as main enemy... he still is
