This was a pretty good episode i should say despite some reused lines here and there.

Yeah. I like the idea of the Konoha ninja getting the chance to help the Sand. Plus, I think Shika has a thing for Temari. How nice. lol. Anyway, its a great opportunity to see Gaara fight for someone who he cares for, his student.

Finally the Jinjū Konbi Henge: Sōtōrō! Kiba said he was going to pull it out again, and he's already done it! Been waiting so long... And the fact that he pulled it off with seemingly little chakra drained my guess is that Chouji will be able to do the same with his Multi-Size jutsu. ^_^

Anyway so many great things could come from this arch.

Giant Chouji + Giant Two Headed Wolf = I'unno, something awesome!
Wonder what Ino's reaction towards Shikamaru and Temari will be.
Naruto hasn't do jack yet! Thank you! Hopefully Lee will do most of the fighting.

Anyway I think we are assured there will be no Naruto owning everyone this time. I doubt he'll finish anyone off at all.

Shikamaru taking out wind girl. Officially repaying Temari.
Kiba taking out gay snake kid. Officially repaying Kankouro.
Lee taking out armor dude. Officially replaying Gaara.
And the fourth baddy should be taken out by Gaara because in the end it's the kid who's being saved.

Plus from this I'm thinking that one of our friends will be seriously wounded. Not sure who though. I mean, brink of death wounded. Sakura will surely make a huge impact on the outcome.

I think this is the best filler arc. The only way they can screw it up is if Naruto finishes off the leader with rasengan. I want to see the leader get killed by Gaara's desert coffin.

Even though it wasn't exactly shocking or surprising to see who came to save who, it was still pretty good. Too bad Naruto and Lee messed up the rescue speech. ; )

Good episode. Having so many different fights took the focus off of the fact it's basically recycled previous episodes :P and cheesy overpowered enemies. But the Lee/Naruto thing at the end of the "Sand's allies" speech made me laugh out loud. Good stuff.

ps: bleach is outta fillers and freaking awesome so get back into it if you stopped watching. Major plot things going on which are damn cool.

Well, that's two episodes in a row now where they've started the show with a scene, then played the opening theme, like in a live action tv show. I like it that way, but it's an odd change.

I like how everybody is so in character, and how the writers actually seem to be THINKING of ways for them to use their abilities. The way Shino used his bugs was great.

wow! this ep was very, very well done. it was so good that halfway through it i was so absorbed into the story that the fact that it was filler never even ran across my mind once!!!! This filler arc has so much potential its almost bursting at the seams. If the remaining fillers are all as good as this it will be a lot easier waiting for february 15th XD.

very good episode, if this is the last arc which leads into the kakashi gaiden, I will be very happy. After all the crappy fillers, finally putting out a decent to well done arc(so far), this will be a nice transition back to the real story.

Anyway, what i was trying to say is that gaara should get to kill someone like he did in the chunnin exam, that was neat, with blood raining around and stuff.

i know this is a juvenile manga, but nowadays teenagers are much more acustomed to see blood in very large amounts, so why not?

Pros:
-We get to see all of the sand-3 have their own battle
- been set up so no matter what, naruto CAN'T beat everyone.
- Shika saves temari, Kiba saves Kankouro, a little predictable but cool nonetheless
- Kiba and Akamaru use the huge gatsuga(its been so long I cant even remember proper names). Seeing that got me super stoked.
- Apparently strong bad guys with relatively interesting techniques
- Gaara "you will pay with your life". Lines and atmosphere like that kill the kiddy atmosphere that the fillers have given Naruto.
- Naruto and Lee "Konoha Shinobi!...""we arent there yet" made me laugh out loud. That was one of the funniest naruto moments to date as far as Im concerned. The way they stopped the music and everything, perfect

Cons:
- Animation a tad choppy here and there
- fights were really rushed(altho this is a good thing in the sense that we get to hurry through fillers), but, when you have an arc that actually has some quality, mightaswell use it to the fullest... this couldve been a 10 ep arc easily.
- These filler badguys have cool techniques but Im not convinced that the sand-3 should be losing to them, at least, this decisively... lets not forget just how strong the sand3 really are.
- I wanted to see gaara finish that guy. oh well.
- not so much a con and theres a chance that I've overlooked something BUT, aren't they supposed to be in the sand country right now? Why are they in a forest? Just a thought, not a complaint.

Things to watch for:
- next fights, will they be overhurried? will we get to see some good action from the other characters or will they rush them through
- gaara vs. naruto: who will bring back the kid? Really, it should be gaara, but in accordance with filler history, naruto will probably save the day. But it should be gaara.
- great arc so far... lets pray for continued awesomeness

Very nice to see the emotional side of Gaara, almost like their building some emotional ties to companionship again. (ie. Sasuke/Naruto) Further than that, I wish they'd draw out the eps, this would be really really good if they went back to the old style eps, where they'd devote an entire 20mins to each battle.

As for the cons keep in mind these things.

Temari is about Chuunin level at this point. Well if a Jounin level wind user fights her then she's a tad screwed. Typically you could use whatever you specialize in to it's max and beat out your opponent. But this girl is just a better wind user. Sort of simular to how good a shinobi Tenten is. She's a good enough ninja to at least land a hit on Temari. But they were simply mismatched.

Kankurou, well is abit pudgy. lol Without his puppets he's not exactly... good as for as I can tell anyway. He simply tricked him into wasting a puppet early. From that point on he was at a disadvantage.

Gaara is actually up against someone who can't be harmed by his sand. What else does he have going for him? That weapon the kid was using? Eh, probably the next fight. ^_^ But my thoughts are Lee will go in with no chakra and beat the armor off him and Naruto will finish with the his ever-so whored out jutsu. Gaara runs off to own the final baddy.

In the end, even if these three were better, the enemy has studied them and counter picked them you could say.


And as for the local, I believe in the beginning they made it known that they were chased out of the Land of Wind.

However I will honestly say that I wouldn't mind if they postponed the main arch if they had every intention of making this into the amazing arch it has the potential to be. No joking.

What else, what else...

Ah as for Kiba's Jinjū Konbi Henge: Sōtōrō, I think this one is sort of like a partial sized one. He wasn't nearly as big as before. I really hope it's not the animators screwing up. However it would also be nice if we see him pull it out.

As for the battles... I can't imagine Chouji and Kiba vs. gay-kid being that hard. I can see either Chouji or Kiba taking him out on their own. Same for the big guy Gaara's fighting. But The issue of who Sakura heals still comes up. I'm certain she will in some way heal someone. So this really only leaves two possbilities in my mind. Either she'll heal Shikamaru or Temari (which may make Ino respect her more as we've saw in "Konoha 11"), or she'll be saving Gaara or the kids life at the very end of the arch. I'm confused as to what Shikamaru will do next. Temari may be in no condition to fight. Ino and Shikamaru need to be close to the opponent to do anything, but when she can keep people away from her what's the threat? I'm sure Shikamaru will think of something but apart from that I don't see the other battles being as closely fought.

Final thought; I like the fact that it will be two shinobi saving one sand each. If they didn't do that that it would seem as though the Konoha genin are stronger then the Suna. And here's another fun fact. Whenever in the very beginning of a filler arch, someone reminds Naruto that he's NOT the leader, he doesn't save the day. It's happened a couple times, most notably the bug arch. *Kiba saves Hinata.* *Shino devises the winning stratedgy and pulls it off.* *Hinata pwns ALL of the bad guys.* On top of that I would think that the ones who were actually saved will have the finishing blows. (Shika, Kiba, Lee.)

Based on the map at the beginning, it appears that they're in a country between Wind and Fire.

The Wind country is probably more than just desert anyway, though. The village is "hidden in the sand", not necessarily the whole country.

I wonder how the "vanished artisan" and the village Kakashi was in from last episode tie into all this.
