Bleach and Naruto to be delayed!

January 12, 2007

Attention all Bleach fans!

For the next few weeks, Bleach will most likely be delayed for a day. Due to recent changes in staff schedule, and some staff members being unavailable, there is no way we can release in the current limited timeframe.

We will, of course, do our best to bring high quality subs to the fans within a reasonable timeframe. But for the next few weeks, please bear with as we adjust to this change.

And for the love of god, stop sending us feedback asking if we're dropping Bleach! Or feedback criticizing our incredibly long 2 day releases. Yes, I know, how ghastly of us to keep you waiting for a day. We should all just kill ourselves now.

Also be advised that Naruto will be delayed until it is released because all of the asinine feedback has driven our translators insane and they are locked in their rooms refusing to come out. DO NOT send us feedback asking when it will be out.

TOPIC: Im excited to see this episode, hopefully we will get more gaara and less naruto. It would suck if they pussified gaara though.. I mean sure, hes been changed by Naruto's heart etc, but that doesnt mean he's a nice guy now... hes still cold-ol' gaara. Sortof what happened to Neji... since fillers started he basically lost his personality. He is just ... there ... now to occasionally byakugan and tell everyone what he sees.

I mean, it wouldnt be that unruly for them to just not even have any konoha in this arc... just a gaara/temari/kankouro arc. Please.

Well, good ep. I liked it. Going after Shukkaku...kind of like....SPOILER!! WHAHAHA! No, but I do like how they're diversifying the plot a bit right now. Much better to have that than to just have the same thing go on over and over. Finally a character who hates violence instead of the world, how is Naruto gonna' reach her?

Anyways, I'd like to see Garra just go ballistic on them and destroy the countryside in doing so.

Probably the best beginning of an arc for a long time... mostly because we get to see some new faces

Pros:
- Some new faces
- get to see our new faces(well... gaara and co) actually do something without naruto getting involved right away
- kakashi acting alone... NO NARUTO!
- gaara as a mentor=very cool
- 4 new bad guys... plus 11 konoha genin... if they find a way to have naruto beat all 4 of them, I will kill myself. Hopefully gaara will get the final showdown, or at least play a part in it. Get to see some other nin do something too hopefully. I'd be stoked on seeing kiba get a 1 on 1 with someone.

- havent forgotten about gaara being hated, play that in

Cons:
- weve had lots of great starts and lots of shitty finishes
- filler animators are terrible at drawing up new characters... I dont like the way any of the new villians look. They really should hire someone who can do a better job
- The kid with a hard past. Like, I understand its to teach us something or make us feel bad for him but its just so overdone now.
- gaara is hated, but its so cliche. "my dad said gaara was the sands ultimate weapon, I am going to go with someone else". Just... shitty script writing.
- the bad guys challenging gaara better be super fucking strong, none of this dumbing down characters to make the fights even that we see all the time. if they are going to give him a run for his money, they better be fucking raging good. Lee, sasuke, naruto and Kimimaru have been able to give us a good fight vs gaara. And that was them going all out. If we get some bullshit where the enemies use a... throwing knives attack or something along those lines and gaara has trouble, I will be so mad.

Things to watch:
- Most of my cons are related to how they move from here, whether they do a good or bad job.
- In other words, we are off to a good start, hopefully they wont drop the ball
- Other characters involvement: Will someone else get their own fight or will naruto spotlight again?
- badground on the new characters... will they find a way to make it A LITTLE interesting or will it be sleepdom again?

Yeah Tenten seems to be the only genin having fun on a mission of her own. 'Was probably kissing Tsunade's butt for a mission.

Anyway I love how we see Kakashi being himself. The dogs are awesome too.

Gaara shows that he actually knows how to be a ninja. He seems nice and is being treated as the Kazekage or something. What's up with that? Kankurou seems like he'd make a great Baki-ish Jounin leader some day. Temari is just classic Temari.

Naruto annoys me still. The Sakura/Shikamaru joke was funny aswell. I'm really happy with the massive amount of characters used.

I sorta wanted to see Ino and Kiba be paired off. You know those two couldn't get along if left alone long enough. But in the end I love how Shikamaru grouped them together. Including the scouting team. If anything the team we are following is the anti-ambush squad. We may get to see Neji or Hinata be maimed just so Sakura can heal them. lol My guess is for Kiba though. He doesn't seem to find it very important to avoid getting stabbed.

All in all I can't wait. I'm actually very excited about this arch, the following 'G'bye ya'll" episode following.

I didnt totally hate it, it got off to a very outstanding start with kakashi and the dogs, i lolled my ass of when kakashi was reading icha icha and pakkun surprised him and the sakura/shikamaru thing was worth a grin but imo things kinda went downhiil from there. I really dislike the baddies in this arc, they look really lame:mad: and for a second there i actually thought naruto was not going to be a part of this mission, i was like: *OMG finally well get to see the other characters do something other than being naruto's backup*, and then shika said "looool, WTF were missing somebody" and the dream was snatched away right before my eyes:(

i just said that to overstress the habit the filler writers have of sending upwards of 11 man squads on a mission with 10 out of the 11 having little or no part to play, and even so naruto not being a part of the mission doesnt mean naruto not having a role or not being a part of the anime...just something you should think about.

sorry, didn't mean to take it out on you. its just annoying how many complaints there are about fillers. they are fillers. after so many, they will get bad. this being the last one until the time skip. just be glad they are over.

and most of the time, yeah the fillers were bad where naruto just was the main fighter doing everything. in this one it starts out to seem, naruto is part of the team, but he is part of bigger team. that leaves 8 or so other people to do things aside from what gaara will do.

in naruto, naruto will remain focus, he is the main character. the point of my statement was that there is not going to be a mission that naruto is not part of. he will join in at some point.

That information has been out a couple of days now even before getting on leafninja. But please lets stick to this current episodes discussion-- send any discussions on future fillers to the Shippuden thread.

Well we should just accept the fact that most if not all side characters created by the anime staff are going to be lame. So we should just deal with that.

As far as story goes it looks good. Repaying a favor having every genin + Shikamaru there to end the season. (Poor Tenten) Last chance for character interactions. If we want to see Chouji and Neji react upon each other's comments, or want to see Shino try to talk down Lee then here's a chance. Possibilities for character interaction here are pretty high.

As for Tenten? I'unno. She isn't the sort of character to jump in and be the hero as a last second addition. My guess is that the Menma arch coupled with her decent role in Konoha 11 made her less usable by the writers.

Oh, and then we'd have an odd number. ^_^

I was thinking. As a Kiba fan I tend to remember nearly everything he's said in the series, even the filler. lol But anyway, didn't Kiba say in that um, talkshow episode that he was going to break it out again the way he did against Sakon? ^_^ Be cool if the three that were saved by the Sand come back and pull out their powerful jutsu to save them back.

This might turn out to be an interesting arc. I hope the other characters acually do something and its not all Naruto. Did anyone who reads the manga think Matsuri looks like (minor manga spoiler in white) one of the girls praising Gaara at the end of the rescue Gaara arc.

I don't know.. It seems like another fanservice arc, just like the carpenter one. Sometimes reading the manga is a curse, like watching Toonami dubs and cringing at the thought that it will be 3 years before they catch up at the current rate.

You have just entered generic defense of filler writing no. 24.

1. Yes, the show is called naruto and naruto is the main character. That doesn't mean that he has to be involved with every single event that takes place. In fact, the whole point of having other characters is to take some of the focus from the main character, give people with different interests something to enjoy(ie. i like shikamarus fights more then naruto's) and as a result, keep the main character fresh when he does get screen time. Why create and develop other characters if all the series was ment to be was 22 minutes of naruto by himself kicking ass every single week.

2. We complain about fillers not because they ARE fillers but because of how the fillers are executed. The recently ended bleach fillers were very well done. Lots of different characters got screen time, fights, character development. It was interesting and well developed. A lot of effort went into those fillers. Im happy they are over, but Im not complaining about them at all, they were fillers but I didnt rag on them because they were good. Naruto fillers have given us 2+ years of really really low grade storybuilding and animating. Its like going to the same pizza place every thursday for 2 years and loving it, then suddenly they change the recipe and its really bad. Its natural that you would complain. Some people would stop going to the pizza place and others would continue to go hoping it would get better.

Dont give me a dough nut everyday for a week then give me a bagel next monday and expect me not to complain.

ps. sorry if any of that seems hostile, its not ment to be. Just defending my opinion on fillers

i totally agree with you on several points steve.

what i was stating when i said about naruto being involved was not that he has to be the star but what was previously stated was that he would not make an appearance at all. all i say is yeah, we can have fight and so on, have others be the star, but the main character should be expected to even just make an appearance. all anime's will at least for a glimpse, will reflect back to the main character just because of who they are.

fillers are poorly executed. you use bleach as your example. in all of anime, bleach is probably one of the only anime to do a job well done with the fillers. it regards to these fillers, sure they were crappy, annoying, predictable and pathetic, but it did not ruin naruto as a whole like so many other anime's have(such as kenshin,etc). i am sure some viewers disappeared because of it, but i am sure they will come back and they have something good to come back to.

But seriously it is pretty bad at this point. They're using Naruto so much that we've been seeing side characters have HUGE screentime coupled with cameos where-in the character had nothing to do with the episode. Yeah I'm talking about Kiba, again... lol But seriously he's been whored out alot too. It's become very appearent which characters the writers favor. I mean I think "Inuzuka Kiba's Lo~ng Day" had the LEAST Naruto of all the fillers. Hinata's a close second in the catagory though. The closest after these two are probably Neji and Tenten followed closely by Lee. Ino, Chouji, Shika, Shino and even Sakura have been cast aside quite alot.

Oh and for the record, I never read the Bleach manga, but I knew about five minutes into the fillers that they were infact fillers. Long story short, didn't like Bleach fillers at all. But that's another topic. ^_^

Even his cannon appearences, while more clever then the others, is still blah. I mean when a super genius comes up with a plan I seriously don't want to be thinking to myself, "well duh, that was obvious". But all in all I agree completely. The best they can do with Shikmaru filler-wise is to either *A, make him a comic relief, which actually works with Shikamaru to an extent. *B, CSI time. Or *C, make him a leader for a big series finally. LOL Which was we know has all come to pass.

Really enjoyed this episode it reminded me a lot of Naruto before the fillers.
Initially thought this was going to be one without Naruto even in it, thought that would have been interesting with Shika taking lead role.

Sadly parts of the animation were below standard.

Wow! I loved this ep! O Gaara Sinsei was so cool. He reminded me of Jet li with that Jouhyou. My friend was like, 'wow, those nins must be pretty cocky to be messing with Gaara.' I'm like 'soda soda!' He also said he was shocked to see that Gaara was able to handle weapons. I say he is the son of the Kazekage. He would probably be good at most weapons. Any good shinobi knows that one should be prepared for all ocations. Like when Kakashi kicked that one snownin's butt with taijetsu.

I bet this mission is what gets Gaara thinking about how he wants to protect everyone so maybe they will love him back. Can't wait to see future Gaara eps. I want to see how strong he's going to become and to see what new jetsus he comes up with.

Yeah that was pretty funny, I actually enjoyed watching his facial expressions. Between Gaara's impartial observation that was yet somehow emotional, Temari's sisterly instincts (expected her to comb Gaara's hair to make him look presentable, heaven knows the trouble she goes through with Kanky's make-up), and Kankouro's 'Jounin Leader' mentality I was very amused.
