i've said it before...i'll say it again...ROCK LEE IS THE COOLEST CHARACTER!!! :D

i figure i'd start a thread for people to rant about him...since it seems every other major character has no shortage of fans... :wink:

Its hard to pick one character as my favorite but I do admire Rock Lee's determination. When he sets his mind to something he is definately going to go for the goal. Even after he got crushed he was still dragging himself out of bed for some painful push ups. That was one of the hardest parts of the show to watch. He was so determined that he didn't even notice Sakura. He has a very sweet heart. Too bad he has a bad hair cut ^^ I like him better before Gai transformation lol when his hair was longer. But I guess him cutting his hair symbolized another turning point in his training.

Doesn't Rock Lee remind you of Bruce Lee?
I mean, the way he stands and challanges people..even the haircut is Bruce Lee style..can't recall if he does the same noises while fighting tho :lol:

yeah he and Gai remind me a lot of Bruce Lee, and so does the idea of him not being able to recover from a serious injury, and creating his own Taijutsu Nindo. And a few other things I can't say because you wont read the manga >< lol But yeah there is a lot there about Lee that is a lot like Bruce Lee. And it wouldn't suprise me if his story in the show mimics that of the legend.

Well, since Rock and Gai seem to be based on Bruce, I would say...Rock is going to recover from his injury just like Bruce did after he broke his back..they said he would never be able to fight again in his life and he proofed them all wrong through hard work and determination ^^

the Bruce Lee similarities are a good thing i guess...it gave the character a strong base to work from...

however in my upcoming fanfic his look will start to take on its own style...

i find rock lee's charactor... kind of well moronic... his logic is fuzzy and he will NEVER exceed a genius with hard work. Thats why gaara crushed him. his ideas are just a form of security to make him feel better when he himself is nothign more then an insignificant pile of flesh.

yeah lee was the strongest..... but now he's useless!

I like what neiji says after lee loses "Heaven forbids a guy to go to the next level if the only way he can win is to risk his own life ". That's how i feel.

why is everyone writing him off so quickly? does anyone read the manga? the new hokage is going to heal him...she's the best ninja medic there is...

i think Lee will achieve great things...because hard work and determination count for just as much as natural talent...

Psyche dont bother to much over those two they are the local forum pessimists. They have read the manga but anything you say they will automatically have a come back. Just wave your hand at it like it smells bad. I agree with you Lee will get healed Bruce Lee was also injured and couldn't walk. He had a surgery that could have killed him or made things worse. And then he worked and trained and not only walked again but was able to start his school and teach his own way. I think the story for Lee will probably be the same. Lee worked very hard to get to where he was when he fought Gaara. Gaara is a different type of fighter though and none of them knew that until Gaara fought Lee. If it wasn't for Lee, who knows how Kakashi would have trained Sasuke. And the fact that there are now a few fighters that are using his moves goes to show that Lee is a good fighter with excellent skill. Some fights are meant to be lost and Lee lost to Gaara in order to prove a larger point. I think we will see that later in the manga.

ic...ok i'll ignore them...seems silly for them to be on a forum just to annoy people...

perhaps that's how the series will end for Lee...after he reaches his peak we could see him teaching a class at the academy...

yeah he's the fastest...but that's because all of his skills are 99.9% taijutsu...nobody else has ever trained like that...

question...wouldn't he have had to complete the same final tasks as every other student to graduate? if that's true then he can at least pull off a shdow clone jutsu...which means using the simpliist jutsus isn't impossible for him...he can probably learn to walk on water and stuff of that sort...seeing as it's physically based and that would come ALOT more naturally to him...

that is a good question, and the reason for me disliking him is because he simply is too reliant on his hand to hand combat skills. A true nin should be able to do nin and illusionary, i truly believe these two are the better half. Why physically beat him when you can use you can form your chakra into something deadlier then your fist. Or why even fight them at all? simply overwhelm them with a false reality.

he can't for some reason...he has almost no aptitude for ninjutsu or genjutsu...he knew thias so he dedicated his life to proving that one can be a great ninja by only using taijutsu alone...which i think he's proved...

there are ways to make your fist all the more deadly...like using the celestial gates and training super-hard...

and if you're going to bring up Sasuke beating Gaara during the exam when Lee couldn't...Kakashi even said that the only way that Sasuke has that new speed is because he copied it from Lee...

well tell me then why even with the same speed could lee still not beat gaara?? it is becaus he is limited to only his fists. A master at nin and illusionary techniques i believe would completely wreak havoc on a person like lee , i dont see anyways of lee beating someone like that

Gaara's powers were Jounin level...you can't expect Lee to beat him...

as for your hypothisis...we'll see when Lee is recovered...for the time being he hasen't had alot of screen time...

Fate isn't determined blablabla ok, but still, if you alomst kill yourself using forbidden thecniques in the PRELIMINARIES......you won't amount to any good. I agree with the bruce lee thing totally, but how long will that take? i prefer not even think about it, with the rehabs AND the training to catch up to naruto with just taijutsu.....AND the speed things are progressing, it'll be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time before lee is even worth mentioning again.

he's not dead...Tsunade-sama is going to heal him and then he will continue his training...with more determination then ever...just because he lost doesn't make his effort any less valid...and do you see him giving up at all?

it's fine to be jealous...that's human...but in the end it's only going to make him strive that much harder to compete with the likes of Sasuke, Naruto and the rest...

A genius will defeat a hard worker with little effort. thats why a genius is a genius. What lee can achieve in years a genius can achieve in a fraction of the time. Not only that but their genius techniques are vastly superior to his limited skills

of course it was weak...that's why instead he focused on taijutsu...that made him strong...none of the genins...or even probably the chuunins are as physically strong and fast as he is...that makes him a force to be reckoned with...

Rock Lee does have a talent...it's Taijutsu...name one ninja at his level that can move faster or is physically stronger...

oh and btw...Sasuke is a great jutsu-user...and i still remember Lee kicking his ass before the exam... :wink:
