WOW! Great episode. First, original fighting techniques! Second, Other characters doing something. It may have only been Lee, but did you see him smash the queers face in?! GREAT! I'm very happy with this, so much better! And next week looks like it's gonna' be good as well. They're getting back into the spirit of writing good fillers again!

alright, here it is

Pros:
- naruto used a bit of creativity in beating the enemies
the first one: from the ground, kicked him down into the ground. Bit the cage open. I like it, I liked the entire sequence.
- We find out that todoki and gangetsu arent bad people, theyre just misunderstood, they reconcile
- kid gets tortured, kid gets saved
- second bad guy: naruto uses clones to jump into the sky then sends the bitch flying. Good job.

Cons:
- Animation not awesome, not terrible either. Bit choppy but all long running shows have that problem sometimes
- Why even have a 3 man team? Naruto BEAT all THREE of the bad guys even though he is PART of a 3 man TEAM.
- Only battle involvement from Lee or Sakura:
a. Naruto! (when worried)
b. Lee kicks the face of the colorful dude
Now, is it just me or could see not have handled this fight? I understand that naruto has to take care of the last guy but... couldnt lee have taken down wires dude(cool techniques btw)? Couldnt sakura have taken down the terraform guy? All the while, naruto is searching for the main bad guy. That way, the rest of his team wouldve gotten some real screen time
- Rasengan, Rasengan, rasengan
- this arc, i believe rasengan was used what? 3 times? narutos ultimate technique was used 3 times.
- from an entertainment perspective: whats the point of having the main character always do all the talking and the action. Whats the point of having the main character do the same thing to save the day every time?
- I honestly can say that Naruto, as a person, I dont like him anymore. I still like him in the manga and ill like him later on again, but filler-naruto... that isnt naruto at all. I dont know what that is but its awful.
- Flashbacks... ok, we get it, thats fine you are the way you are because of your memories... next arc: LOST MEMORIES. Its not cool to always have arcs that are based on traumatic memories. Or at least, if you are going to keep doing it that way, give us something interesting, give us some likeable characters that we can get into instead of ... "hey i am a badly drawn poorly characterized character you wont remember the name of"

** Now, I recognize that this episode as far as fillers go was not bad. The fights were pretty good. This was not a bad episode... in comparison to fillers. Unfortunately, the standard has dropped to the point where thats what we compare to now... and thats why, naruto episode discussions are under 2 pages these days.

Main points that wouldve made this arc enjoyable for me:
- less cliche main characters
- more involvement from sakura, lee(maybe let them fight?)

My favorite part was when Naruto used the clones to jump into the air. I agree with steve that Lee and Sakura didn't get enough screen time. Naruto could have been sent on this mission alone and it wouldn't really change anything.

a: random stupid story where they just find out useless info we already know, in a different way

b) They try to be creative, make up some new bad-guy who has a thirst for causing trouble, naruto gets pissed off as some sad ass emo story, uses rasengan! *enemy flys into the distance*

rinse, repeat, and wham, you have 50 filler episodes.

Typically I don't complain about fillers since it's not only pointless, but it's to be expected. But in my opinion this is easily one of the worse.

Nothing Naruto did was even possible. I mean, jumping off yourself in mid air like a ladder? I know they are fictional ninja, but you'd think it's just as impossible. Defeated the enemy with a move that causes recoil, and still grabs the parasal, which would've fallen away on it's own by that point. But then again this is a magic parasal. I mean, the guy flies around like Mary Poppins on it. No jutsu needed, just open and fly away. Of course he appearently can't do it when a child is using SIX kage bunshin to jump 300 feet in the air. And to top it off they had one of the most idiotic moments in Naruto yet when he falls off it.

Sigh, and of course that's only one part. Every character using eye-shadow and the blurred animation to hide the 15fps was just enough to annoy me.

As stated before, Lee and Sakura was only there because it would've been odd for Tsunade to send Naruto alone.

Only finished it to see who would be involved in the next episode. Either we're going to see NOTHING but "Filler Naruto", or we'll see cameos by Sakura and the rest, which might be pretty good. But in the end it's just the Unbu episode again but instead of him lugging a gremlin around all day, it's going to be Link from "The Legend of Zelda". Oh joy.

(Oh decent part of the episode however was when Naruto used the Kage Bunshin to trick the wire dude to lower his defense. But in the end that's just something you would expect out of any anime. Only looked cool because the rest of this arch has sucked.)

yeah this epi was pretty bad imo.

cmon, the animation for naruto biting the wire was just slightly overkill and looked like he was from a horror flick. second, the whole im gonna leap fifty million feet into the air is just to quickly rasengan your ass and end the episode.

also all the enemies who were such bad asses and sliced an entire boat in half
got hit with one rasengan and two kicks, one from naruto and one from lee. those are some pretty pathetic ninja.

slightly retarded imo, moreso than the other fillers.

haven't watched yet. will edit with my opinion. but I really have to say that it's a shame that they made such an awesome opening for the filler. I really like this one. They should have saved it for the re-entry from fillers.

Whatever were annilihated so gantetsu can be free?? How does that even make sense. That would mean that (a) Narutos rasengan killed that guy and (b) Lees kick killed the first guy and Lee also killed all the other members of the group. Otherwise they are basically just leaving the group alone?? Dumb.

Also, did any One Piece fans think they were trying to rip of OP a lot with this episode? Naruto losing teeth when he bit the ropes, Naruto falling from the umbrella, and the ending when they are lost? Totally looks like stuff you'd see in OP. Lame.

PS: One Piece was awesome this week. Chopper+Franky = funny.

100% agreement with you there. But a few openings back was a very nice one too and I felt the same way. And this is even better. Can only hope now that they improve yet again. One thing about Naruto, although the animation and storylines aren't stable, the openings sure are.

BUT WAIT. Instead of setting the plot up so lee and sakura get a fight, all, and I mean ALL that either of them do all arc is lee: kick in face

Ahh yes we got another piece of evidence that naruto is Konoha's most suprising ninja with that ingenious tactic of using his clones to propel him into the air. Oh well it was not a complete episode most likely they saving up their writing and drawing skills for when they really need them. Like rock lee vs nejii. ;)

Oi this episode kinda suked like the last i watched. I think they really should make arcs that follow each other a bit a least with a bit of growth in characters like as seen in hinata... they could show a bit of kiba and akamaru's growth instead of making them stupid or lee instead of making him a figurant. Or shika or ino, wtf, they have so many characters to use. They could show tsunade or shizune fight.

Another thing, they could show a bit about the past of some nins like they did for anko like for asuma, kurenai, gai, or could introduce some nins passing into the village and keep them for like 5 - 10 episodes and show a bit their eveolution in character.

Hmm plz a bit of imagination.

You can't blame the animators. More the production company execs. They likely cut back on the number of animators used for Naruto since it is filler and put them on other projects. They obviously didn't bother to think up good arcs before-hand either. I'm glad Bleach seems to have learned from this mistake and manage to keep ontop of things.
