Shatner speaking every word like a sentence is bullshit, I dont know who decided that was how he talked but they were incredibly wrong. However, I will admit that he has a slightly DIFFERENT way of speaking but the thing with that is, it greatly enhanced his character. The bottom line is... he gets the sentence out in the same amount of time a normal human would. And when you blamed scotty for that, I can only assume it was just not knowing the characters of the show(as scotty had one of the quickest orientations about him on the show... didnt think that much, spoke really fast-esp. when shit was going wrong-which is always on star trek)
Star Wars has a plot: What did star trek have?
Lets put a bunch of space ships and shit on the screen and that'll be the hour. If you are referring to how its normally an episode by episode plot, there is some truth in that... HOWEVER there are many instances of episodes that affect and change characters in the series permanently. My point is, there is a plot. There is development. Maybe not in the first series, but Star Trek the original has to be loved for how revolutionary it was. I mean, how did Gene Roddenberry ever come up with the concept? and he was able to mix elements of racial and social equality speech into almost all his episodes. Fuck dude, star trek taught me not to be a racist.
That show was the illshit.

Star Wars(orig 3) are extremely entertaining movies with a great storyline and special effects that were astounding at the time. I love watching them, but It'll never compare to star trek.

And before you start bashing the recent series, (Enterprise) and potentially (Voyager/DS9 - altho i liked both), let me remind you that the most recent 3 star wars movies were balls. Neither franchise is 100% awesome all the time, altho generally the original elements(first 3 SW movies, first 2 series and movies for Star Trek) were awesome. And star trek was better.

Well, I agree with you on a few points there, Starwars ep 123 all sucked, for the most part. Enterprise is only watchable for commander tepal. I was ragging on Shatner, cause who doesn't, honestly? I was refering to the plot, where sometimes it was them, going to a planet, resolving the issue of not getting shot, and then picking up crazy green space women. All and all, the entire series of both taken into account, yes trek is better.

I love how standard origina star trek plot is, Kirk either goes to planet with the crew, shit goes down, he picks up and then they bust the join(with good life lessons)
