Does anyone think Shikimaru's IQ is overdone? I mean 140 is like less then THREE percent of the population.. OVER 200 is freaking crazy.
Anyways I think he should be lowered to like 180 or something.

once again... depends on what scale was used... 145-150 is above normal on the 200 scale, but not genius.

my IQ test was administered by a Psychologist which means it's legit.. and it was on the 150 scale, I scored a 138... not quite Einstein, but getting close. I'd say on the 200 scale a 145 is slightly above average.

that would be above average or entry level genius i have heard it refered to once. the scale i have taken 140 is genius and on IQ tests i am pretty sure there is no limit to the highest you can get i have heard of people reaching IQs of 240 in documentaries

Its al about being challenged enough in life, school is no challenge for me and for a lot of other ppl it aint either. but i know someone that doesnt has a high IQ and doesnt has a high education but he doenst want to end up as some with-trash junky. he made something of his life and now is a lawyer. its all about putting your mind to a thing.

In an iq test (a proper one, not one that you found on google) after you finish, your iq is calculated with your age in account. For example, say your 15 years old and you get the same score in the iq test as your older brother who is 30. Your iq would then be calculated from your age and the score you got in the test. Your brother's iq turns out to be 108, but your iq is 118. The younger you are, the higher your iq can be.This is what i meant by iq drops with age. (remeber this example is only hypothetical!)

usually theres a set time for the duration of an iq test, so speed isn't really accounted for.

The importance of the actual IQ number is overrated.
The reported intelligence of Shikamaru was mostly likely chosen to be such a high number to be more impressive, a number such as 170 or 180 wouldn't be as notable or impressive as 200. Also, for the record, on an American IQ test, I scored a 182, but I am most likely not as intelligent as say, a 30 year old with 160 IQ, due to age being taken into account with an IQ test.
