My God, I was really dissapointed with HP3. I loved the previous two movies, but the third one...sucked...
Alfonso Cuaron screwed it up!!!
The reasons why it sucked:
1. The camera was always shaky, the angles sucked.
2. Characters were introduced badly.
3. Lines were stuck in there that weren't even in the book.
4. Most scenes were introduced badly at the wrong time.
5. The transitions were terrible and most of them were always the same.
6. The importance of an event was emphasized either way too much or way too little.
7. They keep on implying that Hermione and Ron liked each other! And it doesn't even imply it in the book!!!
8. Over all it sucked.

Yah I thought it was pretty shitty... though watching the movie reminded me of the fifth book, which made me tear up.
I always get teary-eyed when I think of the fifth book.

I saw this movie today and all I gotta say is this:
shitty.
First of all, all those points made by Death are correct. The Ron and Hermione thing just scared the crap out of me.
Secondly, they skipped a lot of stuff from the book. I thought that some scenes were moving too fast and some were moving too slow. I can't say that I enjoyed this film. Too much emphasis on Potter and his gang rather than Black and other major characters that move the plot along.
Thirdly, the character actings were pretty crappy. The "bad kid" Malfoy just sucked ass in the movie.
Fourthly, the movie was dragging on for way TOO LONG.
Lastly, the ending was horrible with Harry riding away on his Firebolt (which was actually given to him during the school year, not the end).

Ya I was a HUGE let down. I stayed up till like 2 to see that movie. When everyone walked out they were just like " Wow that was pretty good" and I was the only one who thought it sucked. Those whores messed up my favorite book.

OH YES. I also miss the old Dumbledore... I don't like the new one. He doesn't have the raspy voice and the air of Dumbledore about him.

I miss him to. The new one is too............I dunno I just don't like him.

The new guy for Dumbledore...he looked too goofy...and plus he was too comical and not a calm, serene kind of guy like Richard Harris was in the first two movies...-_-

Richard Harris.. ;_; why did you have to die.

No, the third book was the BEST book in my opinion, it's just the movie that kinda sucked

While it's true that I liked the book more than the movie, I think it was the best out of the movies. It jus had the worst book to movie aspect going for it.

VERY TRUE, though she was bearly mentioned at all in the third one, and I don't think she even said anything. They'll HAVE to have her in the next movie.... even though I have no clue how they will be able to make that movie or the fifth one since they were so long.

When movies are made from books, there's always those complaints about the movie not being accurate. But this movie is a very different case. As I've mentioned up up up there, it was not only the inaccuracy from book to movie, it was the sloppiness of Alfonso Cuaron that ruined it! I've read in a newspaper article that Cuaron threw away what the screenwriter gave him to help start the third movie, NEVER read the books, and didn't even watch the previous two movies!!! Who the hell does he think he is!!!

I jus don't stress so much over it I guess ^^;
jesus...so many negative opinions...i thought the movie was really good...(and it was much shorter than the others)
Adam-Ji
06-16-2004, 01:38 PM
Thank you! And shorter? I dunno... I think it jus SEEMED shorter cause they left a lot of stuff out?
Deathfire
06-16-2004, 02:44 PM

Adam-Ji
06-16-2004, 08:01 PM

I also thought that the third movie was a Big Dissapointment. All the problems seem to already pointed out (Bad acting, left out most of the story, didn't explain crap!, etc)
I was really looking towards this movie, seeing as the third book was my favorite.
Can someone please explain to me what the hell happened when Hermione used that time watch? Like with the stone getting thrown at the jar, Harry using that Dementor/Happy shield thing...

i didn't like HP3 not as much as the others... it was... boring in it's own way.
The fourth movie, I heard, will be directed by a different guy. So thank the Lord!

I thought the movie was kinda short but i felt it was good. I according to my little sister they cut out several parts.

Practically all of the HP films will probably have different directors from here on out. They decided this a long time ago, that they wanted variety to the series... who knows why.
I personally thought the movie was alright.. but that's just because I remember being a little bored by the first one. I liked the darker mood better here. I didn't mind the camera angles... I didn't see anything wrong with them >_>
but again, I'm not a huge HP fan, so I can't contribute much to this convo, lol.

I was the guest with that quote...I'm a loser...heh didn't log in...-_-
But anyway, I didn't like the camera angles, because they were too shaky and made so many unecessary close-ups, and with a huge screen in front of you it can make you really dizzy. @_@ (Did you know that after the movie at the time I went to see it no one clapped! That must've meant it sucked...)

lol.... hey man, clapping is a way of showing that the movie was really good. It's not a common thing, though. Definately for exceptional films only. Out of all the movies I've seen (believe me, that's a lot), people have clapped maybe 5 times.
I'm guessing she commented on that, because they usually clap for Harry potter films? I wouldn't know that part, lol.

Oh, they certainly have! Harry Potter 1&2 had people clapping afterwards.

lol honestly, I'm American, but still agree with you :P
I usually don't clap... but I think, for the people that do, it's more of an 'honor' or ceremonial thing, than anything else. It pays respect to the film, whether the actors are there or not. Just -symbolic-, I think.

The Harry Potter series is cute and unique, that's why I like it. I like watching movies that have a unique storyline without all the same shit they have in most other movies like: mobs, ooh cars blow up, "damn, he's shooting at me!", kissing and having sex, drinking like crazy...this stuff kinda gets annoying...-_-*

Clapping for a movie? That's just weird.

I was, too. I haven't seen it, but that's not the point. The point is, it sucked. And so did the first two parts.
