My friend and I are creating a manga(about cowboys)! We decided

Hey, there've been show about NINJAS, PIRATES, why not COWBOYS?

It's going to be fictional cowboys, not traditional.

Please, help us out, with ideas, etc.

are you sure you wanna start a cowboy manga? could be a bit difficult without any real direction.

We have a BASIC plotline, the essentials, but we need character ideas and stuff..

Space cowboys aren't cowboys, lol

cuz if its futuristic they should wear weird clothing and ride futuristic looking motor cycles. and have the old skool hats, and hankerchiefs. thats all i can think of right now.

Something like brokeback mountain might be good....

Seriously, the only thing interesting I can think of cowboys are their life for freedom, the open and travelling from one end to the other. Their story would focus on their personal outlook on things, their history, their scars...nothing too much on big monsters taking over the world and all...it must be a little dark, not overly humorous...cool maybe. Not as dashing as princes, but manly musculine character. Not too redneck and dumb as well...

The cowboys don't necessarily have missions or goals, they live to the things way are if you're putting it into futuristic context, they live to satisfy their tiny enjoyment in life, they care not what happens in the future, nor politics. They are not to dress up gaudily, with big hats, flashy cloths, big boots and all...nothing like Brandon from GunGRAVE.

Your setting must be important aye? Do you have any idea where to start with that?
