on the new episode of naruto on toonami...i think jiraiya in english is worst then in jap. He's suppose to be a pervert! not some mild mannered guy that sounds like a gentlemen..well discussions about this episode>

THEY HAD THE ORIGINAL JAP MUSIC! THANKYOU GOD THANKYOU!
BUT THEY RUINED IT BY MAKING NEW CLIPS THAT SUCKED WITH THE SONG, BUT AT LEAST THEY USED HARUKA KANTA!

I heard that voice, and I died from anger. I mean, it was horrible! he seemed like some uptight jeerk, not a perverted old jerk. god. but yes, haruka kanata was there, ands that earned points....

yeah, i agree on all sides, haruka kanata was good to hear over "we will rise" the vid was sub par, but it was pretty good. "pervy sage?!!!" WTF i was pissed off. jiraiya is supposed to be a big perverted kid, not some serious old guy. and he's supposed to be yelling 24/7. dammit!

have ANY of you actually seen that episode? first of all, he IS perverted. second, hes serious when needed, like the jap version. other than that hes mostly laid back. theres subtle differencest between the american and jap version of jiraiya, though.
we're talking about his voice not how he acts

Morons... His nature of a SUPER pervert wasn't even explored by this point. He was very serious when he first meets Naruto, and even up until the training actually started. I think the voice suites Jiraiya very well, at least for the time being. We'ren't exactly sure how well he'll evolve into the pervert we all know from the original version.
(Note how rare it is I actually insult people.)
EDIT: Sigh, I suppose "Morons" was abit too harsh. Sorry about that.

I forgot to add Jiraiya is HILARIOUS!
He is like what naruto wants to be on his road to hokage...maybe not the pervert part, but when they fight over the tadpoles...it is a chronological reflection.

I agree for te most part...English dubs aren`t usually mark-hitting...If you know what I mean...

Omg his voice is 20xbetter fit for that character in the jap version. In english it just seems like someone like him would not have a voice like that.

english dubs totally suck. i prefer to watch the japanese version with there voices with the translation underneath sounds so much better.
Also naruto's old voice was possibly the worst i've ever heard.

Yeah on cartoon network the openings are crap and the voices just annoy me the seem so out of character especially Sakura.

she does not act selfish most of the time.
her relationship with naruto is different. she makes fun of him, treats him like trash but in a friendly way (maybe not before kakashi's test) she likes him I believe but nothing more.
barbies care about themselves and they act all arrogant when they are under attack.
