Ive jsut recently heard of anti rape condoms, and after i saw its design, i was like wow! theyre forreal! basically its like an ordinary womens condom, except inside its lined with curved spikes, "it" can go in, but on the way out... OUCH.
its basically a vaginal bear trap, and i heard its soon to spread on the market
what do you guys think?

This was mentioned years ago and got slammed pretty badily. Although the idea "sounds" good, do you think a rapist is going to just let a girl get away after having this happen to him? Penis in pain or not... chances are she's going to get the shit knocked outta her or even killed cause of it. Imagine a couple guys raping a girl and this happens. She'll end up paying big time for it.
Bad, bad, bad idea. Also atleast a rapist could be nice and toss on a condom (although I doubt it) and if he DID have hiv/aids the victim could end up avoiding contracting it. With this think you'll like tears the crap outta the guys winky and the condom and end up more like contracting stuff if he has anything.

Yes there are many flaws, if u read the wikipedia article i posted earlier about it, it lists EVERY flaw and problems that can occur.
including gang rape, if a women wants revenge, and risking assault on the woman, haha.

Its good that it protects women, but its bad in that, like pepper spray, is easily abused.
Ie, hypothetical situation
Your girlfriend goes to a party, wears the thing. You dont plan on seeing her that night but you end up at the party. later, you go home together and in the drunken sprawl of things, you get down to it. Next thing you know, you haveto goto the hospital to get a dick clamp surgically removed while your girlfriend tries to explain to the police that you werent trying to rape her and it was an accident.

I think this is ridiculous. Such a device is a weapon; a most heinous and disgusting weapon.

It's not a joke for being ridiculous to intelligent people. Unfortunately we don't determine what is in the boundries of accepted public belief versus the unrealistic/absurd.
Issues as serious and blatantly obvious as Global Warming are openly denied by a public as large as the population of America. (majority of)
It doesn't get much more ridiculous than that; this sad reality is far from a joke to the people who embrace the ignorance.
That is why we discuss it. All of this drawing attention away from me requesting graphic descriptions of how this device works being kindly omitted from conversation, for the sake OF any possible discussion.

The reason that i am saying that this invention sucks is because it does!
* First off the size of the thing. This isn't something discreet that a woman could wear comfortably, like a tampon, even though the website claims it to be. This is more like a female condom, and would you feel comfortable walking about with a condom on?
* Secondly this is a manually inserted device. At what point during getting ready to go out would you ask yourself: "hmmm, i wonder, am i going to get raped or not?" A woman would have to be pretty paranoid to wear this everyday!
* Also, as stated on the website, the device has only ever been tested using prototypes. So there is no real proof that this would work or that it wouldn't end up damaging the female.

(So there is no real evidence to back up alot of the claims made on this site)

A: Sadly, many women have been killed over time, as nobody can guarantee the outcome of any rape! Thank you for ignoring the substantial issues here to re-assert your exhausted and obvious belief that rape sucks. Yes, it sucks. But so does this device.
I am insulted that you imply my only reason for objecting to this device is because "I'm not the one who gets pregnant"
I'll overlook for a second that less than 1% of rape results in pregnancy, that's not relevant right now. All i'll say to you is that I humbly request you actually read the arguments stated against this dreadful idea.
1. If you market this device, even with the golden intention of preventing rape, there is nothing to stop women from using it as the concealed weapon it is.
2. Concealed weapons are illegal.
3. Does anyone honestly think the kind of man twisted enough to force himself inside of a woman would just contritely walk away after his PENIS is damaged by her? For fuck's sake, he is going to kill the bitch for that. I don't want rape victims to also be victims of murder. Is that ok with you?
There are many more issues with this device others have already presented. Please read them.
PS- I have narrowly avoided being raped myself; I am not a female. So if you're to say I haven't the right to protest against anti-rape devices, you would be mistaken.

More negatives than positives if this thing hits the market. Dont agree? you have to read the whole thread.
Dont say guys cant get raped.. think about prison inmates.. I think the only time this will help is if they made one for your butt and you went to prison, but cmon now? unrealistic. lol
Back when this was first introduced it was purely a 3rd world country device since rapes are far more common. But still... it's a bad idea. Even if it does really hurt a guy I'm sure lots of them would end up really harming the girl afterwards.. . sure you get to avoid being raped but in return you get the shit beat out of you or even killed?
Also.. what if the girl is pinned and the rapist takes things slow and realizes as he pulls out that the device is there? Do you think he'll want to pull out? And if the girl moves around it's going to cause more pain for him and he's going to react to that. Not a good situation really
As far as the concealed weapon agrument that completely stupid. It's not a weapon at all. That'd be like saying if you carry a jar with cookies inside and hidden needles it's a concealed weapon cause someone can try to steal your cookies and get a handful of needles :P

Best anti-rape invention? Self-defense. Martial arts, knowing how to use keys, pocketknives, mace, or whatever you have handy to combat assholes. And, most importantly, trying to avoid risky situations altogether. Walking alone at night? If unavoidable, don't wear headphones/anything distracting like a phone. Goign to a party? Bring a trustworthy friend, who will watch you and make sure that you 1)don't drink too much or 2)get separated from him/her. Or just say you won't drink altogether, or at least not in large groups of people or when you're going to have strangers joining. (will most girls do this? hell no. But they should take more precautions like this).
Of course even with all of this, with more than one person, it is pretty hard if you ARE in that situation to get out of it.

Wrong, the best anti-rape invention in acceptance.
Once you are willing, it's not rape anymore. So theoretically you didn't just get raped. Plus if the guy has a rape fetish, then accepting it is a major turn off. He'd probably just leave then.

Once you are willing, it's not rape anymore. So theoretically you didn't just get raped. Plus if the guy has a rape fetish, then accepting it is a major turn off. He'd probably just leave then.

i realize you were joking, but i'm going to argue this point anyway for those who might actually believe this would work.
most rapists don't rape for sex i.e. rape fetish. They do it to prove their dominance over women, for power and control, usually egged on by their own lack of ego/need to prove their masculinity. Some do it because they're drunk/on drugs and either don't care or are so fucked up they don't even realize what's going on. I think it's a minority of times that men don't realize the girl is resisting though. Even those that are drunk can usually see that much; it's more likely that they just don't care.
So pretending to want it won't make them stop or make it less enjoyable for the rapist because it has nothing to do with the girl or with sex in many of the cases. Pretending to like it and actually liking it are different. you can't force yourself to like something you do not like or something that is excruciatingly painful like rape. Rape isn't normal sex, it's more forceful and intended to hurt the person (usually a woman/girl but men also) and isn't always done the way people presume (penis--vagina. Sometimes more like penis--other body part or object--some body part). Even if a girl at some point found it somewhat pleasurable, it's still not something she wanted and she is still resisting. It's something she did not consent to and liking something you are forced into does not make you guilty.
even if this worked somewhat, it wouldn't combat anal sex, or nto having the antirape condom on (this would cost so much money just putting one in all the time and is so unrealistic. and do we really expect people to put one in the vagina and one in the anus?) or especially USING OBJECTS.
