Awww!! it didnt suck that much. the essence was more of old material than new At least we got to see some of the nicest fights/scenes in naruto again.

did you watch it? ***scratches head***

At least i am glad they showed Chouji's best fight scene. As well as Kiba's strongest fight move yet.

wasn't so bad - I wish naruto and sakura wouldn't have talked during the fight scenes, god that was annoying.
good to see oro and sasuke, weird way of showing them though.
Please let this be a sign of the end being near.

Kinda of a way of an episode but at the same time it was nice to see the old fights. Although I hate the fights they selected but probably they want to remind everyone of what's happened recent (okay two season ago) before getting back on track eventually.

Have to agree with reijjan on this one that episode sucked!!

And thinking about next weeks special. i was originally hopeful that next week would be the end of the specials but it could just be a special because of the new time slot :(

Sigh, it's odd, if the person has fewer then 70 posts, then odds are all they're going to do is complain about fillers. Kudos to those who don't. ^_^

Anyway this episode was far from sucking. It served it's purpose exactly as it was intended to do. Remind people of the changing time; spark interest in the main arch; and give cameos of the more popular characters that would get people excited for the return of the main arch.

Anyway a couple of things that stuck out to me...

Did Sakura go on a monolog of how "manly" Akamaru is!? Please tell me that was a mistranslation or something. >_<

Animation was good overall with the exception of Kiba, who looked like he was colored-by-numbers.

Since when does Orochimaru where his flak jacket when loafing around his estate? Or was this souly done to keep the mood dark and add futher contrast to his pale face?

That's it for now. Just seeing if we could actually suck some sort of conversation out of this incredibly uninteresting installment.

Oh and it looks like another Team 8 installment coming up. Except with Kurenai and of course Naruto'll be tagging along.

Naw...Only the immature ones, I enjoy fillers somewhat, I didnt like the baby sitting mission arc before. But yeah, Fillers arent so bad when you get used to them. And i hope kakshi gaiden is gonna be as good as we all hope it is.

yeh I enjoyed seeing the first sasuke fight aswell as seeing the chouji and kiba fight. I loved the neji fight but they screwed him over for screen time, didnt show the best parts of the fight... same with sasuke and naruto... oh well, the first 3 clips were awesome

Ahh the best of Naruto was the best. I could almost hear a certain type of music playing when i was watching where naruto was getting beat up by sakura.

I wasn't too thrilled with this ep. Though the best fight out of all was Gai and Kakashi Paper, Rock, scissors

Btw: the animation in old school ducktales is far better then this...
The fillers reminds me of Scooby doo or f4, the little freakteam with their own sp.a.

Well this was practically just a rerun, I'd rather watch a real episode even filler than something I've seen before.

However I don't believe the scenes chosen were that good. Rock Lee definitely had tons of fights that far surpassed just about everyone of those, and most of them didn't even contain the awesome parts of the fights, just more of what happened.

Like, when naruto and sasuke clashed in the number 1, they just attacked with chidori and rasengan, same exact thing in number 5, and nothing really even happened. What I think they should have shown was the beginning of that area where they actually fight.

Fighting? Not really. For an episode dedicated to the fights they sure failed. When Sakura said they hoped they did well enough for us on this episode I shouted 'H311 NO!' When I started it I thought it would be awesome, showing all the crazy fights, but no. We didn't get anything out of it other than Jiraiya being a goof and not caring about Orochimaru, Orochimaru being acting like he just did 40 lbs of reefer, and Sasuke being a tool, again. I swear, he's the kid that ruins everybody's fun, he needs to get laid bad!

those fights were years ago. I think they wanted to rehash the prefiller fights to get people more interested. They probably didnt even poll the audience and just put it fights with all the characters they haven't sshown much of lately :P

This wasn't that bad. Seeing sasuke was pretty cool. Rock Lee VS Gaara > basicly all of those fights. That's all I gotta say about this.

Seeing Sasuke one last time before the time jump was great, even if the premise for it was a bit... well, I want to say flawed, but let's face it...dumb. Jiraiya walking into Orochimaru's secret headquarters for an interview (and refusing to say where that headquarters was, because it's a secret secret that's secret).

They definantly should have shown Lee versus Gaara, or at least Naruto versus Gaara. But they gave us the rock-paper-scissors match, which I'd forgotten all about, so I'm happy, anyway.

this was just wat it was, a flashback episode. and the sasuke part was pure fan service. he was in he same pose....those who read the manga know what im talkin about, i dunno how to put up spoiler tags....and i was hoping for jiraya to say sumthin like "i'll be back in konoha to pick u up in 2 weeks" or sumthin promising like that...oh well.

I thought the Chouji fight was one of the most moving of the arc. It may not have been the coolest-looking, but it was a good fight to watch.

Of course, showing a single part of it out of context hurt that a bit, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do.

Maybe Lee isn't that popular over there. It's Japanese kids, so of course they like anyone that's similar to themselves first. Sasuke and Neji, IMO, look more like asians compared to Lee who looks like a white kid....and an annoying one at that. Although his fights are crazy, theres nothing but taijutsu, which I'm assuming most of those kids practice some similar artform anyway. No matter what, we all knew Naruto and Sasuke would win it. I think those fights were alright, but they needed another 1/2hr to properly represent the battles.

Forgive me, but this is by far the worst post i ever seen in my life
at least the first half of it is

Rock Lee looks far from white, his character design was suppossed to be a composite of Bruce Lee. There is nothing about him that doesnt scream white at all.

If it was the voting system then people are just mad cause the Japanese dont buy into Rock lee's story and dont feel sorry for the weak.

Japanese have a high code of moral standards and dont have a high acceptance for losers.

Its just the way it is.

yeah i will admit having the Gai vs Kakashi jan ken scene was pretty dumb and void to have in there.

and i also agree that rock lee vs Garaa should of been up there

I mean if it were up to me the number 1 fight scene in my eyes was the battle of the Kages

but then again thats just me
