As for the Third's son...Definately Asuma. They have the same hairstyle. Not to mention, the Monkey called the third Sartobi. Sarutobi Asuma must be the son of the 3rd.

I don't think they are related, Sarutobi could be the last name of Asuma, and i think sarutobi is the first name of the 3rd, why? They call him "sarutobi-sensei", and they call hatake kakashi, "kakashi sensei".... er im not good at explaining things..

yea thats exactly right. the summons dont call their masters by their surname. manda cals orochimaru orochimaru gama calls jiraiya jiraiya and kastsuyu cals tsunade tsunade sama. and when the 3rd is little the 1st and 2nd call him saru so i think his first name is sarutobi

And Asuma 's name is:
Sarutobi Asuma

So... Maybe... but Asuma didn't play such a big role in the funereal.... did he? someone look into that... i bet Hokage's son is probably dead... or maybe it is Asuma... but Asuma is too weak?

sondaime isnt his name it's a title. son means 3. sondaime hokage means the 3rd hokage. sarutobi is his first name.

Asuma's name is indeed Sarutobi. It states this very clearly in episode 21. He's giving his recommendation for his team to enter the Chunin Exams.

As many have said, whoevever Konohamuru's parents are, they are not important enought for the Kishimoto to add to the story. We can speculate all we want, but nothing will come of it.
