Orochimaru is not immortal. He can change bodys but it doesnt mean he cannot be killed. but he has great strength, wisdom, and powers which Itachi cannot copy or learn

yeah, I'm starting to doubt how powerful Itachi is.... sure he may be strong, but he uses his sharingan too loosely, and he uses up his chakara quick. I'm starting to think that if Gai avoided it long enough, he would take out Itachi rather easily

Not easily but he would take out itachi. He is fast, strong and much better taijutsu fighter than itachi. Gai uses only tai. so he must know a way how to fight with persons who like long distant and know lots of jutsus (Kakashi). Itachi would have a lot of problems with him.

ya um it all depends mostly... i mean i admit that itachi is REALLY strong i mean a genius, i guess cuz he mastered his clan's techniques... but i think he is a lil full of himself so he isnt very responsible.. i mean he is like 17.. still needs a lot of growin up to do...

NO ONE in Naruto is immortal. His jutsu allowed ETERNAL YOUTH, not IMMORTALITY, and Orochimaru had to change bodies for the eternal youth part (he had to work for it).Here's the break down nawar:

eternal youth: always young (usually assumed young adult), he has the POTENTIAL to live forever, but he can be killed
(think about it, is it possible for a young person to be killed? Yes? Well there ya go)

immortality: not mortal, doesn't die.

There's also the point that Orochimaru says he left "that organization" (Akatsuki) before the attack on Konoha (before he lost his arms) for the sole reason that Itachi was much stronger than him and he knew it. I believe that's said at the beginning of ep. 81 (talking with Kabuto), but I'm too lazy to check, I know it's the beginning of either 80 or 81.

Indeed, Orichimaru was referring to the past when he said that Itachi was stronger, meaning before his arms were sealed. Also, this talk of Gui beating Itachi by avoiding Sharingan long enough is ridiculous. Gui has NEVER fought Sharingan like this before, and we certaintly don't know the nature of this "Great Shining Heaven" move that we saw in episode 85. Even Jiraiya had no idea what the black flames were from. As far as being an irresponsible ninja, using his chakra too quickly, Itachi realized the mistake he made immediately and executed the appropriate action, he is not any less of a ninja for it. Do not underestimate Uchiha Itachi.

I think Guy could have held his own against Itachi only because he used Tsukuyomi agaist Kakashi earlier. It looked like Tsukuyomi used a lot of chakra (Itachi's eyes start shaking and he begins to sweat afterwards).

If Itachi was at full strength, Guy could not keep up w/ Itachi. We know Guy and Kakashi are about even (I believe Guy has an edge). Itachi is in a level above Kakashi. Faster speed; faster jutsu execution; better control, usage, stamina of sharingan; more talent; etc. He wasn't even going 100% against 3 Konoha Jounins. Guy would have to open quite a lot of gates to even think going against Itachi. Itachi probably would not even allow time for Guy to open any gates in my opinion.

ooopsie i didnt mean it like that....... the immortality thingy, i meant that orochimaru, has the ability to get another body, so he could go all out on itachi with no fear of death, a simple escape plan is enough, and in the proces sacrifice that body in hope of inflicting dangerous wounds, like cutting off a leg or two, since if his body is injured he can always get another

before and after orochimaru got his armed sealed, itachi had always been stronger than him. orochimaru even openly admits that itachi is stronger than him. he wants the powers of the sharingan but can only get it from sasuke since he is afraid to face itachi.

when itachi and kisame or watever that guys name is were speaking in episode 83. kisame said: his caretaker is a legendary sannin when he was referring to naruto. and they also said that at best they would kill him but both die aswell. this means that itachi cannot beat jiraiya. if orochimaru was always stronger tahtn jiraiya since he is a genius then he can also beat itachi. Im sure orochimaru lives up to his title as a sannin. if itachi were stronger than orochimaru wouldnt he be called legendary?
