It has been eight years since the end of Naruto's Saga. Orochimaru is long dead and Akatsuki has been trampled beneath the might of Shinobi and the future Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. They and thier organizations no longer pose a threat to the world. However, it is the dawning of a new era, and un-forseen dangers are just over the hill...
Chapter 1: The Calm Before The Storm
"Hey mom! I'm heading out, I'll see you later when I get home!" Shouts a young boy as he runs out the door of his home. "Wait Surashi!" Comes a reply from another room. "Why are you leaving so early? School isnt for another hour.." "Dont worry mom, Im going to visit Grandpa!" Without even waiting for a reply, the young boy dashes out of the house and into the streets.
The streets of the village are bustling at this time of day. Shop vendors are opening thier shops for the busy day ahead, store owners stock the shelves for the morning comuters. Everything in the Village Hidden in the Storm is working soundly and peacfully. The streets get a little crowded at this time of day, but young Surashi pushes his way through each of the people with strong determination. Eventually, the young boy reaches the Ninja Academy, only slightly winded from running.
Surashi joined the academy when he was six years old, rather young. He was determined to follow in his Grandfather's steps, even at such a young age. His Grandfather was the last Shinobi in his family line, and for good reason. But Surashi didnt care, his Grandfather was his idol, even though they never met. Surashi's mother would tell him stories of his Grandfather's couragious adventures. How he saved the village time and time again. Even how he managed to save the Raikage's life! Yes, even though they never met, Surashi always admired his Grandfather. That is why he HAD to become a great Shinobi...just like his Grandfather.
Surashi completely ignores the front door to the academy, infact he takes a deture around the side, to the back training ground just behind the academy. The training grounds were well maintained, as always. The Shuriken targets all perfectly lined up, just waiting to be hit by a well placed Kunai or Shuriken. Several dummies line the western wall, ready to take a good punch. And there, in the center of the court yard is a small stone tablet. Surashi ignores all the practice equipment and walks right up to the tablet and gets down on his knees. "Hey Grampa. Sorry I didnt visit you yesterday."
The stone tablet that lies before Surashi, holds the names of all the brave Shinobi who died for thier village. On that stone there are many dozens of names, but one in particular, Marashi Omanaka. Surashi's Grandfather, Marashi, had died while on a sabotage mission. He was brutally tortured for several weeks before he was rescued in a raid by his comrads. However, it was too late, Marashi had sustained multiple injuries to his internal organs that was beyond repair. He died shortly after his rescue. But, Surashi knew none of that. All he knew, was that his Grandfather died in defense of his nation, he was a hero.
"Ok Grampa, I gotta go school is starting." Says Surashi to the tablet. "Today is the final exam! Im going to pass and become a great ninja just like you!" With that, Surashi leaves the training yard and walks into the Academy. The inside of the academy is suprisingly large, with many rooms and classes happening at the same time. Reguardless, Surashi easily finds his classroom. He opens the door and see's that he isnt the first to arrive. As usual the teacher, Iboroki, is there setting up the schedule on the chalk board. Without saying a word, Surashi races up the stairs to his seat, five rows from the floor.
Even when the class was full, Surashi had a good three empty chairs on either side of him. Nobody sat next to Surashi, nobody liked him much, and Surashi didnt like them much either. Especially... Suddenly the door swings open and makes a loud "THUD" as it hits the wall. In walks Sogihara Berasu, Surashi's least favorite person of all. Rude and obnoxious, Berasu really got on Surashi's nerves. After Berasu walked in, other kids began to trickle in. Soon the entire class was full, all seats taken...except for those around Surashi.
"All right kids listen up!" Barks Iboroki Sensei. "Today is the Graduation Exam. You all have done well, so I expect most if not all of you to pass." Iboroki pauses for a moment, scaning the room, before continuing. "Once your name is called, you will go into the next room, Room 303. There you will show the sensei there, your three basic nin-jutsu. Substitution Jutsu, Clone Jutsu and Transformation Jutsu, as well as any special abilities you might have. Once your done, you will come back here and await the results, which will be handed out when everybody is done with the exam." Once again, Iboroki scans the room, looking for any fidgeters. "All right, we will start with....Okari Imada."
It was about half an hour before Surashi was called into the room. Once he got there, he found that the room was empty, only populated by a desk and another Chuunin Ninja behind it. Surashi easily pulled off his three basic jutsu flawlessly. He was always good at them. "Ok good job kid." Half-Heartedly States the Chuunin. "Any special skills you want to show me?" With that, Surashi reaches into his back pocket and pulls a single Shuriken from his pocket. After concentrating deeply, the Shuriken begins glowing a feint red color. Surashi concentrates even harder at this point, delving deep into the wells of his un-developed chakra stores. Slowly the Shuriken begins to lift out of his and and hovers in the air for several moments before falling to the ground. Slightly expended from the attempt, Surashi looks up to see the man's reaction. However, Surashi is un-able to see the mans face as he is looking down, scribbling down...something into his notes. "All right kid...if thats all you have you can go." Slightly disapointed with that reaction, Surashi picks up the Shuriken and walks out the door.
Another hour passes before all the other kids finnish thier exam. "Allright thats everybody." States Iboroki. "I will now announce those who pass from the exam!"

Chapter 2: Winds of Change
There is a sudden knock on the door of the class room, wich Iboroki quickly answers. The man at the door is the same from the graduation evaluation, he hands over some paperwork to Iboroki then leaves. After shuting the door, Iboroki walks to the center of the floor, where he is easily heard by all the class.
After thumbing through the first couple of pages, Iboroki pauses for a moment before he addresses the class. "When I call your name, please come up and stand next to me."
"For several minutes, Iboroki reads names off of his documents, on the third page he reads off the following names:
Miroki Ibersu, Berasu Sogihara, Yao Sikara, Surashi Omanaka.
"That is all...the rest of you please meet with the proctor outside for further directions." States Iboroki. As the other students gather up thier things, Surashi thinks to himself: "Iboroki dismissed more then half the class! I wonder which group is actually going to graduate..."
As soon as the last dismissed student leaves the room, Iboroki walks over to his desk and pauses for a moment, before continuing.
"Congratulations you nine, you all have been evaluated and it has been decided that you are ready for the next step in ninja training." With that said, Iboroki grabs the top of the desk, which strangely folds in his hand like cloth! Suddenly, Iboroki pulls a cloth off the top of the desk, revieling several multi-colored and shaped ninja headbands!
"Ha! I wasnt worried for a minute! Of course I would graduate...you guys were just lucky that you could follow in my footsteps!" Brags Berasu as he selects his headband. "Shut your mouth Berasu. It will get you killed one day..." Reply's Yao as he ponders over his headband choices. "I only wish that I am there on that day!" Laughs Surashi as he grabs his headband from the group.
"Now dont go running off. While you are here, you will need some more information before you leave." Say's Iboroki as he blocks the door from the group. "Take these, they hold all the information you need about your team and Jounin Sensei. Once your done filling out all the information that is required, turn these in to me." States Iboroki as he hands a few sheets of paper to each of the students.
Surashi thumbs through the paperwork. The first page isnt very interesting, so Surashi flips it over and looks at the second. "Lets see here...it says my teamates are...Yoa. Hmm hes cool, I could stand working with him. And the other guy is....Berasu! Why would I be paired up with him?" Already mad with his team selection, Surashi flips over the page to see who is Sensei is. The picture and name were completely unfamiliar to Surashi.
"Great...I have an unknown Sensei and goof of team." After let off a sigh, Surashi walks out of the academy as soon as everybody else leaves. Instead of heading home with news of his graduation, Surashi walks behind the academy to his Grandfathers Stone. "Sorry Grampa, even though I was able to become a ninja, my team is worthless, I dont know if I will be able to progress much farther..." Sollomly says Surashi as he lowers his head.
"So...you wish to live up to your Grandfathers legacy young one?" Says a mysterious voice that drifts on the wind. Startled by the voice, Surashi looks around but see's nothing in the area! "If you really want true power, meet me at the gates of the city in half an hour...dont be late." As the voice fades, so does the wind.
"Real power? I wonder what he could mean...but whatever it is, I'll take it." Surashi runs home as a break neck pace. As soon as he gets home, Surashi runs up to his room and packs up all of the things he can carry on his back. Before his mother even realizes he is home, Surashi dashes out of his house, making his way to the gate. "Sorry mom, I'll be sure to come back when Im stronger..."
Surashi reaches the gates, only to find that the guards who normally are there, are mysteriously nowhere in sight... "Good you came." Says a voice from above. "My name is Hatero...come with me." Without even questioning, Surashi follows this "Hatero" wherever he may be going...

Chapter 3: The Comming of Chaos
A dark shrowed figure walks through the forrest, just north of Konoha. Its large black cloak shadows its entire form, only a small tuft of Silvery-White hair peeks out of the shrowed. Normally the forrest is loud with the sounds of animals scampering through the under-brush. However, today the creatures are eerily silent, even the wind is silent.
Suddenly, the figure stops in the middle of the road. "Hm...they are still following me." Muters the figure to itself. After the brief pause, the figure continues but begins straying off the path. The figure continues silently walking through the dark forest....until.
*WHAM*
The figure trips over a fallen log, spilling its backpack and all its contents all over the forest floor! The figure slowly staggers to its feet, but before it can even fully get up, several smoke bombs explode around it!
"Allright boy! This is payback for earlier!" Says a voice from within the smoke. "We will be taking our things back...and your money! Dont give us any trouble if you want to live!" Shouts another voice from another nearby cloud of smoke. The figure lets a small smile crack through its cold face. "Fools...you simple minded bandits couldnt possibly compare to me."
Within the blink of an eye, the figure's hands are at its sides. Before they can react, the figure pulls out two Kunai Knives and throws them in opposite directions, one to its right the other to the left. The first Kunai strikes its target in the stomach, toppling the man over in a heap. The second knife is found stuck in a nearby tree, a miss.
"Take this you punk!" With that the second bandit appears infront of the shrowded figure, delivering a solid strike to the figures face! Suddenly there is a flash of light and a puff of smoke, the figure dissapears and is replaced by a small log! "A Substitution jutsu!?" exclaims the figure. But before he can react, he feels the sharp sting of cold steel on his neck. Standing directly behind him is the figure, with a Katana to his neck.
"Please...have mercy..." pleads the man. "For the weak...there is no hope." With that, the figure makes a sweep with his blade, causing the bandit to fall to the ground...lifeless. With both men dead, the figure walks around the area, picking up the items he droped. "Heh...that was the easiest trap I ever set." States the figure as it slings it's backpack over its shoulder. Spying its Kunai stuck in a nearby tree, the figure walks up to the tree, when...
*WHAM*
The figure trips over something lying just under the tree! "Ok that wasnt intentional..." stammers the figure as it gets to its feet. "Hey kid! Would you watch where your going! I was sleeping there!" says a young man that was lying under the tree. "My appologiese. I didnt see you there." Says the hooded figure. "Yeah...well just be a bit more careful." Un-enthusiastically says the young man.
Looking around, the young man see's something on the ground. "Hey mister...I think you droped this.." The boy picks it up, when he realizes its a ninja headband, from the Hidden Strom Village. Reacting quickly the boy pulls a Kunai from its holder and holds it ready! "Your a Storm ninja! Did the Raikage send you to spy on me! If you are, go back to your 'kage', and tell him that I can finish this mission on my own!"
Noticing the threatening posture, the figure in a single graceful move, pulls out its Katana and also gets into a defensive posture. "Raikage spy!? That fool couldnt even tie his own shoe laces if it werent' for his aids! Why would I have dealings with such a imbicile?" Retorts the figure. For several moments, both combatants stare eachother down, neither making a move. Suddenly, they young man begins laughing! "You hate him too? Looks like I have you all wrong my friend." With that, the young man puts away his Kunai and extends his hand in a friendly gesture. "You can call me Sask. Who might you be? Inquires the young man.
Realizing that Sask isnt a threat, the figure sheathes its Katana and pulls down its hood. Revieling a young man around 16, with Whitish Silver hair and deep blue eyes. "You can call me Surashi Omanaka."

Chapter 4: The Gate of Destruction
"Ok Surashi, nice to meet you." Replies Sask. "I'm heading to Konoha, and it looks like you are as well, we should probably hurry and get there before it gets too dark." Looking up, Surashi notices that the sun is no longer visible in the sky, only fient orange lights spater the sky, it is close to sun set. "That would seem the wise idea..." Says Surashi in a very flat monotone. "I dont know the way though, do you?" Ponders Sask. At that, Surashi reaches into his backpack and pulls a small scroll. After giving it a once over, Surashi points off towards the South-West. "That should take us to Konoha in the shortest amount of time."
After a few hours of walking, the sun has set and stars are begining to appear in the sky, reguardless Sask and Surashi find thier way to the gates of Konoha. The two weary travelers enter the open gates, but are confronted by two ninja.
"Hello you two, weclome to Konoha." Says one of the men. The other scans Surashi and Sask over and notices that they have ninja headbands. "Sorry you two, but we cant let ninja from other nations into Konoha without a passport. We had some problems with that about 11 years ago..." After pausing for a moment to think of what the man said, Surashi reaches into his back pocket and pulls a small brown wallet like object which he hands over to the man. The guard looks at the object for a moment or two and returns it to Surashi. "Ok you can pass." After saying that, the guard extends his hand to Sask.
At that moment Surashi remembers something Sask said in the forrest. "Oh man...I lost a bunch of things yesterday, I hope I didnt loose my passport, because I need that to get in the gates of Konoha." Returning from his daydream, Surashi thinks to himself "Man I really hope for Sask's sake that he didnt loose his passport." However, even before Surashi realizes what happened a young boy runs up and strikes the gate guard right in the back of the head! "Hey new guy! Get out of here, let us handle these guys!" Shouts the young man at Surashi. "But I-" Before Surashi can finnish the sentence another young man runs between him and the gate guard. "Forget about Masah, he gets a little hot headed sometimes. But it would be a good idea to get out of here..." The young boy named Masah shouts back a retort, "Chidongan! Get your head in the game! Dont bother talking to that boy during a battle!"
With a sigh, Surashi walks off from the battle and heads into town. "I wonder what that was all about..." Surashi asks himself. "Well reguarless, I havent eaten all day, I need to find something to eat." In no time at all, Surashi finds himself the local Ramen Shop. Quickly, Surashi takes a seat and orders himself a Misu Ramen. As the ramen arrives, one boy darts off from the stand, another one close behind him shouting! "Get back here Kazbomb you cant take my wallet and get away with it!" As he says that, the boy begins emiting a strange fire from his body! This feature doesnt escape Surashi's notice.
"Hmm, interesting. I havent been here half an hour and I might have found my target already." As soon as he says that, Surashi gets up from the bar and walks off to follow the two leaving his ramen half eaten! The two run through the streets, darting back and forth all the while destroying property with reckless abandon. Surashi keeps his distance, observing the two from the shadows. "This Kazbomb is interesting, very fast and deceptive...but this other one is the true prize, I belive he is the one..."
Eventually the two make thier way to a small house near the middle of the city. Kazbomb darts into the house and locks the door behind him. "Allright Kazbomb! Open this door and give me my money back!" Shouts the man persuing Kazbomb. "No way AnimeKing! I stole it fair and square!" Shouts Kazbomb from inside the house. AnimeKing keeps pounding on the door and doesnt realize Kazbomb sneaking out the back door! Watching from the nearby tree, Surashi makes a crucial decision, "I think its time I make my move. If he isnt the one...well it wont matter if I kill him then..."
Surashi reaches to his side and un-sheiths his Katana and suddenly vanishes from the tree! As quickly as he disapears, Surashi re-appears next to AnimeKing, catching him by suprise, Surashi is able to sweep his Katana and manages to slash at his leg! "What the! Who are you and what do you want!" Exclaims Animeking as he dives out of the way. Surashi doesnt reply, he maintains his cold emotionless expression. "Well whoever you are, you dont mean well." As he says those words, AnimeKing begins emiting a strange red flame from his body which begins to concentrate around his hand.
The two combatants stare eachother down, daring eachother to make the first move. Surashi is first to break the stalemate as he charges with his Katana ready to strike. AnimeKing counters with his extended hand, shatering the blade into pieces on the ground, at the same time sending waves of fire to smash into Surashi's body. Wincing from the pain, Surashi leaps back and prepares for another attack. Before making another attack, Surashi reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small red pill which he quickly takes. Almost instantainously, Surashi's wounds are healed, and his chakra increases exponentially!
Seeing this, AnimeKing begins to once again focus his chakra into his palm. "This may be all I have, but this will end you for sure." A glowing mass or chakra develops in AnimeKing's hand, which he tosses directly at Surashi and blistering speed! Focusing his chakra into his hands, Surashi grabs the orb as it strikes him, but the mass is to agressive, it pushes Surashi back inch by inch as Surashi begins to loose his grip! With a last effort, Surashi pushes the orb to his right, sending it off in a wild spin that strikes the nearby house, destroying it instantly!
Completely exhausted from the final attack, Anime King falls over un-contious. Without waisting time, Surashi pulls out a large mysterious scroll from his back pack which he promtly opens. Before the contents of the scroll can be read, Surashi begins to spin the scroll over his head which causes a strange discharge of chakra in the surounding air! After several rotations, the scroll suddenly leaps out of Surashi's hand and hovers several feet over AnimeKing's uncontious body. The scroll begins to emit an unearthly glow as it sends down several glowing tendrils of light that attach into AnimeKing's body. After a moment, a bright glowing red orb is pulled out of AnimeKing's body and is pulled into the scroll. Its mission accomplished, the scroll rolls itself up and falls to the ground lifeless...
Quickly Surashi snatches up the scroll which he puts back into his backpack. "One down...six to go..."

Chapter 5: The Gathering
Morning dawns on the village of Konoha, the morning calm disgueses the carnage of last night. Only once people begin to stir and go about thier daily lives does anybody notice the destruction of several buildings and a body lying in the streets. As a commotion begins to gather around last nights battle site, a young man is fast asleep outside the fortified walls of Konoha.
A man finds this boy, yet he has no intention of helping. "Hmmm lets see what this guys has." The man grabs his backpack and dumps its contents all over the ground. "Hmmm all junk...but whats this?" The man picks up a large scroll. "This is interesting...I'll take it." With that, the man puts the scroll into his backpack and walks off. A few hours after the boy comes to. "Uhhh...ow that last attack that guy did had some kind of lasting effect." Mutters the semi-contious Surashi. "Well now I have it...so it doesnt matter." As he said that, Surashi reaches into his backpack...but finds that its nowhere in sight. "What the....where is it!"
Surashi looks around and finds his pack nearby, with all his stuff scatered around the area. He rummages around through his pack but finds that his scroll is nowhere in sight! A flash of anger passes by Surashi face, but Surashi calms himself by letting out a sigh. Surashi gathers up his belongings and returns them to his backpack. "I guess I have to stick around for a little longer...its a good thing nobody saw me." With Surashi wanders his way back into town.
As Surashi searches the city, he hears a commotion coming from the nearby plaza. Interested in what could be going on, Surashi pauses his search to see what might be happening. As he enters the square, Surashi finds that Masah boy fighting another young person. A young girl tries to rush between them, but Surashi reaches forward stoping her before she can get in the way. "Hey let go of me! I have to stop Masah and Ryudo before they kill eachother!" Without letting go, Surashi looks at the two preparing themselves for battle. "I wouldnt worry about those two..." Surashi says to the young girl. "I doubt they would kill eachother, besides its best if we dont get involved in this...I have seen these kind of these before."
The girl lets out a small sigh and stops struggling from Surashi's grasp. Seeing that she has given up, Surashi releases his grip on her shirt. As he does, Surashi notices that several other shinobi gathering to watch the fight, including a freelancer standing near the Ramen shop, watching from a distance. The battle between the two becomes heated, fist's and feet flying back and forth, striking and countering with every attack. Suddenly, the young boy called Ryudo leaps out of a nearby bush and charges at one of the on-lookers, delivering a powerful punch to his face! "So your the one with this strange chakra!" Shouts Ryudo at the top of his lungs! Then with a large puff of smoke, the Ryudo that was fighting Masah turns out to be one of Masah's Kage Bunshins, which quickly disipates! "Go get him Ryudo!" Shouts Masah as he collapses from his injuries.
"That fool...he was just hurting himself!" Exclaims Surashi in a rather humorus manner. "Woah! I cant belive I didnt catch that!" Exclaims the young girl. The nearby freelancer also appears to be shocked by this. "Wait! What just happend?" He shouts. "Hey you....Freelancer!" Shouts Surashi. "I think Ryudo will need help...come with me and assist...unless your too afraid!" Mocks Surashi, knowing this will get get the freelancer's blood boiling and ready to help. "My names not "Freelancer"! Its Koji! And if you wanted help all you had to do was ask!"
Surashi turns to the young girl to his right, "Listen...me and Koji over there are going to help Ryudo...you see if you can assist Masah over there...he beat himself up pretty bad there..." The girl stands there, stuned for a moment taking in everything, before replying. "Oh...right. Im on it!" The young girl dashes over to Masah with suprising speed. "Sakura...dont worry about me...help Ryudo..." Mutters Masah before collapsing entirely!
"Enough dawdling...common Koji, lets go." Barks Surashi. "Bossy bossy...Im comming." Sarcastically replies Koji. The two dart off after Ryudo and the strange man he attacked. After a few moments, the two find themselves in a small basin area with a flowing waterfall in the center.
"Where is Ryudo?" Ponders Koji. As he says that, Ryudo is suddenly shot over the nearby ridge and into the basin, slaming into a nearby rock. "That answers that question." Sarcastically states Surashi. Koji and Surashi look over and see a dark hooded figure standing ontop the ridge Ryudo was just kicked off of. "Looks like we have a fight on our hands..." Mutters Koji as he pulls out a strangly shaped Katana which glows a radiating ember hue. "Indeed." States Surashi as he pulls out two Kunai stringed together. In a flash the figure lands in the basin, un-moving and un-afraid of the new comers.
Within an instant, Surashi whips his two Kunai at the figure, on opposite sides. Both miss by a long shot, but the string between them catches the figure, pining him to the nearby soft rock! Without letting up, Surashi does a few quick hand seals, breathes in deep and lets out a strong stream of flames from his mouth, which fly towards the traped figure! As Surashi does his Katon attack, Koji begins to spin his blade, releasing blaze of fire from the tip of his Katana. The two flames meld together, and strike the foe, sending debris flying out in all directions!
As the smoke clears, the figure who was traped only a moment ago is nowhere in sight! "Could that have been a Misu Bunshin!?" Questionly states Surashi. Before he can get his answer, Surashi feels a large blunt pain in his back! The force propells him head over heels! Surashi finds himself tossed into the air, knocked away by a very powerful kick. Unable to control his flight, Surashi flies through the waterfall and falls into a cave just behind it. As he staggers back to his feet, Surashi notices that his body isnt wet! Which is very strange...since he just got thrown through a Waterfall!
Suddenly, from behind, Surashi hears the sounds of somebody talking. Surashi looks down the mouth of the cave, and notices that the back of the cave isnt what it seems! What appears to be solid rock, gives way to gentle pressure, spreading around Surashi's hand like water! Realizing that its a Genjutsu Barrier, Surashi peeks his head through the other side. On the other side, Surashi sees lights from torches and hears the voice of a man in the cave. But as Surashi explores deeper, Surashi finds there are many dozens of people hiding down in the cave. They seem to be guarding a large stock pile of weapons and other things, including Surashi's scroll!
"Well...it looks like I found my scroll. However, getting past all of those men could be troublesome...I better get some help." Thinks Surashi. Suddenly, Surashi remembers the fight that is happening just outside! Without hesitating, Surashi darts off back through the two Genjutsu Barriers and finds himself outside. But, nobody is in sight, it is as if the battle had already ended....but in who's favor? Many questions run through Surashi' mind, but since the battle is over, Surashi returns to Konoha, looking for people to help with his..."errand".

Chapter 6: The Cave of Shadows
Night has set on the village of Konoha, many have already returned to their homes for some well earned rest. However, not all have turned in, there is a small house near the city wall where people are well awake. “Thanks for letting me stay for the night Ryudo.” Calls out Koji as he walks out the door of the home. “I’m going out for some air, be back in a bit.”
As Koji steps outside he hears the voice of a person behind him. “Hey Koji, whats up?” Koji turns and finds Surashi leaning against the nearby wall. “Oh its just you Surashi, I thought it was another attack.” Replies Koji with a sigh of relief. “Hey…what happened to you during that fight? You just disappeared!” Questions Koji. “It’s a long story, one that you will easily learn later, but for now…I have a job for you.” Confidently replies Surashi as he walks over to Koji.
“A job? What kind of job?” Ponders Koji. “A dangerous one…it seems I have located a bandit hideout at the outskirts of Konoha.” States Surashi. “Its not an official mission from the Hokage…but still there are rewards.” Before Surashi is able to continue Koji quickly jumps in. “What kind of rewards are we talking about here?” Surashi lets out a small chuckle then continues. “You’re a funny guy Koji…Anyway while I was “scouting” the cave I found a large stock pile of weapons, money and other things of that nature. If you help me eliminate the guards…I’ll split the stock pile with you.”
Koji ponders this for a moment, taking in all that Surashi said. “Allright…Im in.” Before Surashi can reply there is another voice that comes from the nearby house. “Well this sounds interesting…mind if I join you two?” Koji and Surashi turn to see Masah standing in the doorway. “I suppose so, having another person would help and make things easier.” Reluctantly replies Surashi. With that, the trio runs off back to the Ravine, back to the Bandit Hideout.
The group arrives at the ravine in no time. “Ok Surashi…I don’t see a cave anywhere…” Mockingly states Koji. “Its behind the waterfall. In fact its not even a waterfall, it’s a Genjutsu Barrier that is made to LOOK like a Waterfall. And behind that is another Genjutsu Barrier that looks like a rock wall.” States Surashi. “Two barriers? Somebody really doesn’t want us in.” States Masah. “Just remember, most of these guys don’t appear to be anything more then local thugs…but somebody had to put up those barriers…we may have to fight another Shinobi in there.” With that, the tree enter the cave through the two barriers.
As the three enter the cave, they see a flickering light deep in the cave. They also hear several voices coming from the same area. “Ok we should proceed stealthily from here on out..” Whisper’s Surashi to Koji and Masah. At that, Masah concentrates his chakra to his feet and hands and begins to climb up the ceiling of the cave to get a better look. However, as he reaches the height of the cave, he looses his grip and plummets to the floor with a loud *THUD*. This echo’s down the halls of the cave and alerts several bandits to their location!
“Geeze Masah you fool!” Shouts Koji as he pulls his Katana from its Sheath. “My bad guys, sorry.” Says a rather embarrassed Masah as he regains his footing. “Well it looks like stealth is out…time for some fun.” Moans Surashi as he pulls out several Kunai from his pocket.
Koji is the first to act, he summons forth a blaze of fire from the tip of his Katana that burns right through several inbound bandits! Not wanting to be outdone, Surashi tosses several Kunai down the hall way, each strikes a bandit in a critical area thus dropping them easily. Masah quickly does a few hand seals, suddenly several clones of him appear around the area. “Ok take a load of my Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!” Shouts Masah confidently. “It cant be! How could that boy know Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!?” Exclaims a rather worried Bandit. With the flick of his hand, Masah orders his Bunshins on a collision course with the bandits!
The bandits get out their Kunai and prepare for an all out brawl. But they are all thrown off balance as Masah’s Kage Bunshins run right through them without stoping! “Hey! That was no Kage Bunshin! That was just a dumb old regular Bunshin!” Shockingly shouts a Bandit. “Good guess moron. Nice distraction Masah.” Shouts Koji as he and Surashi appear behind the bandit group. Before they have time to react, both Koji and Surashi strike, toppling several of them with impunity! After that, an all out brawn takes place.
During the long fight Koji suddenly is struck by some kind of purple wall! “What is this?...a Barrier!” Koji looks around and notices that in the corner of the room is a man performing hand seals. “So that’s the guy who set up the barriers…” Mutters Koji to himself. “Hey Surashi! Take that guy out!” Shouts Koji as he points to the man performing the Jutsu’s. Seeing this, Surashi finishes off another bandit and whips out his Fuuma Shuriken. With the Jutsu User momentarily distracted by Koji, Surashi leaps at him, Shuriken ready to strike the man down. Surashi is almost upon the still un-aware man, but suddenly another bandit jumps in Surashi’s way and takes the blow for the man!
Surashi tries desperately to remove his Shuriken from the dying man’s body…but to no avail, it is stuck fast. Another bad turn, this stall has given the man time to spot Surashi and prepare a Jutsu. Forgoing the Shuriken, Surashi focuses his chakra into his fist, preparing for a devastating blow. But just before Surashi connects with his punch, a large purple wall appears in front of him, blocking the attack! “Darnit…this wont stop me!” Shouts Surashi as he drives his fist into the barrier. Slowly it begins to buckle under the strain until it shatters!
Surashi then prepares for his direct attack, but when he looks, he finds that Koji already has the man! “Sorry Surashi…I just had a clear shot.” Cockily states Koji. Suddenly, the group notices that with the death of the Jutsu User, all the other bandits…even the dead ones are no longer in sight! “What kind of Jutsu is that? They weren’t real…but they had physical form and had blood and everything!” States a very puzzled Masah. “Oh well…it doesn’t matter, lets collect our reward and get out of here.” Says Koji as he walks over to the stockpile of equipment. As he walks up he notices that Surashi has only taken one thing…a solitary scroll. “Hey man…aren’t you going to take anything else?”
“Nah…Im good. I have everything I need.” With that, Surashi walks out of the cave and back to Konoha. Surashi reaches the Gates of Konoha and realizes that the scroll he just re-gained is glowing. “Hmm already? Well I suppose its time to head out.” Surashi turns on his heels and walks off back into the forest…

Chapter 7: A Team of Three
For several days an air of tension is beginning to swell in the village of Konoha. The air is thick with it…something big is coming…soon. A cloaked figure stands at the gates of Konoha with an ominous presence. “Hmmm Konoha feels different since I left about a week ago. I wonder what could be going on…” The cloaked man mutters to himself. The man walks through the gates of Konoha and is confronted by Two Gate Guards.
“Hello Sir, whats your business---“ Before he can finish the cloaked man pulls out a passport and hands it to the guard. The guard looks it over and hands it back quickly. “Oh hello Surashi…back already? Just try not to cause such a ruckus this time…my head still hurts from last time.” Says the Guard as he rubs the back of his neck. “I cant make any promises…” Mocks Surashi as he walks past.
Surashi walks through the streets of Konoha, looking for the Ramen Shop. He has been on the road for a while and he could use something to eat. As he walks through an alley he sees something attached to a sign post. Quickly, Surashi reaches out and pulls it from sign post and reads it over. “Calling all Gennin Shinobi! Coming next week the Semi-Annual Chuunin Exam is coming to Konoha! Prepare your gear and your skills! Teams of Three are required to join.”
“Hmm…interesting…so this is what all the buzz is about.” Surashi thinks to himself. Suddenly a voice is heard from above. “I see you have your eye on the Chuunin Exam stranger.” Surashi looks above him and sees a boy about his age on a nearby roof top. In a flash the boy jumps down to street level. “Yup that’s an important event that’s coming to Konoha. So are you going to watch…or join?” Says the young man. Surashi ponders this over for a few moments before replying. “Well…I was hoping to throw my hat in…but I don’t have a team. So I doubt I would be eligible.” Reluctantly states Surashi. “Well you are in luck. Because I too am teamless! Perhaps we can join forces…at least for this exam.” Replies the confident young man. But before Surashi can reply, the young man jumps in again. “Oh where are my manners. My name is Chikari.” Chikari extends his hand in a friendly gesture.
Surashi looks down at the hand, and after a moment he takes his hand in a hand shake. “You can call me Surashi.” Says Surashi. “Well its good to meet you. We still need one more teammate though.” States Chikari deep in thought. “Well, I was heading to the Ramen shop…that’s a popular place around here. Perhaps we can pick up another member there.” Surashi says after a moment. Both in agreement, they head to the Ramen Shop.
Once they arrive they find that there is only one other person sitting at the shop. “Eh…might as well ask this guy. Do you know him Chikari?” Questions Surashi as he turns to Chikari. “Me? No I don’t know him. But it wouldn’t hurt to ask.” Replies Chikari. They walk up to the man, but find that he has fallen asleep in his ramen bowl! Slightly stunned that somebody could actually sleep in the bowl of ramen, it takes a few seconds for them to do anything. “Um….should we save him or something…it would be a shame if he drowned in 3 inches of Ramen broth…” Says a confused Surashi. Chikari pushes the mans shoulder until he wakes up. “Huh who’s there!?” Exclaims the man as he wakes up.
“We just saved you from drowning.” Replies Chikari. “Did you now? Well that’s nice of you.” Says the man as he returns to eating the Ramen he just woke up from. “We were wondering if you were going to join the Chuunin Exam actually.” Says Surashi to the man as he eats the cold ramen. “Hmmm…actually yes I am, but I don’t have a team so we wont be able to see each other…since I wont be attending.” Says the man, his mouth half full of ramen. “Well that’s fortunate…because we are one member short. You think you are up for it?” Says Chikari to the man who finishes his old ramen. “Would I ever!” The man hops up from his seat. “Mercenary Chidongan ready for duty!”
“Hey…since we are all a team now. What do you guys think of doing an official mission?” Chikari asks the group. “Well that sounds good to me…I could use the extra money as well. This would be a good way for us to evaluate eachother’s skills.” Replies Surashi. “Cool lets go!” Shouts Chidongan as he walks off to the Hokage’s Office.

More to come in the future. Thoughts comments?
[End of Chapter]
