with me its either a normal dream or a nightmare involving shadow looking thing with red eye's or some kind of degenerate looking humanoid shaped thing think of 2 eyes and the left eye was covered in skin the rest of the face cant remember it but degenerate o_O (a foggy memory but a memory none the less lol) heck i even had dreams were i was attacked (well i wont mention by whome lol) and stuff like that

and stuff and it was like combined with a movie that was called "Clueless"

When I was 10 I had a recurring dream that I dreamed every night for a about a month, It was so bad I had to go to a Psychologist and I was hypnotised so i didnt dream it again. Here is what the dream was: It starts off, in a huge fenced off area in the middle of the ocean, and I am in it, with thousands of sharks, and as each one bites me, the one that bit me gets bitten, till all thats left is blood covering this little fenced area of the ocean, and then a weird white light and then I remeber crystal clear water thats shallow, and a huge skeleton of a shark made of rusted copper metal, and inside the skeleton is a skeleton of a child, and my favourite cap on top of the skeleton.

The dream really freaked me out, and even typing this i am getting a little anxious...

once i had this dream where i was in my room. i was playing my 360 and my mom for some odd reason kept going outside when it was like 3 O'clock ... i walked outside cause i was like wtf? and she said "they keep opening the jeep door!!!!" and i shut and locked it and went inside and it opened again. i shut it again and i went inside but while walking up to my house door my window was wide open and my curtains were blowing out of my room i was like wtf? and when i walked into my room the window was shut.. so i walked back out side but going through the hallway a dining room chair was in the middle of it and my mom was shutting the jeep door and crying because people keep opening it. i put the chair back in the dining room the jeep door opened again. i went to shut it and bam my window was open the chair was in the hallway and the jeep door was open and i woke up... it felt so real, i was all sweaty looking around like crazy, checking my window, i was too scared to leave my room in the dark because the chair might be out there...... so i woke up at around 4 and didnt get back to sleep....... that night sucked specially cause it was a school night

i envy those who say they don't dream much!!! i dream pretty much everyday, about 4-5 dreams and i remember much of all of them. i hate that. when i'm really sick or i was so sad i went to sleep after a night of crying, i'm so knocked out that i don't dream at all. and i wake up feeling soooo rested. but otherwise, i always dream. specially when i'm working on a proyect or program i'm doing. i usually work before going to bed, and when i go to bed, i keep programing in my head! it's obnoxious. no wonder the mathematician from a beautiful mind went crazy! it's like you can't pull the plug.

or when i did something i regret i keep playing the tape of the day in my head. and then i have dreams that are worst that nightmares. the recurring dreams. in this dream you do exactly the same thing over and over and over again. the worst thing, it that you repeat the dream so many times, you are actually conscious in your dream that your dreaming, but can't seem to get out of recurring actions! agh!!! just talking of them makes me want to puke. i usually get those after test week!!!

nightmares, i believe, are very attached to a persons feelings or things he's resently seen. although not true for everyone. i can't go to the movies and see a scary movie, cuz i will dream of it, and it won't be pretty!!!

i hate that i always dream and always remember. T___T

Usually, my dreams consist of people being mauled and eaten by cute (not so little), fuzzy animals. Particularly rabbits, they are almost staples in my dreams. They usually are about the size of horses and particularly like to eat peoples heads. They like the brains....alot. And weasels....lots of man eating weasels in my dreams.

And yet oddly enough, the actually large dangerous animals are placid and nice and can be delt with easily. In my dreams its the small cute animals that you have to be afraid of.

I dream like 5/6 times per week and I actually like my dreams, Sometimes they're about people I like (Like TNova said) or sometimes they're just either weird or thrilling dreams...

I once had this dream where there were like mosters in town, and it was the end of the world, and then they killed my mom, and somehow just like 5 people and me survived the whole massacre... It was a weird dream but I somehow like it.

It is said that the average person dreams 30-50 dreams a night, if not more, but only remembers the odd one or two.

When you say you don't dream, it's a safer assumption to say you don't remember your dreams, if you have them. Unless you were aware of this knowledge and already combed your subconscious to verify the assumption ^^;;

When I used to dream, they were always very lucid. I had conscious control in every one, and often control of my surroundings. Say, if I didn't like the environment, i'd will it to be something more comfortable or exciting.
However, for the past 5-6 months I haven't been dreaming. For very personal reasons >.<

Seems to have started up again, due to certain interpersonal influences. (You know who you are)

No, they can sufficiently map the activity to pinpoint the precise beginning and end of a dream. I wouldn't know the specifics, i'm not a neurologist ^^;;
I do know, though, that current technology is not so unrealistically far off of translating this activity into images. Meaning, it is plausible to be able to view another's dream as if watching a movie. (although not ACTUALLY like a movie. Not all of it would be concievable, for we don't exactly dream as if watching a visual sequence in realtime.)

as far as i rememebr it goes back and forth with me. actually a lot of the times especially with dreams where theres a lot of things going on i see myself from third person, like the main character in a book, the camera always follows them but it isnt quite from thier own perspective

Yeah, the falling dream is common, I have it when I'm on the edge of my bed and about to fall off.

I can't remember the last time I was able to dream... All I see is the blackness that is my closed eyes that is to be all I see one day...

Then again I only typically sleep 3-4 hours a day... perhaps taht has somethign to do with my lack of reaming.

I unfortunately can only remember bits and pieces though. The first thing i remember is going to my cousins house, but it wasnt my cousins house although the house seemed familiar and their house was decorated for Halloween and their couch was outside O.O and when i told my cousin i had to pick sumthng up from her for my mum she handed me a pair of etnies she colored in with a sharpie >.> then we all went to the fabric store and i was disappointed that they didnt have pacman fabric or something its hard to remember, anyway we took all the fabric we bought and hung it on a coat hanger and called it our christmas tree. The next thing i know its Christmas day and im haveing a panic attack all of a sudden and idk why so i call Chid and hes at an Ikea eating chinese food lol i know COMPLETELY weird XD (I told chid along time ago when it happened tho lol :p generally if i have a dream bout someone ill tell them, and besides i chat w.him daily anyway lol XD)

If I am not mistaken you are capapble of dreaming without entering REM. Could be mistaken .. I'll just have to go read up on some medical sites/forums.

And I had this one really freaky dream back like 7-8 years ago. I don't remember all of it, just that I fell off of a cliff and landed on my back. I woke up just as I landed and noticed that I was on the floor, and my back was aching.

my dream started with me playing baseball for some team... and i hit a nice hit and blah blah... and there were baseball ppl spitting in the dugout (nasty lol) and then I kept going out through this door thing and ending up on some street and i kept going down hill for some reason and then running back cuz some blakc guys wanted to mug me

and one of emwas like "Gimme your white shoes!!"

and after that it changes to some room or soemthing and there's these two chicks .. oh it was starbucks... and i start talking to this lady and she's like.. here's my number call me, and I wanted to go to her house to .. u know .. do the deed , but didn't for some reason

and THEN the scene changes to a simpson episdoe (Lol) where home stole christmas xcept this time he returned the trees to the people adn some of em were really dry and old and all of a sudden santa claus flew by and magically made the trees pretty

and Im like OH SANTA IS REAL ! and we start chasing him and there's this huuuuuuuege steep hill im standing on top of with my friend and some chick... and we write something to santa and are like "We wish that that girls find s her true love" and we throw it down to Santa and he suddenly disappears

and we're like HOLLY CRAP ?! and go donw there and it was not santa, it was some bum pretending to be him and he runs away !! and then some people come and are being mean to us and i punch a guy and get tackled by his friends and the guy i punched tries to stab me witha pencil (lol)

and then for some reason we put on this army gear and get guns and go into some caves that were nearby and there is a dude there who shoots at us and we all run and blah and fight and they all die and I go down intot he cave and there's more arabs there (lol yeah, arabs) and they find me hiding under a table (i was being sneaky) and one points a gun at me and im like "Oh crap Im gunna die !!" but

but suddenly I look up and they are all dead, and then this chick comes and she's hot and i spank her (lol) and she sends some dolphin to attack me and i turn into a proxy (lol) and kick the dolphin's ass and lock it in a shower cuz it needed water

and i spank that chick some more and we go upstairs and it's war.. but everyone is calm and we are going to battle and she lets me drive her BMW and i get in and start it and a tire blows out and the dream ends with me changing the tire

Similar to me, though once or twice a week I usually do fall asleep for 10+ hours. So about 2 times out of the month I have dreams that I can recall.

you should read Freud's book on the interpretation of dreams...it's about confronting things we're unable to in real life..the one's we don't remember are the issues we've put to rest while we remember the ones that havent been resolved

try to think about remembering the dream before you fall asleep
and then if you DO remember right it down as soon as possible


it will help with remembering the dreams. When I was doing that I practically remember every nights' dream. When I stopped writing it down I also stopped remembering them.

Isn't Freud the one who said every dream is sexual?Not just every dream lol everything else too :p and i studied dreaming in psych and depending on how much time you sleep you go thru different sleep stages and REM is where u dream and u have several dreams a night because the sleep cycle is a continuous cycle so u go into REM more than once ^_^

Last night I dreamed I was a construction worker, building a... well, a building. All of us construction workers were fooling around on the multi-story building, like jumping from I-beam to I-beam or bouncing on rolled up wire and stupid stuff like that. And a lady fell and landed on a chair, that was kind of like a dining chair.
So I ran down to see if she was okay. She didn't move so I took her construction hat off to see her face and her head came off with it. So her neck must have hit the back of the chair and it decapitated her.

It was kind of gross. Cause my dreams are always so vivid and realistic.

Here is a dream a had earlier, it was pretty cool. I forgot most of it and it was much longer actually. I should have wrote it down as soon as I woke up but I was too lazy to turn on the PC. Don't mind the shitty syntax and how it goes from present to past tense out of nowhere.


There seems to be a commotion at a park of some sort. The park has a distinct shape, there is a field in the middle and it is surrounded by ascending slopes on all four sides. I am watching a group of strange people that are performing a ritual in the center of the park. They are dressed in robes and wear masks and they chant strange unrecognizable words and move around choreographically and in sync. Then some strange woman walks down to the center and tries to foil their ritual by moving around and getting in the people's way. This action just upsets the people in masks but they continue with their plans anyway. I decide I had enough so I leave somewhere and end up being lured into some housing complex where there seems to be a popular ride that leads you through a maze. I take the ride and I sit inside a wagon similar to those found in mines. The entire experience of the ride feels like a video game as there are impossible turns and the wagon can climb vertically up walls and do unbelievable maneuvers. The whole thing seems strange and I somehow end up walking through the maze and as I keep turning around, even though no one seems to be following me, I hear scary music in my head sort of similar to Jaws and it gets faster and faster, as I run faster and faster toward the exit while looking back, feeling a presence that is about to get me. I escape out of the door into city streets, it is already dark outside. I walk into my best friend H, and we start talking. I tell him about the maze I just went through and that he should go check it out. Suddenly an engineer from Team Fortress 2 comes out of the doorway and starts chasing us. I don't know why but we started running away and all of a sudden the topic came up that I was having a dream. I told H thanks for snapping me into consciousness, I knew that this seemed strange, especially when I saw an Engineer. H said, I'm glad to help out. As he said this I told him that we should get the hell out of this whack scenario so we proceeded to jump miles into the air like the Hulk, jumping rooftops to get to a random destination. After losing control of this ability we ended up in a room I couldn't really recognize but it seemed nostalgic. We start doing things that we can't do in reality, things that prove that we are in a dream. H shows his dis-contempt by telling me that the experience sucks and that it's up to me what happens, and that if I wanted to I could be having sex with anyone and doing things that he couldn't possibly do. The dialog seemed so strange and made me wonder how it is a person in my dream can communicate with me and even show emotions while I couldn't even respond anymore. It felt scary that I was not going to be coming out of this dream, that I was stuck there for good. Then after assuming I should have total control in this world I began to test my powers. I came across a wet tissue paper and tried to dry it in my hands, no matter how hard I concentrated I couldn't do it, for some reason I wasn't questioning what was happening anymore (this is probably when I lost the lucidity of the dream and it just took over in its own direction.) Meanwhile H folded a piece of paper and snapped it back into shape and said look, if you think about your social security number, it is gonna appear on the page after you snap it back in place. So I tried it and there it was, a bunch of social security numbers, and they all seemed recognizable. After staring at the page for a minute or so, H gave me a worried look and said... this is scary man. And as he finished those bitter words, panic shot through me and I began teleporting through hideous scenery and I lost control, the last words I heard from H were: holy shit! what the fuck are you doing!? The last scene I saw was me lying down, my figure was transparent and colored white, like a doll. Having view of only my arm that was frozen in perpetual time, and I heard myself trying to speak, trying to call out for help to snap me back into reality. I was paralyzed yet I felt myself lying in a bed, hearing the surrounding outside, hearing myself trying to whisper something that could alert someone. After about a minute of this I snapped back into consciousness and I was out of the dream.

I once had a dream that I was in a Lord of the Rings type demension and I could turn into a dragon. In the dream, I had a brother who was corrupted by a spell and we fought in this floating sky castle, the last thing I remember from the dream is that I dived into a barricaded ... thing of water that was too small for my brother to enter, but as soon as I got out, he bit my neck and started to choak me. I woke up at that moment.

The weird thing is, the entire dream looked like it was made from CGI. I'm serious. It felt like I was watching a movie at the Imax theater.

Another thing. It also felt like my brother was half trying to kill me, half trying to mate with me. And I don't have any siblings in real life, so don't blame it on me having feelings for a non-existent brother.

Most of my dreams are really weird in that once the dream reach's a certain part, the ENTIRE dream restarts itself and I have to redo the dream exactly from memory or find a way in which the new sequence is beter than the first or else it keeps rewinding itself. For some reason, I'm always concious of my mind in dreams. I'm capable of thought, memory, imagination. I swear if you were watching some of them you would think I was dreaming an entire anime episode, or even life itself! That how weird it is.

And i'd hide wherever i could, and i'd curl into a ball and shut my eyes. There would be a loud crash, i'd fall to the carpet floor, and then all the sounds would fade. Then i'd open my eyes and i'd wake up.

I had a dream similar to that a few days ago. I dreamed that I was in the middle of one of my sleep habits, waking up for absolutely no reason multiple time in one night. I wake up once its 1:36, another it's 3:15, then it's 6:50 and my parents are awake on a WEEKEND. I wake up, and its 4:57. Then the real life habit kicks in and I wake up at 7:23. I'm like, "If I wake up one more time and it's before 11:00, I'm going to scream." I wake up, and low and behold, its 10:59. I go back to sleep and wake up at noon-ish.

Let's just say that that was the first night of sleep that actually left me tired...
