now that it takes longer to download, like 10+ hours even if you have cable, could we use some sort of download manager? it seems that the downloads always stop in the middle somewhere and eventually end up as corrupted files. Any advice from the staff?? thanx, I really appreciate it

Note: Dont just go into a site looking for freebies. Look for rules for downloads before downloading. Some sites require registration before you can download. Some require a couple of posts. It takes a lot of energy and effort compiling lists and links and setting them up on servers for your entertainment. Whenever I download a BitTorrent file it always seems to finish in about a second, and when I open it, it's only like 1-5 kb. It's usually just a text file, or some useless crap. So do I have to do something extra or what?

are you right clicking and selecting "Save as.." because that could be your problem. by doing that you're just saving the link. Other than that I really don't know.

its normally a .torrent file and if you have installed bittorrent it should automatically open with bittorrent.
if not: try to open it with bittorrent

torrent files arn't actually the episode
they include information on what tracker to connect to to start downloading the file. you need to get the bittorrent client to download bittorrent files.

it sounds like your using the official BitTorrent client. Try one of the other clients like BitTornado or Azureus, you can get awesome speeds off those.

thats completly normal.. it may take a few minutes to start downloading after you open it. "Connecting to peers" indicates that your client is connecting to the tracker which will tell it who to connect to and what to start downloading. another problem could be that if noone is "seeding" the torrent (leaving the window open after their dl finishes), it will say connecting forever and never download.

Maybe you're not using it correctly. Here is how to use BitTorrent.
1. Download BitTorrent (you can also use other programs, but this is just to make it easier) from http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/download.html
2. Install it.
3. Go to a website with torrent files. When you download the torrent file, BitTorrent should open
4. It will ask you where to save to. Choose somewhere
5. Wait for it to connect to peers. Yes it sometimes takes a while. Be paitent.
6. When it's done watch it :D

ALSO.... MOST anime episodes will NOT PLAY if you don't have DivX (http://www.divx.com) or XviD installed.

Make sure you check the tracker too, to see how many people are seeding the anime. Sometimes the reason it wont connect is because there are no seeders.

Yeah but it doesn't give an error with that... it just sits there and doesn't do anything. If the tracker is down then it will give error (111 i think). You can just click ok because it keeps trying to connect.

yeah if you feel like waiting 5 years for a file to finish... and then it stops like at 99% and you gotta download it again. I use g3 torrent on windows (sooo many features and FAST-- not like azureus) and regular bittorrent client in linux (which i use a lot more)

You do know , after you dl'ed the torrent , you have to dl the actual ep with something like Shareaza or Azureus (or something like that)

Well , i'm not sure who you're going to ask , but , if you're using torrents , after a while they take of the trackers (or something like that), meaning , there's no reasources to dl the eps from.
So, you'll have to ask someone in charge of "making" the torrents to add a few sources (or something) for ya , so you can finish dl'ing the ep

If you want to seed episodes that are not registered on the tracker yet, please create the torrent-files with Azureus or something else using the announce-URL stated above. To upload the torrent-file you created just register on the tracker-mainpage and use the form on the upload-page.

I hope that this backup tracker will help the batchtorrents not to die.

The announce-URL is ONLY used for creating the torrents. For example when there is a user who wants to seed the Eps 51-75. You, as a normal seeder/leecher, just need the torrent-files :D
If you try to connect to the announce-URL via a normal browser you get this message.

So don't worry about it and start the downloads. Oh yeah and hoping for more seeders wouldn't be so bad either ;)

I posted where you could get them before (I'm not sure if you saw it or not) but it got deleted. You probably wont find the exact same torrent, your best bet is to find out what episodes you have a continue downloading from then on. Or if you didn't get any full episodes your best bet would be to just start the download again. If you want the website that has the episodes PM me or e-mail me, also I'm currently on MSN for ~1 hour after this post.

Because with bittorrent no matter what i do or have tried (besides oopening up ports or w/e) has not worked i can only get a max of 20 kbs on a good day(more like on a good 20 minutes) And the rest of the time its under 9 kbs

u shouldnt just turn off ur firewall for downloads i will advise u keep it on always- i always have mine on and dont have problems downloading with bittorrent

just let ur firewall make ur bittorrent client an exception

but if the speed hasnt changed then it might be ur bandwidth or from the source of the file. Let me tell u something i am still downloading a batch file of One Piece and it has been going on for 2 whole weeks but it is allmost done
so at times u just have to patient so far as the client is working
i will also advice that u set ur download or upload rates to unlimited or 0

Heres the Bittorrent clients I like, in order from best to worst:

Bit Tornado
Bit Comet
Azureus
Bit Lord
Bit Torrent

Search google for any of those, the first link will be the right one. Then just install and download.

To get the best speeds, try each of these clients, (or at least the top 3) and see which one gets the best speeds, then play around with the settings.

Bittorrent is a way of sharing files. You download a torrent program (I recomend Bittornado) and a torrent file. You will then start to download the file listed in the torrent from everyone else currently using the same torrent file.

So basically as you download, you also upload; as others give data to you, you give them data also.

Well the settings I use would be different than the ones you should be using. What speed are you getting right now? Even like 10kB/s on dialup is fast. I got high speed cable and I get about 5 times the average user speed, so usually around 120kB/s.

Three reasons.
1. Your uploading option is set to unlimited. (Always a bad thing; I would recommend you set it about 20/25kbs)
2. There aren;t even seeders.. (The time people upload anime varies because of the different time zones)
3. Slow connection >_<

5. Your using a crappy torrent client. I'd reccomend using Bittornado, Mousie would say BitComet. Some people also use Azureus. Try whichever you want, just google the name to download.

bit comet lets you manage files similar to a Download Manager. You can also make torrent files but so far I have only found it (my own made torrent files) to work with others who have bit comet. Thought it DOES download public torrents given via websites.
There is also Bit tornado etc.

the speed of downloads is baseds on how many people are seeding it. if you have a low download rate, its because there arent many people seeding it. Just give it time though. People seed at different throughout the day making it fast and/or slow

no double posting- if you want to add/post a comment, so far as you are the last to post in a thread- use the edit button. this will quote ur original post (which is also the last post in the thread) and then you add what you want.

anyways, azureus is not the only bittorrent program. i wrote a tutorial on how to use bittorent but it looks like it has been removed since the virus attack. oh well!!

other famous torrent programs/clients are bittornado and bitcomet. i personally use bittornado.

a torrent client(i.e bittornado, comet, etc) is just a program that allows you to download a file formatted with the torrent protocol. so this waht you do
1) first download and install any one of the clients/programs above

2) then look for a torrent file to download. this file is just a small program that links you to the actual full-sized file been stored on a net-server, host or hub. u usually right click and save this .torrent file(very small size) to a folder on ur computer.

3) after saving the .torrent file (to say naruto episode 175 on the dattebayo website) on ur computer, you then open this file with your installed client. ie Right click the .torrent file. then click "open with", and then click on the installed client (bittornado, etc) to open this file. The client will then link you to other people sharing or downloading this particular file from the same hub/host. you will then be able to download naruto 175 on the dattebayo hub in packets(small batches) been given to you by others sharing(seeders) or downloading(leechers) the file. zero seeders/leechers means you will have to wait soo long to download the file.


after the download you can watch the file in its original format and size(avi, etc() with your player(say VLC PLAYER)

this should do for now- you can go to www.download.com and search for any free download for the bittorrent clients. theyare all free. dont pay squat

How do u get more Seeds? unfortunately, unlike some other direct download p2p programmes like MIRC and DC++ u have no way of requesting or asking anyone to seed a file you want.

so, what this is,is that unless someone with the same torrent you are sharing/downloading decides to come online and share/download the same torrent u are looking for there wouldnt be any seeders/leechers (read the site i provided above for explanations on these terms). so it is by choice. thats why most sites advice downloaders to leave their download window/torrent open after their download is complete. The more the seeders/leechers the easier it is to get parts of what you want of a file on the net.

Well, you need the Torrent Client. Then download the file(s) you want, and plug them into the Client. It is then a long, long process to actually extract all the individual episodes: It took 14 days for me to get the first 50 episodes.

i use bitcomet to unpack them. torrents are like lets say .zip files, but much much MUCH smaller, comprimated files that'll say. search on google for bitcomet and dl it on their site.

1) Download a bittorrent manager if you haven't already. Here is a link to one of them that I use: http://www.bittorrent.com/download.html
Download the latest version.

2) Open up the bittorrent

3) Find the file you want to torrent.

4) Click on it and it will appear on the bittorrent manager.

5) Until it reaches 100%, then it's not done yet.

6) If you see that it goes to 100+ such as 120 or something, it means that you're seeding which will allow the file to transfer faster for the other people when they try to torrent the file.

7) If it's not downloading for you then it means:
a) The torrent file is no longer active and is removed.
or
b) There are not enough seeders or none at all.

That's basically all you need to know.

well, finding seeds using torrents on a forum such as this is simple: just ask in the help,download or manga spam zones for seeders to seed the file you want. So, since you already made a thread about it here, just change the title to something like "SEEDS PLEASE". And then in ur first post indicate the files you want seeders for.


this is how torrent works. there is a file hosted on a hub. a person creates a torrent file so that anyone who wants the file can use that torrent file to link to others and share the actual file. so, the torrent file you download, from maybe the main chaos site, is just like a ticket to give you access to other guys who have certain parts of the actual file you want. That is why the torrent file is so tiny as compared to the actual file. Seeders are those persons who have all the parts of the file you want, and leechers ae those including you that have part of the file you want. But You cannot directly ask anyone who has all or part of the file to share unless the person is actually sharing the file using his torrent file(ticket). That is why people are advised to leave their torrents open after they finish downloading a file so that others can get the parts they want.

To open the tiny torrent file, you need a torrent client (think of it as a plane while the torrent file is the plane ticket. Or think of the client as a player/program like windows media player which allows you to download the actual file). So after dowloading your torrent file onto a folder on your harddisk(say the desktop), you open it with your torrent client(player). if there are people sharing the file online, the player links you to them and then you start getting parts of the file.

so it looks like you already have the original bram cohen bittorrent client. there are others. Most people usually have two and one is their best. Try and add one of these: bittornado, bitlord, azureus, bitcomet, etc. Go to soundforge or download.com or google the one you want for free download and install it. Read about them too- they have FAQ's on their websites.

you can try other naruto manga download sites like http://www.stoptazmo.com/, www.narutofan.com, etc some of them you will have to register at no charge for free download.

I dont know if its just me. I downloaded bittorrent from bittorrent.com. ok so thats done. i have it open and goto narutochaos.com. i get into downloads/anime/English Episodes/bittorrent area and clicked on Episode 001 - 025.

ok good so far. I click on the download from main sever. after i click that it just displays Page cannot be displayed.

Am i doing something wrong?

I'm downloading episodes via bittorent and one's at 44hours the other is at 10 hours,how do i make it go faster cause i know i can, awhile ago it was around 70-100kb/sec(days ago)now it is below 1kb/sec :(, and I do have my firewall shutdown, but do have a new router but it was the same before I got it

bittorrents are completely random as far as speed. It totally depends on the peers you connect to. You could end up connecting to 20-50 users that are just leaching the file and only sharing less then 1KB per user.

That's the downside to bt :P

and before you go on using torrents- try and read on some of the discussions on torrents and what to expect when using them in this section (and i think the Help section too)

anyways- always give the main server some patience and try again. those dl'S are for free after all. Also as suggested above try other download sites if direct download or torrents on this site doesnt work for you. if you check this section u will find a lot of direct download sites.

I find utorrent is better but you may have to forward a port for it.
Go to "options" then "speed guide" and you can run a test to find out if it has been forwarded properly and if it hasn't it will provide a link to a site that will guide you through it.

If I'm not completely lost I'd say that it's the torrent software you use, you know, Azureus, Bitcomet, Bitlord etc. etc., Azureus is banned from some trackers and I'd say that you should download Bitcomet, it's a great torrent software.

I know direct downloads are wonderful. But I must insist that more people get a bit client. I took a screenshot of my average download speed. It is in hopes that it might help get some of you more intrested in getting a client.

The speed is acceptable, since you're downloading 5 different things and getting it up to ~500kb/s is okay.

Yes I got an awesome speed once I don't even know what it was. The file was a couple GBs. And it finished in an hour or two. I have a torrent for Rurouni Kenshin episode 1-95 but it is a 30GB download. I can email it to you if you PM me your email or yahoo messenger ID.

i am gonna send you to an already existing thread about this issue.
if you havent set your firewall to accept the bittorrent program then go to: start--control panel--windows firewall--click on exceptions-- add program- then the bittorrent client you are using.

if you cant find your firewall use the help and support button for your OS to find it.

me and a few of my friends are building a small anime website and we'd like to have some BitTorrents either directed from the site or ones you download and can use when ever.

my question is how do i either create BitTorrents and also how do i use them so i can put them on a website.....the BitTorrent program i have is BitComet but i dont know much about it except how to download BitTorrents from websites and such.

so i'd apriciate it alot if you could help me....

NarutoChaos doesn't upload the torrents, it's redirects.

Upload them on mininova.org or some other torrent website and then just link to it. Of course it'll be slow download for the users in the beginning but if you get more members/downloaders some of them will propably seed it.

the blah.avi.torrent is a tracker.
it is not a blah.avi
it just allows you to download blah.avi

for example
you want naruto - 01
there is a torrent naruto - 01.avi.torrent
you download it (few kbs only) and run it.
torrent program such as uTorrent or bitcomet starts and begins dowloading of naruto - 01.avi

there is a lot of free good stuff from porn, hentai, anime, tv shows to documentary movies. (most iof it breaks copyright but who cares)
