Id have to say Fourth because he was so young and had the best style and jutsu's. He would be the strongest hokage alive if he were still alive.

I'd say the Fourth would win as well. Though Sandaime in his prime could give him a run for his money. And the First might have a few tricks up his sleeve too.

I think Sandiame would come out victorious. He is the professor man. He'll school yondaime, he learned everything from shodaime and nidaime, Tsunade not to sure she would stand a chance against Sandaime in his prime. He nearly defeated Orochimaru in old age-he was like 70.

the fourth is overated imo just because he sealed kyuubi doesn't mean a damn thing the third could have did it to for all we know he could have jumped into battle the kyuubi kicked his ass he realized that he can't kill it and decided to seal it. but i think the second hokage because he looks like a badass

Dude Jiraiya said that the fourth's skills as a ninja were unrivaled in history. And him sealing the Kyuubi IS a big thing. Plus he WAS a hokage after all.

How do you even know that, they were brothers and they both have special jutsu's that are very powerful water jutsus (even when there was no water).some attacks were Water Dragon Blast Skill, Water Formation Wall, and Water Wave and he was Sarutobi (3rd Hokage's) main teacher. So i dont think the first would own the second

well if it were just 1 vs 2 then itd be a good match but
isnt the first the only one who knows the wood moves?
so the first could like trap him with the wood prison and
go all wood on the 2nd. but i dont really know whod win for sure

But it was a jutsu that the 4th created, the 3rd just borrowed it from him that lets you know how masterful he was a creating jutsu, perticularly his own which have been some of the greatest we've seen so far!

You have proof of this... where? I don't recall anyone in Naruto saying they could beat him. He's a hero on Naruto. And I pretty much think he's the strongest.
you cant have proof cause the only fight weve seen thus far has been tsunada! And have heard about the onthers the fight b/n th 3rd and 4th aint fair cause they were drones!

I just don't think that there is a ninja that could compare in level of jutsu creation (demonic soul seal for example) level of jutsu use (body flicker technique) or speed, hence the name yellow flash
he the all around best ninja in history, and the only one to my knowledge that could subdue the most powerful of demons at full strength even if he did die from it

some people dont think b4 they post, tsunada had a handicap as well, and not to mention Oro had kabuto! Who performed all his jutsus for him, which was just as effective!

alright now your talking about orochimaru = tsunade
tsunade didnt have much of a handicap
orochimaru did have his arms useless but another person with him WHICH tsunade also had jiraiya shizune and naruto so i dont see how they were evenly matched. tsunade kicked his ass because of the help of her teamates. if orochimaru without handicap vs tsunade were to happen think about that for awhile
tsunada didnt want anyone to interfere and fear is the ultimate handicap in a fight! She took all kinds of attacks from that sword of Oros and healed herself after she stopped shakin after that it was an unfair fight, but kabuto made up for that by summoning manda!

I've always wondered... in the anime, it seems like Oro just gradually and magically got his arms back. Did I miss something? I thought the Third's technique was permanent?

well, i think that it is no contest that the fourth was the best
but i guess that it depends on what age they are in the battle, seeing as how the third was really strong when he was younger but now he's just old :D

this thread doesnt make things quite clear for one to make a really strong argument. If it was for all of the hokages in their prime i would go for Sandaime with Yondaime giving him a run for his money. But the sandaime we saw in the manga was quite strong nevertheless it paled against Oro. So in the now i will go for the sandaime we saw closely behind Yondaime (whom ironically we didnt see much of) :shock:

I think alot of it is circumstancial, who takes the best advantage of openings and so on. When you are that high level of a nin, all you need is one chance really to finish the battle.. so its really who is going to screw up first, in my opinion.
On a serious note, the 3rd beat the 1st and 2nd, at an old age, were they all in there prime, I think he could do it again, tsunada wouldnt match up to well I didnt see her use any jutsu just strenth unless you count it when she messd up kabutos nervous system!
The 3rd seemed more worried about the 4th than the other 2 for good reason, so my conclusion, tsunada wouldnt win, the 3rd would beat 1st and 2nd, and the 4th would beat him
If they all tries to take out the 4th 1st that might be a disadvantage for them!!
