damnit you beat me. i forsee in the next couple of chapters ichigo seeking out the vizards and asking for training he seems to be heart broken that he "couldnt protect anyone" just a theory but i think its very plausable,

i hope he does. his best attack couldnt do squat to Grim Jow in his normal state. and like Grim Jow he coulda taken many more without getting seriously damaged.
either he goes with Hiraiko(i hope the name is right) and his vizard team or Yoruichi and urahara find a way to let him train with his hollow part and become stronger and stronger.

did you see how tousen handled Grim Jow? if ichigo couldnt do this even after seeing all his friends go down- something is got to be done

if it werent for his hollow side he would fight with all power. its the fact he has that extra factor constantly begging him to let it out, that he didnt use full force on grimmjow. when hes learnt to control the hollow, he can fight at a level similar to when against byakuya. THEN he can start training again to become stronger!

probably- but we dont know whether the Hollow part of him actually interferes with his own abilities(this is sounding like naruto and kyuubi but we dont know if it is like that yet).

hollow ichigo then stepped in to save both of them (with the intent of killing byakuya) when byakuya was about to kill ichigo.

i read the manga and watched the anime concerning these parts again. Byakuya was actually about to finish off ichigo- when the Hollow part stepped in. and ichigo couldnt handle the bankai for long. i would even say it was the hollow part that weakened byakuya enough for ichigo to defeat him barely with their final charge after he regained his own consciousness.

in this chapter we didnt see him worrying about his hollow part until he realized his body was getting weaker, his attacks were not working on Grim jow even withthe black moon fang. This was similar to when he was fighting byakuya- he was losing.
so he knows when he is losing and about to get finished the hollow steps in- after realizing this then he started worrying about his Hollow self. He had been fighting his best through out the fight. it was just that Grim Jow was the strongest of all the Arancar that came to town and ichigo at his level was not strong enough-

he needs more training- the fear of the hollow part may make him train harder. the hollow part did not weaken him or interfere in this fight

but when you realise ichigo's game plan for the byakuya fight (not to kill byakuya, but to stop him from killing rukia) you see all the stuff he did, like trying to block senbonzakura with getsuga (and taking a bad hit, weakening him for the rest of the fight), dashing in front of byakuya and holding his sword at his throat, dashing around byakuya again showing off. it was all acting to try and force byakuya to step down, although byakuya wasnt one to step down as we saw. When he was showing off it could be said he was wasting his energy doing so and when it came to the real fighting part (senkei) he wasn't up to it as he tired himself out. then i believe hollow was taking over when he stopped moving.

i believe if ichigo gone at byakuya with killing intent he would have won, because he had so many chances to finish byakuya before he got serious.

of course due to his potential he will get stronger and due to his role in the series he needs to. But also i still believe without the hollow he would be fighting grimm jow at higher level and then we'd see how much he'd need to do to get better.
