when you first get them it's hell.i wanted to pull out my fu&*king teeth everyday.but after a month or so you'll get use to it.but when you go back like every 6-8weeks and they change the wire and stuff the pain comes back but it's mild.i was suppose to take mine off about 2 months ago but i missed my appointment.i wonder if it's gonna hurt when they put on this gay ass retainner.

no what sucked was after the second time i had to pay for the retainers and i was like only 10 and those bitches arent cheap. i would just leave em on my lunch tray and totally forget that it was there then just go throw it away.

I have braces right now, just got them about three months ago. Hate them to death because of the damage they're doing daily to my mouth.

This is the 2nd time I've had braces but I don't blame my retainer, cuz I never got one.

I think that wearing braces too early isn't the greatest idea. Most 12 to 17 year olds don't like doing things by "habit" and so most of them WON'T wear retainers afterwards. The ages of 12 to 17 is also the period in which your body is still developing, and so without the retainers, your teeth are bound to spring back into a mess.

But if you got braces in your late teens and took them off once you're deeper into your twenties, you can go without retainers without worrying about your teeth going back messy. For most people anyway.

So that's why when they say that you have to wear the retainer for the rest of your life, they usually mean until your teeth are really really settled into adulthood.

Yeah, braces suck, I had to have 8 teeth yanked out of my mouth before I could even get them put on (4 wisdom teeth, and then 2 more on top and bottom), and my appointment were always like 8 in the morning on Saturdays. and I my exgirlfriend always complaining. My advice dont lose your top retainer, but I didnt care about losing my bottom retainer..It's drama but kinda worth it.

I got used to my braces now. theyre not so bad once you get used to them. but you can nevewr feel a smooth surface when your tongue touches your teeth.

I have braces, I'm not sure when I get them off, but after a while you get use to having them. The main differences for me was that once a month I go get them tighted and they hurt for a few days, its harder to eat noodles & chewy candy, and I have to brush my teeth a lot more than I use to.
