I love it. Taking references and cues from other cultures and languages. I think it's great.

Well, off the top of my head:
Toro = Bull, obvious by his arrancar release.
Il Forte (sp?) = forte = fuerte = strong

Hueco Mundo = "Hollow World"
Arrancar = To Remove/Take off
Espada = Sword
Menos Grande = "Lesser Big" could be a reference to the fact that they're the weakest of the large scale Hollows.

plus the view of the souls in bleach is much in the way that the OLD MEXICANS viewed death and the after life.

i meant his shikai lol sorry there, badly worded.
could the whole mask thing be related to spanish culture... mardi gras?
one thing is clear, kubo is a very educated person.

no dia los muertos...thats how its related. and plus i talk with my best friends "leets" (short for abuelito) bout how he views the afterlife. and its a little like when a person dies his soul stays behind until he she is ready to let go...or certain preperations are made on dia los muertos....however if that doesnt happen he turns into an evil spirit, much like how some people say la chubakabra started off as a tainted spirit that just couldnt let go.
for those that dont know dia los muertos is day of the dead. in mexico its quite common to paint a stylized skull on your face in order to celebrate the passing of loved ones and life in general. its always striked me that the hollows have a mask of a skull on there faces. i just never thought anything on it till this thread.

Damn, that's an awesome point. I never even thought of Dia De Los Muertos and the connection with the skull-esque masks.
Next Day of the Dead, I'm going to run around with an Ichigo's hollow mask on.
