Well nintendo announced a new system, the Nintendo DS (dual screen) What do you think? I think it won't be any great succes... It hasn't that much new super improved things on it. I think i would go ( not looking to the games) for the PSP. But still, i like the Nintendo games, so to make me buy the DS Nintendo has to develop good games.

i think nintendo needs to give up and start marketing NES and SNES games/systems again... if they did i would be buying tons of games and accessories... they could probably make more money off of their old school stuff then the crap they're coming out with these days.

same here i would too.. anybody had/have a sega saturn :?:
Nintendo is pretty much a goner. X-Box / PS2 crushed gc without mercy. prolly just wither off and become a 3rd party developer like sega did. prolly b better for them anyway. And not only will they get crushed in consoles, but the new PSP(play station portable) is going to completely wreak havoc in the hand held department. Say good-bye gameboy i mean PSP has so many extra gadgets on it.. no chance at all...

with a portable console at that caliber... how heavy is it?? how long is the battery life? and the main question... HOW MUCH DOES IT ACTUALLY COST?
THEY ARE loading the shit out of that thing... it has a gps system and if im not mistaken a cell phone? i dunno but this thing is like hardcore.
ITS also going to use mini discs instead of cartridges .. owned gameboy once again

What's wrong with cartridges? They've done a great job in the past, so why shouldn't they work now?
I must say, as a Nintendo fan of many years, Nintendo's games have pretty much sucked lately, with the exeption of a few. But with the new Zelda, Metroid Prime 2 and the Nintendo DS they will make up for making us wait. Partially, at least.

And, personally, I think Sony and Microsoft are putting too much not-gaming related things into their systems, like a dvd-drive (xbox) and (i heard) cell-phone (PSP) and (I still heard) minidisc (also PSP). Instead, spend the money on improved graphics or better games.
I still remember those good old days when Nintendo was the only major console manufacturer. Then Sony interfered, and now Microsoft too. Why can't Sony stick to their own part of this world, like tv's, and Microsoft should spend more time, money and resources on making sure that the next Windows DOESN'T SUCK! Because XP does.

Yeah, that game is called Picto-Chat, a chat-program. You can use the stylus to draw things, and send them to others, and you can send regular text messages. Seems like fun:
*Made-up situation*
You're making a test, and it's really difficult. You grab your DS and send a message to your friend outside of the classroom, "Hey, what's blablabla?". He sends you a message back, saying "It's blablabla.".

Yeah, that would suck. You would probably get a 1 (that's the lowest possible grade here).

Do you know what you just said? You said that there will be Nintendo game so good, it will be worth buying a Cube just for that game. That has got to mean something.
Anyone watch the video for Sonic DS? It looks amazing!

Well, this backs up quite a ways, but there are a couple things I have to say. The major things in response to DesecratioN's comment:
Nintendo is pretty much a goner. X-Box / PS2 crushed gc without mercy.
Gaming companies make their big sales in Japan (except for PC games, for that Korea is the biggest market). In Japan the GBA consistently sells equal to the PS2, and the only sells 2 to 3 times as much as the PSOne.
Just to give an example, during the week of June 7 to June 13, the PS2 sold 27,227 units; the GBA SP sold 26,560; the normal GBA sold 2,253; the Gamecube sold 5,229; and the Xbox only sold 434. Certainly doesn't seem to me like Nintendo is going anywhere. These numbers were taken from The Magic Box (http://www.the-magicbox.com/topten.htm). If you're to argue how things sell in America or something and say just because of that then the company is going to have to stop making systems, remember that Nintendo is a Japanese company, thus it's primary target is Japan. They release things here because they can make some amount of profit here, they don't really have to rely on it in order to stay in business.
For people wondering about the battery power and price and such... well, one thing is for certain, it's going to cost less than the PSP, and the battery life will be longer than the PSP (Sony always tries to twist the truth/outright lie, they say the PSP will have 'up to 10 hours of battery life', but they don't say that that would be if you're using it just as an mp3 player. last estimate I heard on the battery life for PSP when playing games was 3 hours).
And finally...
same here i would too.. anybody had/have a sega saturn :?:
I do (2, actually), and play it quite frequently.
Nintendo Gamecube has been selling pretty well since last november, and the GBA SP continually sell well here in the states. People who think that nintendo is going down are delusional.
The DS, right now, has a SKU, so you can actually prorder it, and is priced at $199.99.

Yea, but who knows if that'll be the actual price. Even the places that let you preorder it say that it's just an estimate and not the official price that it will end up costing. So you could preorder it at that price, but it could end up costing you more or less than that for it.
If less you get refunded. If it's more they call you when they have the actual price and tell you how much you need.

are you ppl kidding me!?!?
PSP is Huge compared to nintendo's DS..
plus the DS is gonna have intense graphics for such
a small thing..
and GC is doing great.. i'm a fan of all systems.. but game cube isn't far behind it's doing well..
especially with games like four swords..
it's so much fun
calm down. It was only a few people who tried to say that Nintendo was in danger. there really isn't any need to worry.
