Well i bought the game from ebay, but if you want to play an imported game on the gamecube you have to buy this freeloader cd that lets you play imported games. it is like 20 dollars for the freeloader thing. but if you want to play the game you need it. the game is awesome especially if you are a big naruto fan.

To answer your question.. Yes and no... (ok so that's not much of an answer).. you can buy a copy of Naruto 2 in the US.. but only at the kind of "side shop" stores that bring in imports sometimes.. and I don't have a clue where to tell you to find a store like that. And otherwise no, there isn't really a commercial market in the US that has the game.

However, I would recomend buying the game from www.lik-sang.com (http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=79&products_id=4053&). That's where I bought my copy.. and I just took a look and they are still offering FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE and bundled with FreeLoader (you will need this to play on a US gamecube). The game is rather expensive ($82.90), but remember you are paying for not only a popular game, but the freeloader also, so you can play it on your US console. It's worth the money!

And don't worry that the game is in Japanese... www.gamefaqs.com (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/game/919144.html) has COMPLETE translations of the Menu, story, etc... trust me, navagating through the game is not that hard.

Enjoy!

hm.. you probably got the game by now, but I'll add this, for those interested:

I got mine at a regular video game store, actually... You just -have- to make sure they carry Import games beforehand, and calling to make sure they carry it isn't a bad idea either.

Make sure to have a Freeloader disc of some kind, to play it on a US system.
with the Freeloader, mine would have been 100... but I already had one, so the cost went down to 70 dollars. A tad expensive, but.. it is an import, after all.

Erm... just to remind people, as it's something that's apparently forgotten here, there are a lot of online import shops that are in the US. You're still ordering online, but shipping won't cost nearly as much and you'll get it a lot faster than buying from a Japanese or Hong-Kong based store (even if it's a store that would offer free shipping, it would take at least a week to get it in most cases). I usually shop at NCS (http://www.ncsx.com) if they have what I want, as it's relatively close (it's in New York and I'm in Maine) and I can recieve it in 2 days if I ship with UPS ground.

As for the free loader... that's been covered already. But I prefer not to use such things, so my system is modded. I just hit a button on the back of my cube and I can play it just fine. ^_^

I really don't want to void my warranty by building the switch.

Yea, it's true that you'd void your warranty, but how long does the warranty last anyway? I got my system on launch, so it'd probably have ran out by now anyway. I'd rather have a voided warranty and ease of playing Japanese games (not to mention 100% comnpatability) than keep my warranty and have to use a slow boot disk to play them (and have a small number of games that are incompatable).

I guess if you spend your money importing games constantly it's a good deal. i usually wait a year or two to find out if a games coming over. Most stuff i want makes it over...

same here.

It wouldn't be worth it (to risk ruining it, cause yes, sometimes they do mess them up) for me to mod my system ^^;

to much risk. if something happens to the system, i don't want to have to pay more than usual to get it fixed.

I wish I had the money to buy that game bc it looks so awesome. Unfortunately, I am just a 15 year old kid with no job and parents that aren't rich.

what about games for ps2? do u recon there any good? and with this freeloader thing is the game in english?

--whoops this a cube topic srry--

well, the ps2 game isn't as good to me, because it uses support characters who are like strikers from the newer KOF games. It has fewer selectable characters too.

As for NarutoKun9Tails, I would never buy an import game used unless i was able to play the copy without paying for it. and most sites have it new for $64.

not really, the first was mostly looked at because of the visuals, not the gameplay. i'm sure most of us here await Gekito Ninja Taisen! 3

so u recon that the best naruto games are on GC, weird cuz GC has a lack of good games except for this one, its a real hit huh.

you don't play many gamecube games obviously... you must be another drone who downs a good system because it doesn't have all the games you want. I could list good games (or great ones) that are on GameCube but I really don't feel like it.

oh, yeh well i neva hear about GC untill Naruto came out on it, the discussions are mainly all about xbox and playstation.

L2Mc

that's wierd because several games came out that would make the gamecube recognizable...

Are you just saying nobody talks about it on this forum?

Almost everyone I know around here prefers Gamecube over the other systems (including myself). I've been disappointed with a few games on Gamecube, but there are far more games I enjoy on it than on the other systems.

In my opinion...

Gamecube + PS2 = equally good.
They have different strengths, but they are both great systems. I can't choose one over the other, I love them both.
The GC was made for certain games (graphics and handling-wise), and the PS2 is perfectly suited for some of its titles.

I use them both for the same amount of time ^.^

I just neva hear about them anywhere, like school to web to forums...nowhere, and i only kno 1 person that has a GC the rest have either xbox or ps2.

I still express shock. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker was impossible not to hear about because so many people bitched about the graphics. GameCube had the Best version of Soul Calibur II. There are many more games that have come out on this system. i suggest you look into the system, you'll find out a lot.

Hey, what mods are available for GC, like to play games from foreign contrys or to hook up to a pc?

Shentar

I'm not sure if there's been a modchip or something made to make a Gamecube play all regions of games, but there is a switch mod, which consists of only 2 wires (and then a switch, of course) that lets you switch between American and Japanese.

As for hooking it up to a PC, I believe someone found a way to rip the contents of a Gamecube disk to a computer by using the BBA, but I also believe that Nintendo has fixed what had let them do that and now you can't do that with new BBAs. I don't really know how much good that could do, as there isn't really any way to run most pirated Gamecube games (and even with the games that can run on emulators, I don't think they run very well. I believe one of the things it was originally done for was to get the N64 rom of Ocarina of Time Master Quest, so that you could play that on N64 emulators, or even put it on a flash rom cart and play it on an actual N64).

with Datel's freeloader, $19.99 plus tax, you can play GC games from different regions without building a switch. it all depends on how you want to upgrade your Cube.

Basically, yes. I think almost everyone that plays Import GC games either has a Freeloader, or has modded their system (a risky thing, imo, but some are claiming it worked perfectly for them).

Yeah, you just play them.. You can usually understand it without the text though. A fighting game or similar style is usually easy to understand, whether you understand the words/text or not.
And often, with the Naruto games, you can look online and find translations for all the menus and dialogue. In particular, I found full translations to the Naruto 2 game for GC, and it became tons easier.

Have you ever played any import games before, Neji? I'm just asking because before I started importing games I was really hesitant, thinking the language barrier would be too much of a problem, but in truth it's very low to non-existant in many games. After importing a couple games things being in Japanese didn't bother me as much (of course, RPGs are still bad, but most games are plenty playable).

For Naruto 2 specifically, you don't really need to know any Japanese while fighting, and the dialogue in story mode you don't really need to know, either (though there's probably something with translations of them somewhere). The menus are really the only thing you need to know. The main menu is pretty easy to get memorized, you can either associate the symbols for the option with what it is (even if you don't know the exact meaning of them), or you can associate the sound (on the main menu Naruto says something for each option). The sub menus have pictures for each selection, so you can just use those as a guideline as to what they are. Most of the things that you would need to know can be memorized very easily. Anything else I would suggest picking out of a FAQ and putting it in a text file, printing it out, folding up the piece of paper, and then sticking right in the case behind the instruction manual (the Japanese cases are designed a lot better for doing something like that). Then just reference it whenever you feel you need to. (Edit: Here's (http://img58.photobucket.com/albums/v176/Shentar/naruto2case.jpg) a picture just to show you what I'm talking about. If you have a paper with translations of anything you can't remember, you can just fold it up and stick it in there like that, then you'll have access to them whenever you need it. Sorry for the low quality of the picture, though.)

Anyway, I feel like I'm rambling a bit. Basically, Naruto 2 isn't at all a game that you would need to actually know Japanese to enjoy.
