Gaara lives! I love how compassionate Naruto is for him. Not as informative but really touching. I got a little misty eyed for a moment. Beautiful chapter but for you action fans...sorry!

That was a great ending. And the Cavalry arrives, late as usual... though it looks like Chiyo's done for, notice how she's collapsed into Sakura's arms in the last panel.

Yea Chiyo's done for sure. Im happy Garaa is alive, now we just have to wait to see what all he can do now. Its good to see everyone came to rescue garaa though, it shows that the village cares about him more than they used to and thats always a good thing.

You can also see Chiyo's Twin Brother. I didn't see Baki (their former Jounin instructor) but since he just wears the generic Sand Jounin outfit, he's hard to see in such a wide shot.
And this is probably one of the best shots of Naruto ever...

If they're all there, then who's defending the village? ;-) Lots of Suna shinobi. Next chapter should be interesting. One of the shinobis towards the bottom left has a big ass weapon that looks almost like Kisame's Samehana.

the last pics looks really good, the one with all the shinobi, but it seems really risky for all the shinobis of one village to come cheer up their kazekage, leaving the village defenseless. arf, whatever :wink:
this chapter was one of those that makes me stupidly smile ^^...

well i think baki is the guys right behind naruto with hand in his poket not sure though but size and look does match and for facial well we dont see much

Dude..those guys came outta no where!! Glad to see Gaara back..sad to see Chiyo-Baa go...and from the looks of it, Kakashi and/or Gai are familiar w/the technique that Chiyo was using..either way..Cant wait for the next chap!!!

it was more like they were creating a moment just for sore eyes and giving a reason for the next phase of the manga
and really- the villages are going to have to band together with akatsuki getting more powerful and all

that is true
they probably thought Deidara and Sasori were enough for the ninjas that attacked. still they managed to take out shukaku from Gaara-right
but who is to say that they wont get 2 new strong guys to join them. i even think now they are less 3 very powerful ninjas if you include Oro
still they are very powerful

seems like those guys didnt think too much of secrecy and stealth huh? there mustve been a hundred of them.. sunha must love puppets.. :? i saw more than 1 guy with thingies on their backs.. of course those may njot be puppets at all.. :D nice chapter.. heart warming..

Yes...Didn't they say that the automatic armor of sand he gets was from Shukaku? Or was it from a sand priest's enchantment... I'm a little rusty on that piece of info...

Shukaku is the Sand Priest. The Sand Priest is a form he takes when he wants to disguise himself as a human. But the Giant Tanuki is his true form. He was sealed inside a teakettle by a powerful monk in the distant past. This teakettle eventually fell under the control of Sunagakure, who used it to seal the Shukaku into a series of hosts.

myeah somehow i doubt gaara will lose all his powers. He might lose most of his chakra maybe, but the seals and all are still with him. And i dont think he used to much chakra from shukaku at all. When naruto uses the kyuubi chakra he has an endless supply of chakra, while gaara always had ran out of chakra.
I think gaara has fro itself a the same chakra pool as naruto, and used the shukaku chakra only at the very least moment.

Yes, but Gaara's main advantage over any fighter (and the reason he wins most fights) is because of the sand barrier that forms around him even without his will (Meaning it will protect him even if he is somehow knocked out). Now without Shukaku (The being that caused the barrier) I doubt Gaara will be able to use it, or at least use it without actually consuming any chakra... So if this is the case, Gaara will be alot weaker... :(

knowing kishimoto, I doubt he'll eliminate all of gaara's power. He'll still be able to use sand but probably no where near as good as he could before. He might even be demoted from kazekage.

I remember reading somewhere that the sand shield was a gift from his mother. So he might not lose that.
no, the shield is from the demon, although I think they do mention something like his mother wanting Gaara wreck havoc on the village or something like that

So, yea, Gaara would lose the "free" shield he gets... Like I said, that'll make him a lot weaker, since he isn't a hand-to-hand person.
*He would still be able to use the sheild I think, but it'll just take a crap load of Chakra to maintain.

gaara will definitely be weaker if he loses all that shield- i really do hope it was completely from his mother and it is not based on the presence of shukaku.
and i guess he loses the strength shukaku gives him too- i am sad for Gaara
but soo happy that he is alive :D :D

it would be soo wonderful if he still can manipulate and use sand as he did against kimimaro
I hope it was a gift from his mom to, but did she die at his birth b/c of the sealing tech they used to put shakaku in garra, Im assumin that she was a nin as well and that she some how gave garra that shield of sand w/ a jutsu that she created heck she might have even died that way by doing the jutsu to protect him, I personally think that garra will still be able to manipulate sand

No, that was a lie Yashamaru created to try and make Gaara believe that his Mother loved him. He told him that his mother had never loved him, and that she had never protected him right before he commited suicide by blowing himself to bits.
but he never said that the sand shield wasnt given to him by his mother, he just said that she hated him pretty much, which could also means that he might have been given the shield by her so that he will alway be isolated, and loved by no one!

Yashamaru, Gaara's caretaker.
And personally, I feel that the scene where Gaara watches his mother blow away into sand is representational of him realizing that it was Shukaku all along.
Shukaku is the God of Wind and grants power over sand. Gaara has a vision of his mom turning to sand and being blown away... hmmmmm.
good point never thought about that, oh well we will just have to wait and see what the boy can do now

Hm... I haven't seen Chapt 280 yet but, I am interested in what the Council will do to Gaara now that he is in a weak state; they did mention something before about not wanting him to stay Kazakage.
I dont remember anything about that what chapter did they say anything about them not wanting garra to be kazekage
