ok im a noob to one piece but currently im loving it im on episode 85 and i got a couple questions

what episode is it up to now?
does the redline go across the world and cut the grandline in two?
who else enjoys it.

Right now One Piece is on Ep. 245. Kaizoku has up to 161 and still going and GeruSama has from 220 to 242. Keep it to them with the fansubs.
About the redline I am not sure.
I discovered One Piece a few months ago and so far I have read all the manga and seen about 110 of Kaizoku fansubs. I really enjoyed it.

ONE PIECE- oh thank heavens.
there are guys here who love ONE PIECE. i like this series soo much--
it has such diversity. it is about one of the few long series i have watched that i havent gotten tired of.

i have watched everything up to episode 245.
but for some reason for 2-3 weeks now i havent seen any raw for 246. Gerusama keeps saying the tracker is down and they dont have any valid explanation as to why.
and i tell you the new adventure has such powerful bad guys and such a good story line that i almost posted a spoiler to get people interested

I just recently started watching it on Toonami and 4Kids, so I've been watching it since the first episode of season 2 of FMA... so I don't know a whole lot. And I've only read volume 1 of the manga.

oh no!! are u saying you havent watched any of the subbed japanese versions yet. i tell you, the dubbed ones on Toonami suck to heaven- the first time i saw a dubbed one on CN i almost cried- it was terrible. u better get the subbed japanese versions if you want to really enjoy one piece.

the manga is on Volume 39 at the moment whilst the anime is on eps 249.

for all those who want to know Gerusama released eps 219 (u know, they already have subbed 220-245). i hope they start subbing downwards.

bingo- thats more like it- i think one of the things that drew me to one piece and separated it from other fight animes i had seen and made it quite different was truly the art- if u learn to love it it draws you in- into the anime- like a hand dragging u along

That's exactly it. The one thing that attracted me to one piece was actually the art. It was so different than regular anime. I think it has a sort of cartoonish look perhaps? But I think it really needs to pick up its pace. It progresses through the story almost as slowly as DBZ does ;) Naruto on the other hand... :lol:

Nah, 4kids is an anime licenser, but they ruin every show they license. They have shows like Shaman King, Sonic X, Yugioh, and sadly, One Piece. They turned Sanjis cigarette into a lollipop, they turn guns into cork guns and water guns, they took out all the blood, and they refuse to show any character die, regardless of how important it is to the storyline. If 4kids drops One Piece altogether, then theres a chance a good company (like ADV or Geneon) will dub One Piece and not ruin it.

It got taken off of 4kids tv for awhile, but they said its coming back pretty soon. The only ways to get the japanese version is a) use torrents or b) use irc. The problem is, most people dont know how to use one or the other.

At first I took One Piece serious, but at it got further into the series I lost a lot of interest. I'm not flaming, but I've seen animes that are more serious and have a more stable plot. The only thing I like about One Piece is that its unpredictable.

It can be a very serious show, providing you give it a chance to get into the bigger fights and plots. I think it has the perect amount of humour mixed in with the seriousness. Like when they are just sailing around nothings very serious, but when a new bad guy comes around they all get really serious, especially luffy.

Just depends how far you get. Minor arcs like Buggy dont get very serious. Big ones like Arabasta and Water 7 get very serious though. I kind of like how it doesnt get serious all the time. It sets it apart from a lot of other animes, and at the same time stays true to the characters rather than stereotyping it to how most animes are.

Either way it depends on your opinion, thats just the way I see it.

Register at the forum, and theres a thread with an ftp server, username and password. Download an ftp program, like cute ftp, put in the server, name, and password, and you can download the episodes.

They probably have more detailed instructions on the forum somewhere.

i get my one piece subs through MIRC from #gerusama on rizon. They just released the newest subbed 255 soo soon after 254(of course it is their anniversary).

unfortunately, i think i see one piece the anime about to be stopped or something. The anime eps 258 is right around manga chapters 370-80s. with the way one piece rating is quite down for anime if fillers are introduced as in happening in Naruto and Bleach at the moment, i feel OP may be stopped. bcos i doubt it can hold its fan base with about soo many a number of fillers.

me too- until i read that part of the manga. youshould have seen how worried i was. When i realized that the 2nd half of the davy back series was not in the manga- i kept telling myself that i downloaded the wrong or a fake manga volume. And them ii was told that was a complete filler. my single response- was- ooh!!!-

if they can do that then it will be incredible. and of course if they really want to keep One Piece around and keep making money then the fillers has to be good- just like the recent bleach fillers.

lol!! apart from having about 500 GB of hard disk space i have over a terrabyte of anime downloaded on rewritable and normal CDs- my CD store is huge- from DBZ, Gundam, One Piece, Berserk, School Rumble, etc etc. The cds are really helpful- especially if you can buy off of ebay or on the Yahoo sales market.

I gotta say this has turned into one of my all time favorite anime. I even like it more than naruto when not counting fillers

I just love how much the story progresses, and how strong they get, then you got shows like naruto and like it seems as if the show just isn't going anywhere.

And to the people saying they don't like it cause it's not very serious, I'm more into comedies, and it's packed with awesome fight scenes, that's a double win.

It would do so much better if it wasnt for 4kids ruining the dub and giving the show a bad name, by completely changing the whole show, removing fight scenes, and the worst VA ever.

It's also the best sold manga ever, more so than naruto.

OP manga rules, anime not so muchi beg to differ. Maybe you havent watched One Piece the anime yet. It is top notch. can you remember these: captain kuro. baggy, alabasta + crocodile, skypiea- these are arcs that if you spend time watching you will drool and fall in love with one piece.


One Piece Manga is supposedly the best in japan- so no question about that!!

i have read all the manga. All of it. i Started with the manga when it came out in 1997. and waiting for Null or Rush to release the HQ scan of the latest chapter- 422.
So have i watched all the anime including the latest raw for eps 275. and i also have all the files both anime and manga on my cpu.

thats why i was asking you, which part of the anime didnt you like? which arc (including characters, etc), what didnt you like about it? it was an avenue to make some discussion.

The movie is pretty good though, but there's episodes that surpass that by far, One piece is godly =D

Umm, just about all anime has exaggerated face expressions too, and considering this is a naruto site, you probably watch it, and there's definitely tons of it.

But I'm guessing you haven't watched too many episodes. One piece gets better and better as the show goes on. Eiichiro Oda is the best writer I've ever seen. OP is one of those shows you got to give a chance to realize the potential, like the CP9, enel, crocodile, arlong, etc.

You watch naruto- have you ever seen a human being with chakra visibly flowing around him? Have you seen a ninja soo fast that he is faster than sound? Oh! then what about the DBZ's( where beings can literally destroy a whole solar system or planets) and the bleach's (with zanpakutous and deathGods fighting to save their world), etc etc? if you go the "3 sword style wtf" way you are saying that a lot of anime shouldnt exist in the first place.

And you even have issues with the art. Oda Eiichiro-sensei is one of the premiere mangaka's in japan. His One Piece manga is the best rated and patronized in japan. His "exagerrations" and others in the fine art you talked about are what makes One Piece unique. If you pay attention to what they are meant to portray and give to audiences you will give those more credit than you have given so far.

You dont like One Piece- thats fine. But dont make accusations on aspects which are among the strongest points/ values of One Piece.

His "exagerrations" and others in the fine art you talked about are what makes One Piece unique. If you pay attention to what they are meant to portray and give to audiences you will give those more credit than you have given so far.

You dont like One Piece- thats fine. But dont make accusations on aspects which are among the strongest points/ values of One Piece.
i do agree with u about the art. the art is amazing. the facial expressions are the only thing that annoys me though. Oda Echiro's facial expresson suck imo. he just can't show good emothions. thats part of the reason i don't like it. and i don't like the 3 sword style. it just seems lame and unoriginal to me and i refuse to take it back. if watsuki or akamatsu, which are the two mangaka i look up to the most, did something like that, i would say it was lame also. luffy's stretching style of fighting is cool but i just cant get the 3 sword. there's no logic behind it. a sword in your mouth would serve no purpose other than get in the way. its just and a weak atempt at trying to be uniuqe and thats just the way i see it

a) 3 sword style is most definately original, have you ever seen it done before? I sure as hell havent.

b) a sword in your mouth wouldnt serve any purpose...in reality. I doubt that putting your hands in screwed up positions in order to attack wouldnt serve any purpose either in reality either. Anime IS basically an escape from reality, few if any shows are realistic.

c) this ones just imo, but the facial expressions dont necessarily need to be flawless for OP, because the VA's do a hell of a good job spreading the emotion. If anything, I think the facial expressions help even more that theyre exaggerated...one your into the show. For starters, it may draw you away, but once your really into the feel of the show, you would most likely like them.

d) another one just imo, but luffys is hardly like goku. Again, at the start it might seem that way, but when you get to know the characters better, he really isnt the same to me. Im not sure how far into the show youve seen though, this ones just my viewpoint.

There are 33 filler episodes I believe, sure 33 might sound like a lot, but out of 275 episodes, that's around 10% of all episodse being fillers, Naruto is about 35% filler.

Not to mention, the fillers in one piece are awesome, only about 5-10% of naruto fillers can say the same =/

Just like most people- i started reading the manga when it came out in 1997 and immediately said it was crap. THe art design looked soo funky and unreal. But when i came back to it and got deeper- all i could say to myself was wow_ did i almost miss this.

One Piece doesnt start off like Naruto. Naruto starts off pretty strong and has a natural fan base because of its ninja theme. One Piece may not be that good till u get deeper. and it stays that way till the end. i assure you, if you dont read the manga you will never know any of the fillers are fillers.

Hey!!! you going on an anime watching binge. i have done a couple of those. One i remember quite well was at the turn of the new millenium. Dont laugh- that is one of the things i decided to do if the world was going to end. of course i never thought it was going to end anyways. just seized the opportunity- if the smallest probability of it ending came to pass- eh. One piece is pretty good, I got really really into it when I was catching up. The current arc is sauce, you'll love it when you finally catch up...
Although now that Im up to date, theres a few things about onepiece that make it so its not quite on par with naruto.

Subbers:
- to the best of my knowledge, only ADC elites sub these days... they have really really inconsistent release dates which is ultra frustrating. Thats not so much one piece's fault but it makes me like it less.

The Anime:
- because onepiece is so long running and has never truly taken a huge filler arc(altho they didn't air for a season) like naruto or bleach, it's always really close behind the manga. Because of this, they have mastered the art of recapping what happened last week in the longest amount of time and then making nothing actually happen in a 22 minute episode. They add so much dialogue filler that nothing ever really happens. So at the end of 22 minutes, you say... shit, I just waited 2 weeks for adc to sub this and now nothing happened.

The Content:
- Im getting a tad sick of the humor, although sometimes it still makes me laugh really hard.

But otherwise, kickass series, rivals naruto for sure, a little more light hearted, a few less plot twists

that will be awesome. if it was for a movie- then yeah. But for a series- not such a good idea. it will require too much resources-- money, time, effort, etc involved, especially for such a long running series.

One Piece is crap now. They had a chance to really change the pace of the anime and give it a slightly more grownup feel with the CP7 arc. After the seriousness of Usuopp/Luffys fight and Robins problems I thought Luffy and Co. would start to be more serious about things. And some of the CP9 have really silly skills.... and the agruing between some of the cooler CP9 makes the group look like a big joke. Feels really fillerish when I watch.

Doesn't help that episodes come out subbed like one every 3-4 weeks :P

oHH!!! which probably means you dont read the manga that much or at all!! and also that maybe you havent being with one piece anime for too long.

The happenings in the manga at where the anime is at the moment parallels the anime-- there isnt much difference except a few additions and ommissions. Some of the additions/ommissions are quite obvious.

the releases and subbing-- it is staple One Piece. At times it might take a month or so to get a release and even longer for a sub. I remember when Kaizoku Fansubs stopped subbing for a long time. You learn to live with it. and with the way the anime is soo close (too close to the manga) some of the ommissions/additions sadly may continue

That is why in the case of this ONE PIECE, most fans are both Manga and Anime watchers. The other (Manga) tides you over when the anime is down. And for most the manga is a classic- as such these who wait to watch the anime go in excitedly to see how various scenes were animated.



For current subbers-- you should download Vegaplunk's releases. They are extremely good.

Just wait until you hit episode 45 and it will get way better.
Especially the 50's and 60's. (The 50's-60's are the pretty mature episodes not counting the fillers. It is pretty awesome here IMO)

I will be honest here. There are a lot of childish jokes in this anime, and stupid looking people like mr. 2. (Oh my gosh, mr. 2 makes me want to want to commit suicide) But guess what, the storyline is pretty amazing, and it is kind of like playing final fantasy because the anime is pretty much an adventure + action + lots of quests/enemies throughout the anime.

If you are one of those really really mature people then I know One Piece is not really the anime for you. One piece is mostly about humor, and a good anime to watch when your bored.

It is the same thing when I go "How the heck can you people watch love hina?" I really think love hina is stupid and lame. Same as how some people are saying one piece is stupid and lame as well. I don't know, you might like one piece if you watch it more. Its not just about pirates sailing around meeting new people. Its about pirates throughout the whole world fighting for a treasure, one piece, being careful not to bump into marines on the way because marines are like police while pirates are the people who commit crimes. And the main character is a pirate. Some pirates/marines eat the devils fruit (Which is a myth in the anime) which grant them some abilities too, such as fire/ice/etc. And that is where the fights come. This whole thing is what makes the anime interesting IMO.

People just hate the character designs cause they are different, you get used to them, they are fine.

One Piece itself is in no way serious, and no way does it become serious. However if you look at the whole picture of the show and everything you discovered, the secrets of the story are pretty serious indeed. The character's pasts also tend to be silly, but are really sad as well.

Does something interesting happen? I have yet to find a series more interesting than OP in the events that go on.

Watch the Arlong Arc, and if you don't like it then, you're probably one of those rare poeple that just don't like it. It happens, I don't like Bleach, and if I do watch it it's cause my friends are doing it at the time or I absolutely have nothing better to do, yet everybody goes on about how great Bleach is. Some people will always dislike a certain anime/manga, but you do have to read/watch it first.

Oh, and Lucas, god the Love Hina anime is terrible and made me puke. THe manga was quite enjoyable though, sad how much they killed it.

Well I watched the whole Love Hina series without hesitating, at least it doesn't have retarded and ugly characters like in One Piece! (and there's more boobs too)
But One Piece would be great if they didn't have to drag it like they're doing for Naruto. Most of the time the actions get slower than in the manga and that can ruin some scenes. However, some short jokes I saw definately made an awesome job for me!

I recall young Nami telling the village's chief : ''I'll pay you with...my body'', or the pirates saying ''Ero-Camel'' to that stupid camel, Zoro diving with Chopper to escape Nami's rage...these moments saved the show for me :)

But of course, at the Arlong arc (with Nami's village), the series gets really interesting. If you don't like it at that point, toss it!

hello guys.. i'm new in this forum so i want to ask some questions on viewing downloaded one piece episodes.. how can i view it in normal speed cause when i played it the subs do not play along with the sounds and the actions of the anime..:confused:

On the top there is a link that says "get one piece" and it will display a list of torrents, (each one has 10 eps) i thought it was kinda big but actually it works out pretty good, since stream quality is not that good as watching this eps in VLC. you can download eps there

Thats soo sad. Of course depending on whether you have time or not.

But it is so good too. You get to enjoy the series as long as you can. But for 20 eps-- thats going to be a pretty long time if you keep at 20 episodes per month without slack.

daily motion crunchy i use for crap like ikki tousen. for fighting (like bleach and op) or epic (noein, ergo proxy) i need full screen and great quality.

I am still trying to catch up (on episode 220) but I have a question.

Did they switch animators all of a sudden? It seems like on episode 220 that the characters are drawn less "cartoony"... Made the episode hard to watch...

Also what episodes are fillers? Just curious, still going to watch them(probably have already watched some).

well at some point during the CP9 Arc, the original voice over for choppa left(for reasons i don't know) and from what i read, people were pissed off that his voice actor changed. I wasn't pissed, but the new voice sucked compared to the original guy or girl. anyway, the studios heard the cries of the fans and got the original guy back after a certain amount of episodes.

Alright, I got a question and I've been trying to figure it out for awhile just haven't been bored enough to actually ask someone.

I need help finding my place in the anime... I left off because the arc I was in was boring me to death... it was an arc where the group was in the desert? Uhm... the blue-haired chick was talking about how she's a princess ... and she wanted to make the rebels and her kingdom peaceful again or something? Not entirely sure.

If someone could help me find my place, or maybe push me past that arc to a more entertaining one?:confused:

Omg your in my favorite arc of all time, the desert island arc? Wowwwww i loved that one!
But this new arc in the manga right now owns it lol, its unbelievable and owns the world IMO. This incredibly changed myself into liking into reading manga and such, I am enjoying the hell out of my time right now reading it lately. My only manga I read right now too btw.

And uhh, desert island arc is episode 90~ and anywhere above that.

If you need an exact episode try reading the episode summaries at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_One_Piece_episodes and go 1 by 1 and try to eliminate 1by1 the ones you already watched so you don't get spoiled reading other summaries. Start from 90

Oh man I just started getting back into OP. I am on the CP9 arc right now and they just revealed that the workers from Galley-la company are the gov't dudes. This arc is damn intense.

Anybody else especially like this arc (even though it's sad)?

I've got to say, it's my favorite arc (other than the current one), and the only arc in any manga that I've went back and reread more than once. "Damn intense" is a fairly accurate description of it, too. On the other hand, the current arc has the potential to be even better, in my opinion.

Hell yes the one in the manga is my new favorite<3 I can't wait until the anime catches up.
The arc right now in the anime was better in the manga, right now the anime is hella stretching it out. I liked it in the manga more and it was my favorite arc tied with alabasta, but wow it keeps getting better right now.

And letsrock303 I liked the cp9 arc, it was really good indeed. Only when they were at the water place though, I didnt like them afterwards.
