I don't know if its just me, but all the latest chapters have felt kind of awkward since the end of the soul society arc.

I think the manga will slow things down now. The fight with the Arankaru (sp?) came off as a fight to come, but with all of the Soul Society guys showing up now, it seems like they'll be doing some long term training. I'm pretty sure Ichigo is at a stage where he's stronger than all of the SS guys that showed up. I also think that Rukia will fall into a mentor type of role teaching Ichigo simple and basic Shinigami techniques like the demon arts. Any low level demon are will obviously be intensified because of Ichigo's reiatsu. Kind of like when Kuchiki Taicho fought Renji using basic demon arts.
