ok right lets decipher the pictures...

with the help of the manga...

basically ichigo is now learning ban kai by skipping a required step. to learn ban kai he must be able to materialise the specter in his sword into the real world, but with that dummy (was it a tenshintai?) it does it for him.

so now hes battling kitsuki to gain his loyalty during battle and achieve ban kai. those swords that dropped down are the different traits inside ichigos mind. he must find a srong thought and win against kitsuki. when he got the one that looked most like zangetsu it broke. it was the representation of his dependence on zangetsu...his weakest thought.

as with everything else in this episode....hanatarou is getting told off, the other ryoka are in the cells, and that girl has recieved a letter. you'll find what that letter says next episode no doubt, with a load more action as well :P
