Well sorta Sloth has her body but not her mind or soul.... All the humuclus have names that represent the seven dedly sins though some do not act like theirs at frist or they syimply do not show it.Example: Envy may not act like it much but he really is jelous of ed.

humnculi are ppl you try to bring back with alchemy without using the philospher stone.they look like ther person you tried to bring back but they aren't they don't have any souls.

well the name is based on the 7 sin from the catholic church...there the failed experiments from the human transmutation(the sick body left over XD) and by the red stone was able to take the previous body forms...i dont no y the body was not killed when it looked so sick like that but hey...fma didnt explain helleva lot of things in the end...still tryin to get seed from the bit for the movie -_-;;;

i think they just picked the seven deadly sins because those sins are a form of a taboo,much like human tranmutation

Actually most of their names match up with what they do.
Envy - Changes forms, envious people want to be other people, so it's correct.
Lust - I'm not sure, unless her fingers represent penises. And she was transmuted of an act of love.
Gluttony - eats anything.
Pride - He's a soldier, very prideful business. His eye gives him pride because he never loses, it sees the opponents next move.
Sloth - She's water, sloth means lazy, and water just sits there, so that's correct.
Wrath - He's a destroyer, so basically he brings his wrath upon people.
Greed - He wants to live forever, which his shield allows him to do.

That's just my opinion, correct me if I'm wrong.

AK is right its her beauty not her fingers (damn come on) and i dont know about Gekido(wrath) i think his name refers to how he became more than how he acts (at least thats what i think) with it being a kind of wrath (like gods wrath type o thing) on ed for trying to bring back his mom and actually saving his brother which wasnt supposed to happen. and thats why wrath is the only one that isnt quite right with what you guys are saying about the homunculus he wasnt formed from the bringing back of a human but the saving and i think thats why hes so different

I played diablo2 and a necromancer uses a shield called Homunculus so a homunculus means the undead, or zombie.

I'm happy FMA chose homunculus over the word undead/zombie, its more mature ;)

in fma..humonculus are made from the mistakes of the alchemist from trying to do a human transmutation.. they also guard the philosopher's ston..thats..what they think..actually they also use it for personal gains..
