well im not sure about ripping sprites off an actual cartridge or ripping from GBA. i used an snes emulator and took a bunch of screenshots(1 of each frame)and took the background off and done i got my sprite. if you want to know more about this emulator stuff or how i make my sprites then send me a PM with a question. but in the end no ripping off an actual game/cart is done to produce my sprites.

well you don't really -make- them -- you just take them
they are good rips though

you should try actually making some

yeah pretty much but you do need to know some basic knowledge with emus.
but since people usally request sprites of charecters they already know it's easier to just rip them and make sure all the frame look good and whatnot.
besides im to lazy to actually make one.

is there a prog to rip them from gba games?

1. get visual boy advance gba emulator
2. play any game
3. press ctrl+1 up to 9 (i think its up to 9) to disable different layers, try each.
4. screenhot.

note: skip frames by pressing ctrl+n (this will be the default if you havent changed the controls)

tip: windows xp users can use the windows picture and fax viewer to review the frames you've captured. really helped me a lot
