nah.. got the gamecube and ps2... not the xbox :-P
even though it would be cool to play ddr against someone online  and the only downside is.... if you're losing.. you can't knock the other person you're going against off balance to get back into the game

Its this ninja/shonbi type game that is really cool. if done right you can fight enemies and not even touch the ground in some levels. The game is based on a lot on Japanese folk lore and they have a anime about it.

i especially hate that water level in shinobi... if you fall... you'll die..
but i know.. that's what makes it interesting.. and good.. because its hard

Some levels of Otoegi is like Gunvalkyrie where as you cannot touch the floor or you quickly start to loose health fast.

Holy crap.
Just so you DDR lovers all know, there's an online Bemani magazine that I edit and write for.
Did I mention that I have a great dislike for DDR.
EDIT: BTW, here's the site. http://www.nattsumi.com/idrm/

What'd you have against DDR? It's not such a bad game...I must admit some people get a bit carried away but still that happens with a lot of games (i.e. EQ o.O) I like DDR, I just started it like a month ago (although I haven't gotten to play it lately cause my FRIEND TOOK HER GAME BACK ~_~ I wanted to borrow it forever) and I can do most of the six footers OOOOoooooOOooh!!! lol but anways, my favorite version thus far is DDR Max home version (I wanna try max 2 but haven't gotten the chance) My three favorite songs are Healing Vision, Sandstorm, and of course MAX 300 WOO!

u hook it up to a console and its a dancemat with arrows on it.....arrows slide up the screen and u hit the correct arrow at the right time
i for one suck at this game and it took a decent amount of alcahol to get up and try in front of all the girls that were there
since ive played it twice and continue to suck badly

ohhh, i play ddr. I like extreme really, cause I i usually play on 1.5x or 2x and stuff. I play on 7 feet, although ive beaten sakura (a song not Haruno Sakura) ONCE on standard, which was 8 feet.... ;_;

I picked up DDRMax2 recently and that's been my first exposure to the game. I like it, but I also suck at it. Unfortunately, that's only made worse by the fact that I live in an upstairs apartment, so I can't play it at night, and I have to play with regard to the noise it would create. So I've given up on it for now, and I'll play it when I have access to a better place for it.

The game itself can be found just about anywhere. The mats can be a bit harder. I found the package with 1 mat and DDRMax2 at a super Wal-Mart. As for just the mats alone, I've seen them at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, EB, and probably a couple other places at some point or another, but their availability is never very reliable.

I play DDR. I have DDRMAX and DDRMAX2 for PS2. I have a Level Six foam pad and this crappy pad I bought for $20. I do Standard songs and a few nonstop courses. Can ay1 here do any freestyle moves?

Well, since the new DDR post that got locked reminded me of this thread, I guess I'll bump it with an update of my progress in DDR. In August I shelled out the $346 for a Cobalt Flux pad, the thing is sweet. Right after getting it I started to improve a lot. I'm still far from what I would consider 'good' though. I can AA a song or two on light, a lot of songs on standard are still hard for me, and the only song I've passed thus far on heavy is The Shining Polaris (a 7 foot song), and I only managed a D on it.
I bought an Xbox soft pad and rigged up the circuit board to be used as an Xbox control box for the Cobalt Flux, but I still play DDRMax2 mostly, and Ultramix just sits on my shelf. I'd get DDR Extreme if I weren't saving up for a DS.
DDR is just insanely fun. I haven't managed to lose any weight since a lot of the time I'm only awake during hours when I can't play it (due to living in an upstairs apartment). Meh. I'll probably play it a bit in a half hour or so.

Im thinking on getting DDR Max 2 or Extreme 2...but I was looking at all the pads on ebgames, and anything under $50 they say breaks in a few days. So what kinda pads do you guys think would be good? I doubt I need some $300 chrome dancepad unless it comes with a backscrather and makes me martinis. Would like a $50ish pad be good enough to play good, and last for quite awhile?

Ignition pads are the shiz, those things aren't as flabby as the cheap dance pads, but they're not like the hard metal ones! ^_^ My friend bought those...er...I think $100 dollars a piece...
The cheap pads are okay, as long as you don't have friends that stomp on them like monkeys, but I don't recommend them, for they're very hard to dance on, especially when it comes to the fast and hard songs ^_-
