Gai vs. Itachi

Is it me or do you think that Gai would be the perfect counter for Itachi.
Gai already knows how to avoid Magekyo, and he's probably better than most at Taijutsu techniques; which would render Sharingan useless in their fight. In fact, last time he faced Itachi, Itachi decided to stop fighting and left. I think it's because he knew that Gai would be the toughest one for him to deal with.
Oh well, Gai has to deal with Kisame for now, but that leaves a great opportunity for us to see Gai possibly use his summoning skills. :D

Yea, Gai vs. Itachi would be interesting. As would Neji vs. Itachi (answering the question of which bloodline is superior would be nice as well). But I agree with the summoning skill, I want to see that turtle again!

neji is too young. i dont think neji is a match for itachi yet. on the other hand i wanna see that turtle summon. sharingan isnt completely useless. it can have that prediction thingy that sasuke used on naruto for taijutsu.

I just want to see Rock Lee in a proper fight against someone without an ultimate defence, I mean come on Gara and Kimimaro one after the other, no wonder he's been beat so bad.

Sure I can :P its only an opinion. What we've seen of the mangekyou so far is the 2 jutsus God of the moon, and God of the sun. Maybe Itachi will have learned something like God of the earth or something now. 2 years ago Itachi was drained after using those two jutsus once each. Not totally, but he would've never lasted against Jiraiya one on one. On a side note, everyone is talking about Itachi being stronger than Oro. :lol: NOT! That was only when Oro couldn't use his arms anymore. He can apparently use them once again. Add the 2 years experience and Oro is still the deadliest guy out there next to the leader of Akatsuki. You know Oro is one bad mofo still yet when Akatsuki is talking as if they miss his abilities. Anyway, Gai > Itachi.

i say that itachi would win for sure. sure gai does have incredible speed but the sharingin eye can see him comeing and since its itachi he has an even better eye then sasuke or kakashi.

actually oro still had use of his arms when he left akatsuki, and he mentioned that he(itachi) was stronger at that time. sharringan useless? yea being able to predict all of gai's movements would be pretty useless alright. just cause gai doesnt look itachi in the eye doesnt make sharingan useless, it just makes the hypnotism and mangenkyou useless, which arent the only strengths of sharringan.

yea he was tired after using the mangekyou twice in a day, you really think he would need to use it twice on one person?

I believe Gai would lose to Itachi... Though this is more my speculation of how it would be written, than it is a comparison of their raw abilities...

I highly doubt Kisame willl summon a shark >_> It would be cool (and weird.... and useless) but I don't think everyone has their own summon- there are only certain animal-types to 'choose' from >_>

i wouldn't be surprised if samehada wasnt a separate entity, but is rather a sword created from kisame's body or jutsus. thats why he can control it.

I rekon Gai could put the beat down of Itachi because at the river when they first met him and kisume, Gai said to watch Itatchi's feet to avoid the sharingan AND that there were other ways to fight against sharingan, but would take to long to teach/be to difficult for them. (cant remember, don't have the manga with me at the moment) Im keen to see what these other techniques are, Gai doesnt seem the type of guy (had to say that :wink: ) to bluff

ill go with itachi it just seems right that evil is stronger in fights before dramatic endings happen
