I am totally behind bap and des on this one. I honestly think the show needs to be destroyed or desicrated (thats your job des). well thats how I feel because I think its mindless and even I could make something better than it. plus I never saw the point in the freaking show.

see, there are people here like me, des, and DBZwarrior who are attracted to intelligent humor that make you think and use your brain to get the joke, unlike in ed, edd, and eddy where someone runs into a fence or something to make you laugh aka DUMb humor....and saying buttered toast is NOT funny...maybe the ones who can't get the intelligent humor like this show...

Family Guy isnt that good, Simpsons is the best SHOW. Family Guy rips off alot of stuff from the simpsons. ok let me put this into perspective for everyone. ed edd and eddy has absolutely no point to it. at least with most shows they have a point to what they are doing. in ed edd and eddy there is no plot line, no actual jokes and really its not that funny its just incredibly stupid. Family Guy actually has a plot to each show and a reason for the stupid things happening, so does the Simpson's (which I don't watch all to often), and Futurama. I noticed you were talking about Jackass. belive me Jackass is not stupid humor. its them doing the stupid and idiotic things that we want to do but are to afraid to do. so Jackass has a point to it also, it to show people that the things they think of doing can really get them almost kiled or sent to the hospital.

I mean watch regular tv sitcoms and that stuff if you want some laughs. or as bap might possibly say, it may be to much intelligent humor for any of you guys who watch ed edd and eddy to understand. if you don't have anything further than put the conversation aside or just have a mod delete this topic to avoid any other arguments about this. to be honest I think that there was no reason for a fight over something so stupid as a simple comment.

This is going to be a long and hopefully somewhat intelligent post where i defend Edd, Ed, and Eddey in a couple of wars

First off, thats all take a deep breath and realise this show is geared towards kids (dun dun a dun) and as such the quaility of it should be measured in how much a kid likes it. So whether or not a 23 likes it is of little consequence. (BTW this is still my fav cartoon cartoon, and i loved it as a kid, so i am bias)

Putting that aside, thats evaluate it from an older person (like a teenager/ adult) stand point.

First of all this show has some rare, but hilarious, very intelligent humor moments. Intelligent to the point that NO KID gets the joke. This is in the form of allusions and parodies of popular/cult classic comedy films. Let me give you an example. One time the Eds where trying to dig up something from under a neighbors trailor, and they were wearing construction worker outfits. Edd had a name tag on (also at one point he said his name out loud) of Walter Sobchek. If you have no idea who that is, go rent the Big Lebowski, an amazing cult classic movie. I was rolling when I saw that and knew what it was. It is parts like this that save adults who watch this with there kids.

Back to overall humor direction of the show. To me, this show can be really funny, but not in a shocking "lets cross a taboo" way like family guy is (an example would be "you will always be my silver medal bride louis, thats funny as crap, cuz you would never say that, but i dont call that "intelligent humor". This show is funny when your with some friends, or your really laid back or something of that nature. You find some of the stuff to be funny if you give it a chance. For instance, once Ed had a chicken in his mouth (the viewer did not know this) and Edd says to Ed "Ed.... ED!..... GIVE IT SOME AIR MAN" and Ed stuck out his tounge and there was a chicken on it. That to me, was HILARIOUS. I also think it should be noted that often times this show shocks to be funny, like when Ed does something completly nasty, like pull cereal out of his stomach and sells it to someone. And also alot of my friends like this show, sure we grew up with it, but we still find it to be funny.

anyway, thats what i think about the show.

and also cowboy bebop is a good example of what i think the above ment by intelligent humor, and no, ed edd and eddey are never funny in that way.
