Freekin awsome chapter, it seemed like this week went by really slow because i was waiting for it. Gaara flat out laid the smack down on the Akatsuki Member. It didn't even know what hit him. I had a feeling that was going to happend and that we were going to see that gaara isn't the kazakage for nothing. He clearly has learned to contorl that sand on a huge level. It was kind of stupid for akatsuki to try and attack the kazekage of the sand village in the sand village. He clearly at a home turn advantage, howerver i doubt it would have turned out any differently had he been anywhere else.

Youre right Tarmac. I just reread chapter 247. Its this guy that mentioned something about someones "husband", and even then that might be a bad translation. I think the word "husband" can also mean "master", and in a manga like this one I wouldn't be so surprised.

What a great chapter!! Gaara truly is worthy of the Kazekage title. Somehow I doubt that the battle is over, though. It looks like Gaara used Desert Coffin to crush the Akatsuki girl's arm, so she may be out of the fight--but I bet the guy who was with her will step in. What do you guys think?

Everyone seems to be forgetting that the Akatsuki travel in pairs. Gaara has not yet defeated the Akatsuki attacker. He did something to surprise his attacker, but he did not defeat him. The second Akatsuki will intervene between before his team mate is taken down.

You can get the translation again at narutofan now. Anyways, first off let me say my bad on the guy/girl that i thought was Ino you couldn't see it clearly in the previous chapter, but in this chapter you can see her/his forehead protector clearly.

I personally don't like Gaara's outfit that much but that it just me. Gaara of course kicks ass like everyone else has said so far. Also i don't think/want anything to happen to the guy/girl because that will be not very good story telling, i would prefer it if they retreated and Gaara goes destroy them again with the help of people like Naruto, Shika, Neji, and co.

Does anyone have a definite answer as to whether that Akatsuki person is a guy or a girl? In one of the previous manga chapters (I forget if it was 246 or 247), they referred to him/her having a husband ("Sasori, your husband should watch too"), but in this chapter Gaara said "He uses strange projectiles and controls them from afar". Anyone know for sure?

Ugh...its too hard to tell whether or not its a guy or a girl. The word for "husband" in the case of 247 could also mean "master" and in the raw for 248, there was no subject when Gaara mentioned that the Akatsuki member "used a strange explosive." In Japanese, you dont have to say He used an explosive, but instead you omit the subject and it is implied that you are talking about "him". The guys gender is still ambiguous and i doubt itll be solved until more chapters are released.

Oh man, I really hate it too. There doesn't seem to be a point to do that except to be annoying/funny, and its not funny at all. If you almost stopped because of that for Naruto, you should have seem Ranma 1/2. It seemed to me that Rumiko Takahashi had some strange shemale fetish for that one. It really pissed me off. On top of that, Ranma 1/2 didn't even have a straight story line. It just had characters and a bunch of "episodes" making for a manga with a lack in focus. See how pissed of people were when we had filler episodes for the anime? Thats basically all Ranma 1/2 was.

Yeah, I read the Inane translation this morning, and in their version, Gaara did say "she"--the "he" was in an earlier translation that I read.

Hmm, I wonder if maybe the "yeah" at the end of each sentence is actually coming from that mouth on her hand. I mean, it's a mouth, so it should be able to speak, right? Maybe it just agrees with everything she says?

BTW, did anyone notice if she has a mouth like that on both hands? Because it looked like Gaara crushed one arm with Desert Coffin--if her techniques rely on that mouth and the only one she had was on the hand that got crushed, she could be out of the battle, unless she or Sasori has medical ninjutsus.
