View Full Version : How do you Increase BT Download Speed?

I'm having problems downloading episodes with BiTtorrent. My direct downloads take about 25 minutes for 170 MBs, at about 260 KB/s, but my download speed with BitTorrent is stuck under 10! I would really appreciate some help in this matter.

Actually, it seems my problem is only with the older episodes of Naruto (i.e. #28). Could anyone provide some insight?

It's probably because not as many people are distributing them because they're old.

Yeah, so you gotta wait painstaking hours to the next day for direct dl, and if it works, "Yay... finally." Or if it doesn't, "...aw man, fudge, ...not again." Well, start counting down the days till you catch up... you got a long journey ahead.

*Sigh* I hope my downloads go well today, usually I only get to download one per day, It's alright though, at least I'm getting one.

Maybe if you ask someone to seed for you those torrents, that's usually the case with older episodes.

Also, if you prevent ppl from downloading from you, bt runs slower.

not really. its supposed to be that way, but i set my upload speed to 1 and i get fast downloads. it just takes longer for it to get fast.

your probably getting slow speeds cause of a firewall on your comp or your router. i had my firewall on my router on and it slowed by BT dl's to like 5kbps but after i turned off the firewall i got 300kbps speeds

or you could solve it all by using a direct download :)

Mmm... , yea , well , it's impossible to dl faster , the best thing you could do is req more seed from someone ?!?! , don't know who though

i think it depends what dirrect DL server your getting off..
some go super fast..
one was going 240 for me...
another was going only 14..
bittorrent is worse ..
the fastest i went on that was 60..
my average on it is 25-35
