yeah, i dont think he is that young. i dont think anybody can really know how old he is in the gaiden... theres all different bits of "evidence" that contradict each other [eg: Kakashi was in ANBU leader when he was 12 (or was it 8? i get Itachi and Kakashi mixed up :P), then this Gaiden is set 10 years ago, if so, that would mean he is 16... i hope i dont have to explain that one too you. :P]

it's DEFINATLY NOT 10 years it's probably closer to 15-20 years. if it was "10 years ago" naruto would be like 3 years old and the 4th would be DEAD.

HAHAHAHAH :-D... Yeah so any ways that chapter was great, its good to see that Kakashi had family, because i had always wondered about that(mainly I thought he was just an orphan or something). Don't you all wonder about that? Like who where Rock Lee's parents, or Gai's, or Asumas, or Ten Ten's. I also like the reasoning that they gave for the chidori needing the sharigan to effectively operate. And the 4th did some kick ass things as well (the Yellow Flash, huh? Sounds like some retired comicbook hero to me -_-).

Well actually fungus probably assumed 10 years ago because it says around, which is a bit vague around could mean somewhere in between 50 years if u looking at it in the rigtht way but i think naruto is about what 12 and at what age did kakashi get his jounin? then we will know how long it was ago but i am now interested in seeing more jutsus from the 4th...

when I was reading 240 I read "yellow flash" as "yellow trash"..... I was like wtf!?!?

Well, I think there's very confusion around the the exact moment that storyline occurs.

The manga says "AROUND ten years ago"... that must be perfectly 13 years for instance. It would mean that kakashi is 13 yrs old and the 4th is not still the 4th... maybe he was named hokage very liitle before Kyubi appeared... one year or so. Kakashi was genin at 5, chuunin at 6 and now it appears to be named jounin at 12/13.

I expect that make up some minds :-).

i still think that the gaiden is supposed to show kakashi at sixteen and how he happened to obtain that sharingan eye but kishimoto wnats to show what happens 10 years before when kakshi was only six for the sake of character development.

He reached chuunin when he was 6 years younger than Naruto so 6/7 there, not Jounin so he's probably 8 or 9 during this arc. Rather than comment blindly on memory alone why not take the few minutes and look it up :?

Kakashi is definitly not 8 years old in the arc. I'm pretty sure that Kakashi is around 27 in the present, and since the gaiden probably takes place around 13 or 14 years ago, Kakashi is probably either 12 or 13 at this time.

Kakashi's 26, but I figure the Kyuubu problem was several years following. So I'll change my geuss a little and go with 9 or 10.
