In "From Dusk Till Dawn" he is just an actor... and as an actor he isnt the greatest.
That man is a true genius when it comes to directing and thinking up movies, the best dialogue's combined with an insane story. always filmed as a "to be cult movie" cause every single one of them is a cult movie.

I didn't think the Kill Bill movies were all that spectaculor... but Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown are awesome. 3 of my favorite movies of all time, behind Boondock Saints of course.

umm...im really not so sure ^^;;
but i do know that they have 2 episodes starring him.
i've decided...i voted "hell no!!!!" coz there was just no plain "no" or "i think he they're alright" and most the movies i saw that he has made i didn't like..so majority rules
Loved Resevoir Dogs
Hated Kill Bill 1& 2
Didn;t like Little Nicky in which he acted
and haven't seen the others

What, you hate Kill Bill?! OMFG!
Reservoir Dogs was okay, though the ear thing was a little extreme.
that ear thing is awesome...i wanna get the action figures of that scene
Yes, i hate Kill Bill...what a horrible movie...both of them, imitatiing cheap japanese samurai movies with that fake blood...if i wanted that i would just watch Kozure Ookami
Horrible acting and stupid plot i thought, not original...some guy betrays her, kills her family, then she takes revenge...
and Uma Thurman was super ugly in that movie too...she might just be super ugly originally, but i haven't seen alot of her movies (thank god)

OMG! Finally someone who understands me! :D (And you're mexican as well :o )
Kill Bill vol. 1 is in my -Favorite Movies- list  ( Just look at my Naruto Chaos Profile  )
And if you're still wondering.. he's indeed an Otaku, that's why he brought "Hero" to America, and if you watch the 'extra features' in the Kill Bill DVD, you'll see how he loves the japanese culture :D
Oh, and you can notice it just watching Kill Bill Vol. 1 <_<
Hero prolly woulda come to America without him...just not as big,..which wouldnt matter coz that movie sucked too

Me thinks you don't understand the Japanese and asian culture style of movies.
Different seems to mean shit in your books, and it's a little frustrating, to say the least :?
Hero, I heard, was a well made movie with interesting and innovative techniques. Such as the emotion/colour thing.
If you can't understand or appreciate it <shrugs> But you don't need to so violently hate on it :?
you talking to me?!?! haha nah...i like different movies...i like alot of the Japanese samurai movies such as Zatoichi, Yojimbo, Seven Samurai, Samurai 1-3...umm OH! gotta love Kozure Ookami LOL (just because its incredibly ridiculous)
i just don't like these incredibly fake fight scenes with this fake blood and flying people
but Hero did have a more art style than say Crounching Tiger
and i did not violently hate on it

Really didn't like Kill Bill...I hate Uma Thurman though and I'm not a huge fan of spaghetti westerns. As for Hero, I saw that when it was released four years ago and it's amazing (kinda upset QT managed to get his name on it). Overall, I don't find him especially talented as a director or as an actor, most of his plots are stolen and much of his work isn't innovative in any way.
^this guy knows what he's talking about

Wow Bap, I thought that we were the best friends, since we both love Blink 182...
But I still can't believe you don't like Quentin Tarantino... That's unforgivable! :x
I like the way he directs dammit!
I only agree with this "Onikage" guy in one part... I still can't get why Quentin Tarantino got his name in Hero's credits...

quentin tarantino is awsom all his movies are verry good and he was in the credits of hero because
In a surprising interview with Fangoria magazine, Tarantino revealed, that he battled with Miramax (who holds the rights to Zhang Yimou's HERO) to finally release the film (which is almost 2 years old now, and hasn't gotten ANY attention from Miramax, who already had edited the film down to 95 minutes - a version that was also shown all over Europe), and to top it, he convinced Miramax to release it in its original version, which is over 120 minutes long.
This is what Tarantino said (the entire interview will be in the April 16 Issue of Fangoria Magazine)
"And I am very proud to do that," Tarantino tells Fangoria Magazine. "I had to fight for it with Miramax. I think they lost faith in it and everything. And I thought that HERO was an absolute masterpiece, so I fought with them not to cut it. Not to bring it down, but to keep it the same length as when I saw it. And finally they agreed if I would present it. So I got in touch with Zhang Yimou and he was cool with that. Yeah, he was as happy as a clam. So that's what I am doing—it's pretty much what I did for IRON MONKEY."
The Film will released in New York and LA this June.
Thank god, Miramax has been put to some sense by Tarantino. I had to endure this MiramAxed version of Hero here in Germany and it was terrible. Now lets hope they pull the same thing with Shaolin Soccer which has also been delayed and cut by Miramax.
basicly Zhang Yimou made the movie to start with and QT made mirimax put it out so he got a mention in the credits because if it wasent for him the movie would have never made it :) hope that helps you confused ppls
Hero still sucked whether it was 90 minutes or 120...

Well I saw Hero....the first half anyways. Fell asleep...not because I was bored, but just tired. It was alright....the whole Crouching Tiger style was kind of annoying. I like when movies are more real. Overall his movies aren't great, but they are pretty good imo.
