Well the main reason is that sprite edits are very easy and are not really fully your work and this section is to display YOUR OWN work so yeah unless you make them more of your own like changing more of kirbys body instead of just adding to it then it will be allowed.

but man, i believe that sprite editing IS a full work.. those kirbys are simple copy &paste, a couple of pallete swaps and some pixel works..

if you'll look at my old edits (http://forum.narutochaos.com/viewtopic.php?t=4833)i just used some sprite as a base and edited all parts of their body.

for example that jin kazama.. my very first one, i used spiderman as a base and edited all parts him.. and it wasnt very easy.. specially the muscles coz i suck at shading department :(

and that seifer from gambit.. and many more

Well ok....I based my rules from many other forums Ive been on and they all didnt allow sprite edits but I guess its ok...just as long as you make them just a bit more custom :)
