i like the fact that akamatsu is trying something different. it not as much as a romantic manga as his other works. i've only read up to volume 3 (so no spoilers!) but i think negi and asuna have more of a brother sister relationship than a boyfriend girlfiriend one.

i downloaded ep 20 to see where the series was in terms of the manga and it was the kyoto field trip arc. "oh boy! my favorite arc there's no way they can mess this up" and then BAM! WTF! was it just me or did they SKIP the negi / kotaro fight !? how are they going to introduce kotaro into the series now?

Well I've been getting the torrents from mininova.

Brief synopsis:

Negi Springfield is a 10 year old Magician from Wales England. He has recently graduated from a Magical University and has received his first assignment as a Magician. Teaching English to a bunch of Japanese Junior High school students at a private girls only school.

It's by the same guy who did Love Hina. And has a lot of similarites to it. Lots of humerous sexual moments. Plenty of fanservice (in the manga, there's barely any in the anime). And lots of weird stuff going on. The story mostly centers on Negi, and the 31 girls in his class.

Ahhh, here we go... I didn't see this earlier.

As for the anime/manga, I've seen the entire anime. But only read the first two volumes of the manga (cause I can't find volume 3 ANYWHERE).

Apparently the anime only covers the first six volumes, and the last story arc (with Asuna selling her soul to a demon) was completely filler. Not to mention it really shortened a lot of scenes. I mean the Kyoto arc was only two episodes, when it's like... 3 volumes long in the manga.

Also, they're apparently producing two OVAs for the series. Which will cover later arcs of the manga.

Kotaro appeared. Though he got very little screentime.
But gah... none of the bookstores here have volume three, I have up to 9 (excluding 3) but I don't wanna read um until I get three... it's a pain.

I find the constant fanservice a bit annoying to tell the truth. Heck sometimes even the characters comment on it.

We'll probably get more info when Negi goes to his "Tea Party" after the festival. Though he's gonna have to deal with all this Chao stuff first.

Anyway, which of the Negima girls is your favorite? I personally like Ayase Yue the best. I'm glad she was finally able to make a pactio with Negi.

looks like they're being released every week. oh, and now i'm downloading the chaps and catching up to the newer ones . i plan on still buying them when they come out in the us tho ( if the translation is good and the company translating does justice to the original, i buy it) . man i like this series more and more the more i read. akamatsu is by far my favorite mangaka. not only his art work awesome, he's shown himself to be extremely versatile in his story telling. to do romance comedies like love hina and then do a shonen action series like this is awesome. ( now only if this new anime and ova will be good )

thanks. its weird. no fanservice. could it be that they plan on making negima a 100 % action shonen series for this one? intresting to see how they move the story along. they started off the series with the very first actual "fight " between negi and evangeline. so hiyo, i take it u've been watching the episodes, what did u think of em( and anyone else who watched them)? i just watched the new episode. i hope they slow down the story (it seems like it is about to ) to introduce all the characters. that and i don't like the sailor moon transformation type scenes. so lame .. .either way,its looks alot better than the last series

sub for episode 4. i 'm still not sure what to think about this new anime. its um....weird to say the least. i also saw the raw for the 5th episode. they changed up the intro with different characters singing. the first 4 eps are by Rina Satou, Akemi Kanda, Ai Nonaka & Yu Kobayashi who are the voices for negi, asuna , konoka , and setsuna and is pretty good. the new one is by Hazuki Tanaka , Yui Horie & Junko Minagawa who are the voices for ku fei , makie and ayaka and none of them can sing T_T

haha u do realize u've had a page long conversation about that. he speaks dutch ( i assume ) and doesn't like to read in english because its a foriegn language for him and which is kinda confusing becuase i'm assuming he watches the subs and they're in english so ...idk oh well

all i want is for them to animate the tournament fights, why must they torture me with these filler quality storylines

Well I actually just listen Japanese, I had 5 year Japanese class so I know what they are talking about, even without the subs.

And there is a big gap between reading a book in English, or reading posts on a forum. Heck English is my 4th language that i learned, not counting Dutch with it

two months now and still no translations -_-..... they better have every single chapter when they start again . i've just been looking at raws now. and believe or not , the second series of the anime is looking at being cancelled too. and for good reason. it sucks worst than the last one...it just looks better doing it. why oh WHY do this production companies think they can squeeze this series into a 26 episode show? that's like trying to fit naruto or bleach into that amount of space. its just not happening

they just came out with new chapters at stoptazmo. go get em! negi and chao fight was awesome. i'm almost glad they stopped translating them weekly. don't think i could've waited every week for a new chapter. i liked reading them all at once
