This looks like a good movie. It seems like its gonna be one of those movies that messes with your mind. So, anyone see it yet?

Pretty interesting movie.
I've seen the Japanese version and it does mess with your mind a bit.
It's a bit confusing in the beginning but clears many question marks towards the end.
I don't think the American version will be that good but hey, it's the same director, who knows?
In order to understand it better, I recommend that you watch the first and second movie in Japanese (if you can get a hold of it).
Second one is even more confusing but as you watch it more and more the pieces come together to a big picture.
Go watch it and beware of the CAT BOY!

I know someone who's seen it, and he says it was the scariest movie he ever saw. In fact, let me quote him on this:

If you don't like scary movies, don't, and I mean DON'T ever see this movie. And if you do like scary movies, don't, and I mean DON'T go and see this movie.

right now I am downloading the orginal. I didn't want to go see the American version until I had seen the orginal. I am interested in getting the second one but I am having enough trouble downloading the first.

I saw the trailer for both the American and the original versions and I think the trailer for the orginal is probably better at explaining what is going on in the movie. I also watched a thing about the making of the American version and it explained some things and looked scarier then the orginal as far as graphics. But I am excited to see it because I am so interested in Japanese folklore and urban type legends are just as cool ^^

I usually have nightmares at night when i watch a really scary movie like The Ring, but the nightmares go away like 2 days later anyway =/

I dont know why i have nightmares, its just imaginations in my mind, something in me is just making me think something is around me :shock:

Anyways, this one gave me nightmares for maybe a week.
After, it just kinda got stuck in my mind.
Everytime I take a shower in the morning (about 5:30 am), I'm a little paranoid.
So far the critics reviews are pretty bad for this one.

Ive heard this movie was scary.
It just makes me want to see it more. :P
Getting scared is kinda fun sometimes once the whole fear thing is over. :P

Damn, i cant really remember what The Grudge is like because i saw the jap like a year ago, was it the movie where that girl puts chairs, couches, 100 weight stuff on a door and all the ghosts had to do was just push the door to the side?

Because that part was FUNNY! Most hilarious thing ive seen so far in a scary movie.

Its not a bad movie.
The scary girl at the movie, really reminds the girl from the ring, look so much alike.
The movie is a bit creepy, but not anything special.
if you had the guts to watch the ring, you would have the guts to watch that.
Anyway, i heard its not as scary as the Japanese version.

yes... like I posted in the other post... english version of ju-on (the grudge) sucked hardcore ass... for people who havent seen it yet.. I think you should watch the jap versions first... same goes for dark water

I can understand the critics for having a Grudge against it (get it? get it?), although it had some of the scariest scenes ever, it lacked the story and the common sence to put those things together in a story... I found so many wholes in the story... lol....
btw - the SAW is better, if only because it is original and has a better story...

Anyway, I heard that they're doing the sequel in the US soon....

i liked jap. ring and blair witch project much more.

no offense but i hated Blair Witch all that movie did to me was made me dizzy...i loved Ringu and The Ring as well...

how bout "1 Missed Call"?
it's much better than the Grudge & The Eye, it's kinda more like The Ring
where one day your cel fone rings with a different ringing tone & it's a missed call but the date when the call was made hasn't happened yet & when you listen to the messgae, you'll hear yourself & you die on the exact time & date of the missed call, i think its pretty good...

I saw The Grudge...it was okay...but for some reason I liked it so much that I watched it twice in theaters. I've heard that Ju-on is better, but I can say this much...the visual effects were awesome! ^.^

I wasn't scared, I wasn't gripped, I wasn't even shocked :| Maybe it's an awful remake, or maybe it's just a bad movie, hmm....

If you want to watch a Japanese or otherwise 'foreign' production, read subtitles... If you don't want to read, learn the language.

jap. grudge is classic. it had to make big money (otherwise usa ppl wouldnt make american version)
so. it was at least pretty good movie.
american version was funny and not scary at all
(or maybe i should go with girlfriend [it could be good movie then]. cause i was with male friends.)
