Naruto AVI files

Hi. I've just downloaded some Naruto eps, but whenever I go to play them they don't work. I'm using DivX, VLC, Windows Media Player... the lot, but I just get an error saying to check that it is an AVI file. I used GSpot in case I was missing a codec but GSpot simply says it isn't an AVI file, even though the extension of the file is .avi .
I'm completely baffled. Can anyone please help me?[/i]
