Cult Classic of the Week: Joe's Apartment!

Ah yes, that underground masterpiece starring the most vile vermin mankind has ever faced besides politicians... roaches. Indeed, as I type this post, I am watching this movie.

Premise: Young man Joe moves to New York for whatever reason and meets local artist Walter Shit. Walter helps him commandeer a dead old lady's apartment that is infested with about 40,000 roaches! These roaches sing, dance, help him romance an optimistic urban renewal fangirl, and help him keep his gang banger landlords away

'tis quite humorous and I'd like to know if anyone else has seen this funny movie about a man and his roaches and what a team they make!

My friend says that it appeared on MTV in the late 80s. I had no idea that it was in theaters. Then again, I was born in '85 and I didn't see Joe's Apartment until a few years ago.

These roaches do a whole musical on the lip of a toilet bowl and then synchronized swimming in said toilet bowl. I was laughing so hard at that. Heck, the roaches even have their own porn channel. Then again there are some scenes that would make most people a bit squeamish- especially if you can't stand to have bugs on or around you.
