THE LACK OF LOVE! Seriously, I'm fukkin sick of it! I just finished watching History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, and like most anime, the end sucked! Why can't the author just make the ones meant to be together, TOGETHER?! I mean, Eyeshield, Slam Dunk, heck even Ouran High School Host Club doesn't end the way it should, it's based on LOVE yet it doesn't end the right way, WTF?! So yeah, i'm pretty hyped up and mad right now, i need some serious dose of love anime, anyone caring to propose one? And if you approve of what i said above, feel free to scream it out!

GAH!! Really, lol, I'm pissed, i watched 50 episodes to see NO KISS AT THE END! THE HELL?!

The HSDK anime isn't the end of the series though...

I know, but it still makes me mad, wouldn't a kiss scene be better animated than in fukkin black and white drawings????

Elfen Lied had kisses in it, Ergo Proxy had a pretty awesome ending and the two characters definitely had a connection and it was showed. You just watch the wrong animes :p

And if you want love that makes you tear up, watch Byosoku5Centimeter (spelling)

...Really? It had like zilch emotional effect on me. A music video of it I saw once before I even watched the series had actual impact on me, but not the series itself.

Umm... on the topic, ALMOST ALL comedic romances just plain old suck throughout. And I don't get your complaints at the end? The couples don't end up together? Big woop, better for them.

Noooooo, Kage you are so heartless! When i watch an anime that include any kind of love story, i want to see evidence at the end! I cannot be satisfied with hints or anything, i want it to be concrete and visual, like A KISS SCENE!

Nope. Elfen Lied is more, drama, fantasy, romance.. I think

Ergo Proxy is a VERY thought provoking anime, no comedy. It's like a thriller and mystery and sci fi all rolled into one... and love story of course :)

You just probably don't relate to their situation, or to the concept of and meaning of love. Or maybe not...

but the part where he went to see her and they spent the night in that small shed in the middle of nowhere almost made me tear up :(

see the problem is if the make a second season, it is better that way because in the manga they still are hinting at things.

Don't watch any Shounen manga and expect kissing.... or any type of straight forward affection.

Glad you contributed something important to the forum :p

But yea, you'll never see an actual romance flourish in a shounen manga... except maybe Eurika 7, which Chronus says is all romance

I don't think that's it. Hell, NHK no Yokoso made me almost tear up (manga, anime not too much but it still had some emotional effect) due to somewhat similar circumstances.

Air TV made be actually cry, but that was plain sadness factor right there.

as was stated, check out non-shounens if you want a better love story. There are those out there that aren't strictly limited to the love plotline, but usually it's one or the other.

I recommend Bokura Ga Ita and His and Her Circumstances for good love stories... Ruroni Kenshin there amazingly WAS progress in the love relationship... Busou Renkin (same author) there was some slight romance at the end...

Berserk had romance, though it wasn't exactly a happy ending haha, in the anime or the manga (though I guess we'll see where the manga goes), but at least there was progress. Not all animes are bad in the romance department, but shounen's target audience isn't for the romance-geared.

Just read seinen manga. All your problems are sloved.

Either romance is actually resloved, or somebody dies. It is sooo nice.

F*ck shounen and shoujo. >:P

First I believe they're already working on a 2nd season of HSDK. As for the manga, Volume 17 picks up where the anime leaves off. You're asking too much from anime based on mangas that are still running.

Vampire hunter.

Kaname or Zero(if he doesn't kill her first) are seriously gonna do it with the girl.

Try watching Ghibli films. Lol. Some are good though. Elfen Lied, Meh fantasy? Romance. Hm...you have some blood lust there, though next to Grave of the fireflies, I nearly cried at the ending. Your mad about the ending to your? I was angry at neon Genesis. I understood it though...

IMO, the only exceptional Ghibli film was Mononoke. Every other one was average or below (Totoro included, it's only so highly appraised because it sticks to your childhood like glue). Then again, I am harsh...

You want love ? Boku no Pico is a charming and warm choice for you. Warning though, it's not for closed minded rednecks.

Agree totally. My only problem is finding Seinen that's translated regularly. I'm running out. Doh!

I guess my question is why the original poster thinks HSDK is rom-com? It's all about the fighting, dude! If you don't like Kenichi kicking ass or getting his kicked, you're going to be sorely disappointed. It's not all about Miu. ;)

Sorry, really bad attempt at a pun.

If you want to watch an amazing anime. By far, one of the most above par anime I've seen to date is Darker Than Black. The anime came before the manga, so you know there won't be any storyline hiccups.

Anime this, anime that.. bah to anime! It's time to bring back Voltron! Plot, storyline, incredible writing -and- acting.. and those special effects. Wow.

This isn't really supposed to be a reccomendation thread, we already have one of those.

But then I guess it isn't much of a thread to begin with, just a person whining about aspects of shounen he doesen't like >_>...
