I loved this movie..a lot of good fight scenes, some dumb stuff too...but this movie was just great, what do you guys think?

bah, i didnt like it, it had lots of action and special effects without any sense, and the story was really boring, i like Vin Diesel movies, but this one really sucks, and i hate the end, i was like..

WTF?!?!?! he´s the new leader just because he put his ass in the throne?!?! :shock:

It wasnt Vin Diesel, it was the movie itself..

I didn't like this movie. It did entertain me, but I won't say it's a good movie.

And I will explain why, i'll just have to quote myself from another forum... I'm not writing another review...

To summarise; Riddick is a beautifully decorated piece of shit.

But don't worry! As excruciating as the appalling script and many unnecessary scenes are, this movie will most likely keep you entertained 'til the end. (Try to overlook the conclusion... Be gentle, I doubt the writer is any older than the members of this forum)"

You can honestly tell me you think the script was well written? Did you not see the amateur, totally unnecessary scenes traced throughout the movie? The dozens of clichés?
You detected none of this?
The story is based on the Necromongers ridiculous code. No one would found an empire with that code! That's setting yourself up for betrayal! There would be a never-ending struggle for power.
It was just predictable... from the moment that was established, I knew what was coming.

There was no flow at all, sketchy, incoherent and almost as if too much story was forced into one movie. This probably would have been better off spread out over a trilogy, with proper planning and a decent structure!

I won't even mention the various crimes, no, INSULTS to the audience's intelligence. We have thousands of degrees of heat COMBUSTING rock, and Riddick splashes a few drops of water on himself, yet somehow survives exposure to this earth blistering heat totally unscathed? That’s inexcusable!

The conclusion was just dreadful, absolutely dreadful.
"What are the odds of that" They actually closed on that line. That is incredibly weak... (Plus i'd say the odds were 1/1 since it just fucking happened!)

I think the story was great, if you get passed the cliches...they do not bother me, then you got the action, which is awesome, it has some very stupid parts, but every movie does...so i look passed them...if i enjoy the movie, i consider it liked...and named, 80% of americans cannot read over fifth grade, so i doubt this hurt thier brains any...lmao

Vin is not that terrible of an actor... he's just chosen some awful roles that don't *need* him to act ;)
I've seen him in Pitch Black, and Saving Private Ryan.. in both roles, he proved to me that he can act. He just never uses his full talent, and he doesn't push himself very hard. So usually, he's not that good. But he does have the potential for it.

PS: I haven't seen Chronicles. I wanted to, but based on what Named said (since I usually agree with him), I don't think I want to... maybe if I'm bored over the weekend, it'd be a decent rental to pass time.

Although that said, I do agree,Vin Diesel can act..but his choice of roles has been very poor.

I haven't seen Chronicals the film yet. I watched the animated version of it a while back when Pitch Black came out.

For those of you who think that Vin can't act, go watch Knockaround Guys. It's not a great movie, but Vin shows some talent in there.

Well, i think Vin Diesel can act, and hes one of my favorite actors, but the movie sucks, trust me...

Anyway, im like that, one day im joker, and the other one serious, im serious today, the point is...

I didnt like that movie and i THOUGHT this should be locked because no more people were polling and we all got the same conclusion, but now youve told me all your thoughts and youre right, im sorry about it, and i apologize for it.

Anyway, the script for that movie sucks, its just random action, and like i said before, i hate the movie, NOT Vin Diesel...

I'm commenting here because I -did- see this movie finally...
(on rental, mind you. My parents rented it earlier)

Named was right :lol: The script hurt me, it made me lose focus and want to forget about the impossible things that kept happening as "surprises" and "twists". Oh, all the cliches and the theories and the concepts of an empire that made no sense!
*poof!* STRONG EMPIRE RAR WE TAKE OVER OMG WE R RELIGIOUS TOO *eh?*
It seemed too blatant that they were trying a few failed metaphors:
- religion ("convert or fall forever", basically from "convert or die" an old tactic of religion fanatics), 'messiah' (the destined new leader), empire with much power (RAR WE TAKE OVER EVERYTHING), cults (wth... o_o), competition for power, romance (:shock: seemed terribly out of place here) and who knows what else.

Thinking about this movie makes my mind hurt. It nearly put me to sleep a few times.

But when I was awake and focused on it, the visuals -were- beautiful and the movie was well-produced. it's a "good" movie, production-wise. It's just not "good" enough to earn further compliments :P

As most of you said, it was nice to watch, but i wouldn't waste my time and money on a second watching. I actualy think pitch black was a better one.
