Research Team names Protein after Pokemon's Pikachu.
- Researchers led by Takahisa Furukawa, M.D. & Ph.D. of Japan's Osaka Bioscience Institute have named a protein that they discovered after the Pikachu character from Nintendo's Pokémon game and anime franchise. The "Pikachurin" protein plays a role in the efficient transmission of kinetic vision information from the eyes to the brain, so the researchers named the protein after the Pokémon character known for its fast moves. The researchers expect that the discovery will help advance the treatments for retinitis pigmentosa, a major hereditary cause of blindness. Source: ANN/Daily Yomiuri

Monochrome Factor, Nabari no Ou, Kateikyoushi Hitman Reborn were just licensed by Funimation and sent out a letter to the fansub groups saying that they needed to stop subbing those series.

So for those who were watching it seems that we will not be able to see the complete series in english for quite some time. unless of course, which i hope, another group picks it up.

EDIT: so was Bamboo Blade and El Cazador de la Bruja but those were already completed fansubbed series so it doesn't really matter.

The manga and anime diverged at the Greed arc when the anime caught up to the manga. So, everything that happened from Greed to the movie didn't happen in the manga.

If they are basing it off the manga I don't know how they'll be working it out. I'm guessing they'll bring in some of the manga characters that never appeared in the anime. Or, they could start over ignoring the plot from the anime lol.

Anyone know or ever heard if it was projected that there would someday be a Fairy Tail anime?

Hidden Ninja

ill take a look around, but i have seen no hints towards one. i still think its early to have one considering that we are only reading the 100th chapter.

edit: im sure there will be one, but maybe after another 50 or so releases.

Well considering Soul Eater has one and it is only at chapter 52 in the manga, a 100 chapters for Fairy tail doesn't seem so bad. But yeah, I agree, I don't wanna see too much fillers out of it so it might be better to wait a bit more....

Hidden Ninja

true but imo soul eater isn't as fast paced as fairy tail. everything in fairy tail is bang bang bang and bam its done. also it doesnt hurt for a manga to have a good pace ahead of the anime so there is no stress on the author.

Soul Eater having an anime after 52 chapters is different because Soul Eater's a monthly manga, and as such, has upwards of 50 pages per chapter. So while chapters have been released, there are actually more pages of Soul Eater released currently then there are pages of Fairy Tail. Anyways, I agree with Hidden that there is most likely going to be an anime of this series considering the popularity of the manga in Japan and elsewhere.

Yeah well, there are more pages overall, but one 50 pages chapter per month is less than 4 18 pages chapters a month, so the anime wouldn't catch up that easily....

I don't know where to post this but:
What day of the week does each manga chapter of bleach and one piece come out in? I barely got into this manga stuff so I don't know anything about the release dates and stuff.
Like.. bleach chapters come out every saturday or what? I need info on RAW releases, and if possible try to average translated releases.

Was gonna create a thread on this but its just a question

~Marvel Comics has formally announced a partnership with Tokyo based anime production studio Madhouse to develop four 12 episode anime television series featuring Marvel super hero characters. The first series, which will feature Iron Man and Wolverine, among other characters, will premier on the Animax network in early 2010.

Marvel International president Simon Philips has explained that Marvel intends for these super heroes to be redesigned to become “part of the fabric of [Japanese] society.” While Madhouse president Jungo Maruta agrees, “Marvel today is so open-minded. Marvel gives creators freedom to fly.” Madhouse chief operating officer Alex Yeh says of Marvel, “Although they say, ‘I want Japanese anime,’ it’s not what they actually want. They want a hybrid between Japanese and Western animation.”

The Marvel/Madhouse productions will also be developed into Japanese manga while the anime will be distributed via multiple outlets including cellphones.

According to REUTERS News, GDH, the mother company of GONZO, will gain 1.9 billion yen ($17.5 million) by the allocation of new shares to a third party Iwakaze Capital. As a result, the GDH president Ishikawa Shin-ichiro will resign taking the responsibility of the failed management and Karasawa Tetsuo will take over the position as COO from October 1st. Iwakaze will hold 82% of the stocks of GDH.

The amount of debt of GDH is in excess of their total asset. So it has been in one-year grace period before the removal from the list of MOTHERS stock market. This increase of capital saves GDH from being in a financial crisis, but the new managers sent from Iwakaze Capital will greatly affect the policy on GDH anime business.

Ishikawa Shin-ichiro will reportedly remain as an inside director of GDH. It's not announced whether he will stay in the CEO position.
