The story takes places in 17th century, France. Belmonde, a son of a noble father and a deceased witch mother, was born and raised in a cloister's basement. He is the master of an underground prison and has the rights to use any means to bring out confessions from his prisoners, namely by using "torture". With his eye, he is able to see through them... That is, if they do not comply to his questions.

I've read to the current chapter (19), and so far it's different. Belmonde's a very complex character that is pretty twisted and funny depending on the situation. If you think that it's boring because he's stuck in a basement, don't worry, it soon gets interesting. Check it out, this may be a new favorite for some, if onemanga stays current...like they so often do not...

I don't think that's the end dude...I'm pretty sure they just haven't finished uploading the series.

EDIT: holy sh**...it says completed on onemanga...I hope that's not right...seriously, the mangaka doesn't mention anything about ending the series on chapter 19....

nope from the manga site i belong to it says its completed and there is a total of 19 chapters.

Mangahelpers says it's complete, and I searched for it, the japanese wiki site has a 19 on the right in the section where chapter amount is usually listed. So, it seems it has 19 chapters.

Edit: Hidden you beat me I totally had this typed out and then my modem rebooted T_T.

wow...that pisses me off pretty badly. It was going so well too! Maybe the open, unsatisfying ending is leaving room for another chronicle. Hopefully...
