Ok guys I know there is a thread about making a mod for the Ultimate Spamzone, but I dont think thats the only place we need a new mod for because if you notice quite a few mods havent been on in almost a year, and many of them are pretty inactive in general coming on only once every few months. I think that it might be best if we replaced some of the old inactive mods with new ones. What do you guys think?

Ok guys, Regina gave me the ok to start a new thread because of technical difficulties with the old one. Here is where everyone can express their thoughts on having new mods and where they can nominate who they think will be best suited for the job. Dont forget to include WHY youre nominating this person, and remember that no matter how many nominations a person may have, its upto Regina and the mods to decide on who they want to pick in the end. Youre also not just limited to nominating one person, and can put nominations for whatever sections you feel may need them. So guys..let the discussion begin :p

It is quite obvious that we need new mods. There are days at a time when no mod logs in. I'm not saying our atives do a bad job. They actually do a great job considering real life and all that goodness. There just doesn't seem to be enough of them. I think DC and Mimi would be great for the positions. I think Thistle and TLS would be both be great too. They both seem really responsible.

Hidden Ninja, he's a very mature member who is more balanced than most of the candidates named so far...though he didn'e specifiy what section he sees himself fittin in.

And Chidongan, though i don't think he even expressed any interest in modship. But if he did i'd totally back him for the round table.

And I do agree that NNT should move up a level to GM.

I agree with Hidden Ninja. During the SOS, he dealt with me and my "bloodline". Very helpful and mature, would definitely use good discretion to make decisions. Probably would be good for any section... maybe anime/manga complex. IDK, its up to him if he gets nominated.

I can distinguish between threads that do belong there for discussion and those that are just spam. With that being said look at the mods who have left recently or lost interest in the forums due to stress/issues of having to do too much.

But I basicly stay in sos and all I can say is it kinda needs atleast 1 more mod. It lost all 3 global mods due to personal reasons, and the other local mod hasn't really been seen in about 6 months actively.

As for the triple/quad account thing if it is actually true it's quite sad that its still hasnt been taking care of as I've watched someone the moment they created a 2nd account get banned while this one hasnt had anything done to it, double standards maybe?

:focus: I am in agreement that Chido would be a good mod. TBH I haven't seen enough of Hidden's posting to give my thoughts there. I do see him post a bit in the other anime section, but not many other places (we probably just aren't on at the same times). I also think Thistle would make a good mod. All these guys probably know all areas of the forums so they can help anywhere (not sure about Hidden, but he probably does that too).

BTW, why isn't there a mod for the "Anime/Manga Complex"? Is that just something GM's are left to monitor? If not, then I'd say we should nominate someone to LM that section. I see Hidden, Chido, Thistle, and myself in there the most. I say any one of us would do a good job modding that area. We all care about the material in there so we'd be just fine looking through all the threads, and we frequent it quite a bit.

as to global mods, i feel that a current mod should be promoted rather than giving a fresh mod that much responsibility. Unless of course there is an absolute need to make a fresh mod a global one then it should be considered with extra discretion.

ok, after reading everything and sitting back not saying everything im actually going to comment. i will start off by saying this is not meant as an attack but as a third person view without any bias.

1. if you have a static ip address and its the same, then its the same person. no exception.
2. with a dynamic address, the ip address does recycle, but people from different areas should not have similar ip addresses in all likelihood. if you take a percentage standpoint of the entire world and then certain people on the same forum having similar ip addresses is near impossible. even compare inpeople from the same area, do they have similar ip addresses or not, if they do then ok the idea is more plausible, if not, then you should believe the opposite. it is 1 in some ridiculous number that anyone on the same forum would have identical ip's.
3. papfles: school's can have similar ip's but not the same. also i thought it was stated at one point in the past that they don't attend the same school's. also they are all different ages, so i doubt they go to the same school or even internet cafe.

with what i say next, i hold no grudge against anyone and am not attacking anyone, remember this is from an outside perspective.

3. if you lie or break the rules, you should be punished, no matter how great of a poster you are. if you are so nice and great, then there is no reason to lie etc. other than for bad reasons.
4. if you didn't break the rules, then enjoy the stay.

reasons, whatever it may be, but this issue truly arose when mimi was nominated for modship. clearly the issue discussed was not even made clear between the mods as to how it stood. with that the issue came to light.

we have been friends for quite a while, while i wished you the best and gave you the best wishes, im going to be a friend and tell you what i see wrong with what you said.

while you are absolutely entitled to believe what you want as well as defend what you believe in, there are instances when your comments are blindly made and your actions were irresponsible.

if you discussed these matters with people outside of the mods, (which it seems two of them (mods that is) already feel opposite of what you have said), then you should have given some closure and told those same people that matters were closed and settled.

Because a guy answered the phone and said that mimi wasn't there doesn't mean she exists or that she had the phone. the only thing that proves is that once again you have no real proof that she is who she says she is.

while i understand your point of that there are those that absolutely obey what their parents say, there comes a point, especially in this situation, that you would want to prove you are who you say you are.

as to the pictures you receive, you say do this pose and she gives you a shot of that pose? while that is pretty good, it still isn't concrete proof that she is who she says she is unfortunately bc of all the skepticism.

whatever you decide, that is your decision and that is all there is to it.


in the end:
as to the matter of the accounts, i think all you mods should discuss it....without personal reasons/emotions coming into it.

if it is decided that she is guilty of what is said, i think a ban is necessary but not a perm one for the fact that i only know of only 2 people that were perm banned and that was ichee and crimlo for far worse reasons, everyone else rec'd timed bans, even dual account users.

Well since regina wanted names of suggestions my suggestion is kinda names.

I say that current existing global mods (that are still around) and regina determine the possible candidates for global mod from existing local mods.

If a local mod does get promoted then they should determine their replacement. This is mianly due to they know what a mod has to do more then anyone else and have the greatest insight on who would be the best fit.

Well since I only know 1 subforum in nc (which is sos) and people want suggestions really only 3 i would recommend for it.

Pap - Own pretty much every day and little to no one has had issues with him
IFTS - Stable decisions but does go mia at points
and lastly eventhough I hate doing this myself - I do go mia for work (which tends to be for about a month) but 2 global mods were pushing previously to give me nova's spot.

Since I'm one of the oldest farts here I'm partial to seniority. I think everyone on the list is qualified to be a mod of NC...I think they'll do a good job. But those that have been part of NC longer for me will get the nod over the others in the list for me so my ranking will basically fall very similar to a group by on join date. Yes u lukasz...u can take my title as the oldest active mod based on join date. ;)

Newer members on the list will get their chance soon enough. As you can see we do get drop offs in mods over time too.

This is me officially declining...A lot of people here think modship is cool and it will make them even more popular and stuff...but it's much more than that. Quite a few people nominated here make me wanna vomit - seriously. Some of them even helped other people create other lame ass forums and then attempted to steal chaos members to go to those lame ass forums only to return when they realized that narutochaos was the happenin place to be... I’m going to keep my mouth shut about who they are because it has nothing to do with the main topic.

As for global modship. I would love to have global modship but realistically it won't work out right now. My life is about to get very busy this summer to the point that I might even become inactive if things get hectic... I'm starting at the law enforcement academy in june and me and my wife are expecting a new baby in September right around when I’m expected to graduate the academy...It just wouldn't make sense for me to be a global mod only to not be available when the site needs me.

Thanks NNT, but I’ll just wait for the next round...the trend seems to be the same every year anyhow with talk of new mods and promoting mods.

To be quite honest, the current global mods do one hell of a job here. People just like to get antsy and bitch (sorry bout that word usage mousie) and complain about leadership and escalate incidents to make them seem way worse than they are... So what if someone posted porn in the forum? It’s been happening for a long time, probably before most of the complainers were even members. But guess what? -There's this little triangular button above the post to report these things to an available mod - use it! And when they come on they'll take care of it...that is if you think you'll live till then.

Ok guys I know there is a thread about making a mod for the Ultimate Spamzone, but I dont think thats the only place we need a new mod for because if you notice quite a few mods havent been on in almost a year, and many of them are pretty inactive in general coming on only once every few months. WTF??? R u serious? Aren't mods supposed to be the advocate and supporters of that forum. I take away my approval for any of those on that list that falls under this category. If you don't want to mention them publicly do tell me in private or share w/ the mods. We should definitely not let someone like that becoming a mod...hell no~~. How can this not be integral to the main topic at hand? I would have no qualms about listing them here.

If I was one of those who tried to steal NC members and now really wanted to be a mod, I would have to come up w/ some magical explanation as to why he/she should have this privilege in spite of what he/she tried to pull off. I don't know the full story behind this but from what you mentioned here it raises even more questions for me whether this/these nominee/s can be a reliable advocate of our fourm. We have the Discussion section in the Anime/Manga Complex for those manga/animes not having its own section. Obviously Nick viewed it completely differently from how you interpreted it and that is more than good enough reason to raise doubts. There are others in the list without this garbage (hopefully...lol) and they would definitely take precedence over the people in question at the very least.

They just don't know that posts arent completely deleted and can be seen by mods. Maybe that's why Nick or NNT should pm Regina? It's going to get decided among the mod-crew anyway, and they have a good idea of who is best suited for which nomination.

There is a thin line between conventional critizisim and complaints

For example you form a team of people who work towards a certain goal. Along the line you will have form a plan / strategy / tactic now at this point you open yourself to critizism as in , you want your team members to help you improve your creation by adding their knowledge on the matter. Simply saying how it should not be doesnt solve or contribute anything to the actual making of strategy / plan / tactic.

When you critizise someone you arent actually looking for faults , your looking for anything that can be improved and if there is something you believe could be done differently you claim that and state your way around the problem.

I haven't Really gone through this thread but I saw NNT on the List and knew he'd be a good choice for Global Mod. NNT can be harsh but definitely can be fair and just. I don't really know any of the others on the list because alot were just coming around when I left.

First off,
ONLY AND ADMIN CAN MAKE A MEMBER A MODERATOR.

Second, people BECOME moderators by recognition, contribution, and most importantly, recommendation by OTHER mods. (FYI, spam does not equal GOOD contribution.)

There are currently three admins. ONE of them is the most active.

There are ten universal/global mods. Three of which I know are over the age of 21, myself included.

There are seven sectional mods. Meaning they only mod a certain section.

Everytime I come to NC, everything I have come to know have been beaten, thrown out, burned, and shatted on. Spam USED to be soooo minimal. Ever since the layout change, it has been wide spread.

I do my best to come here as often as possible but every time I do, I can't find it in myself to POST anymore. Or even have an adequate discussion. Why? Because spam is extremely unsexy to me -.-. And its EVERYWHERE. So what do I do when I come to NC? Strictly MOD work, answer PM's, and busy leaving messages for regina to validate some member because they are being whiny babies about not being able to POST.

Back in the day, all we had were a hand full of mods. But peace was kept, and discussions were awesome. Even with all the people overwhelming the forums with spam, bots, and retarded advertisements about buying some program that costs 500 dollars or how to enhance size on a certain male anatomy. The difference between NOW and THEN was that spam was never tolerated the way it is now.

People are leaving me a crap load of messages saying "Mousie...I'm gone. delete my account pls...I hate the forums...its dying...too much spam, blah blah blah." Yeah well...tough. Get over it, swallow your b*tching, and move on.

No one backed me up when I was the only one against the forums being "reformatted" in terms of sections. You don't see me being a whiny baby. I am still here. Am I as active as I used to be? No. Why? I'm confident the other/newer mods want to do as much work as they can to show they are still contributing to the forums by cleaning it up the best they can. (That, or prove themselves that they are worthy rofl.)

Cause hell...if I had to do all the cleaning I would just delete everything spam here XD HAHA!

Majority of the veterans know to PM me and leave me messages when something happens or if something is getting out of hand. I can't sit here all day to read through SPAM to find some tart flaming someone.

So as you can see..I, Mousie, am still here. I am not afraid to play the "mean" mod because everyone else is too "timid" to do so. If something needs to get done I'll do it, no questions asked, kthx bai, go die...easy stuff.

It's not that hard to fix a problem, especially if it's a member making the problem worse. People think I am truly the mean one? You should have seen Des back in glory days. LAWL! Or AD back when she couldn't tolerated BS.

With that said...you want to make a "suggestion" that someone deserves to be a mod? PM us mods about it. We already know who is doing "police" work here on the forums and we already know who to recognize in terms of, if we need a new mod.

But by all means...stop having a discussion about it.
