I saw the old Exorcist some time ago, the one from the seventies. It wasn't too special.

horror movies are more humor movies, nothing what happens is realistic.
standard horror movie:
girl alone in bathroom, hears a sound, screams someone name.. "John? it that you".... "scary" music sets in. Girl calls john again. Then she is gonna take a shower, murderer appears on screen
Girl screams alot, she gets killed, blood is gushing everywere.. so unrealistic.

This new "Exorcist" movie was par excellent in my mind. It answered a lot of the questions left over from the original. I.E.- Where did the demon come from and explained a bit about Father Merrin's past.
My one complaint about the movie: I heard a lot of modern slang in the movie. The movie takes place in the 40s. I am hearing 90's phrases. ::rolls up a newspaper and swats the script-writers:: Bad!
