Wow, ended with Luffy realizing Ace was in trouble. The biblicard should still move towards ace. So are we headed for an Ace rescue mission next?

Perhaps Lolas mother is the final Yonkou. It would be interesting if that was the the case.

We'll see either what the Strawhats plan to do or perhaps we'll see Ace in Impel Down.

I hope they find out they have awhile before Ace dies and decide to goto Merman island anyways. I've been waiting to see it because it's supposedly under water isn't it?

Correct me if I am wrong, but Impel down is an undersea prison right?
Maybe during the course of the Mermaid Island arc they are taken to Impel down and meet Ace when their is only a small portion of his life remaing.

I honestly don't think they can go into Impel Down by themselves and save Ace. I wonder if it will be a coalition between Shanks, Whitebeard and the Straw Hats.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Impel Down in the Marine HQ or near it?

I think there may be a coalition between red-haired and straw-hats against whitebeard. But, in the end, it'll be pirates vs. government.

I sincerely hope Ace doesn't die.

That's very probable with Whitebeard and Shanks fighting, even though we don't know the outcome of that fight. It's very likely that they will be enemies from now on.

I wonder what Luffy would do if Whitebeard actually defeated/killed Shanks, that would be a big turning point in the manga. At least that's what I think.

:focus: Thinking back on this there might be a mini coalition between the Strawhats and Whitebeard. The only reason Shanks asked Whitebeard to stop Ace is because Shanks wanted to kill Blackbeard himself, or at least that's what I got from the altercation. But 95% of this leads to Rescue Ace arc, unless mermaid island is on the way and the log post only takes 1-3 days to set.

I think next to die is the merman shikukbudai (idk spelling). I hope the manga doesn't keep on replacing them, as there is no point in that.

Where was it stated that there is a Shichibukai in merman island? I don't recall anything like that being mentioned, maybe I should reread some of the latest arcs.

I do agree that Shichibukai can't be taken down and replaced one by one, that will get too boring. But it would be interesting if one of the Yonkou would be killed and one of them replaced.

Where was it stated that there is a Shichibukai in merman island? I don't recall anything like that being mentioned, maybe I should reread some of the latest arcs.I don't remember exactly where, but it was mentioned somewhere in the beginning of Arlong Arc ... Jimbei was a fishmen pirate but he left when he became a SB ... so maybe he is there or maybe not ...




BTW, its strange isn't it, Fishmen island is an underwater city and Impel down is an underwater prison ... could they be related? ...

I know it's not likely, but it would be an interesting twist to things. But I don't think the Shichibukai should be the only ones to be killed, which is why I thought it's maybe time for one of the Yankou to be killed/defeated and get replaced (or not).

But we haven't seen the other two Yankou so it's not likely that they would be killed off without them being introduced, although one was mentioned, the other one we haven't seen.

I know that right now its time for the Yonkou's, but i can't see many yonkou's dying either ... Iff Shanks have already killed Whitebeard, here goes one and probably one more, Kaidou ... And if Lola's mother is also a SB then i can't see her dying either ...

We still don't know the outcome of the Whitebeard/Shanks duel. I think one or the other should be killed. I don't think a draw in that situation would progress the story line.

It would be boring for them to start a duel only to show a flashback later on of how powerful both of them are without one of them dying. Sorry, I wanna see someone dead after that duel.

As samnas said though, if either one of them dies it will probably be Whitebeard since Luffy needs to meet Shanks.

Don't know if someone said/thought about this already... But for some reason I see a flashback to the Ace/Blackbeard fight in the coming chapter or so.

Good point. Most of the Sichibukai we've seen so far have deviil fruit powers, so I wonder if Jimbei also has a devil fruit power and him being a merman isn't phased by the negative effects of the fruit.

But I think Jimbei needs to be stronger than Arlong. If they were the same level that would be too easy as you said... I would be very disappointed and bored as far as the Shichibukai are concerned.

I think they were thinking a little higher on the food chain as in Whitebeard. He thinks of all of his crew as family and this could be a ploy to get him in a situation to get rid of one of the strongest pirates in the world.

Getting rid of whitebeard, i don't think the world govt would do that, yonkou is one of the balancing force, it would disrupt the balance if one of them is killed or captured ...

I think the balance the WG prizes so much is to keep the Yonkou in check. If they were to eliminate the Yonkou them they could probably control the New World.

Just 4 yonkou's are ruling over the New World and are against the WG + SB ... This tells us that how much powerful the yonkou's actually are ...

Its true that the WG may get control over the New World after eliminating the yonkou's, but they have to pay for it ... They may lose their some or most of their SB's, alot of WG marines, etc ...

True and if the WG lost a large portion of their military power in such a battle the revolutionaries would probably topple them.

Though if Luffy keeps taking out the Shichibukai then the WG will be in a good deal of trouble.

Those pics due support the script mentioned before. So I'll assume it's real even though it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Things are going to get interesting. I wonder if that mermaid (Cammie was it? sp?) will be their nakama! If she's like Kokoro (and I think all mermaids are) then she can walk on land too. Luffy, Robin and Chopper wouldn't have to worry about drowning with her around.

Anyone think it's possible? Or at least a temp nakama (like Vivi) until the end of the arc.

Its possible that she could be part of the crew...if i remember correctly Luffy wanted to have a a total of 10 people on his ship so one more would do it. Then again she could just be another character like vivi who needs their help. And honestly now with Brooke on board with Sanji it'd get pretty perverted.

Well i caught it during the anime so its possible this was never stated in the manga but while out trying to recruit Zoro he said he thought 10 people would be good enough for a crew. I never really thought about it till now but their approaching that number.

Wait how can u say Jinbei is weak? You're comparing a shibukai to his subordinate. I think Jinbei is gonna be a lot stronger than Arlong was.

Anyway, it was a pretty cool chapter. Interesting how luffy isn't too worried about Ace considering the bad omen. I think he'll regret that decision in the future but we'll see.
