Keri texted me last night to tell me that she's in the hospital, and she got into a bad car accident..(yeah I know I was freaking out too when I heard >_<) She said that she went flying through the back window of the car, but THANK GOD, her and the other passengers are all alright, and she is hopefully going to be able to go home later today.

She wanted me to send all of her love to everyone (Yeah, everyone, thats right she is SOOOO sweet that even when she's in the hopsital she's still thinking about all of us!) and she hopes to see everyone soon :)

Now guys, while we wait for updates about how she's doing, let's send her all of the love she's sending us tenfold!! =D

hey everyone!!!

sorry to worry you. I was pretty freaked out yesterday and I still haven't fully grasped what happened or how I survived, but I'm back home already and very very sore but no broken bones or serious injuries... I have a bruise on my chin and tailbone, my right arm is fuckered up, and I have glass in my hand, and a slight concussion, but I'm very well and not dead or a vegetable... more like a swollen apple.

Thank you for all your wishes, I had you in my heart and my thoughts. To those who called or texted me, thank you, I appreciated every message I received.

I'll make another post about what happened, tis a long interesting story. And then I am afraid I need to go to bed,I am very tired, dizzy, and sore...

Okay, here's what happened (sorry I don't remember what all I told you Kristi, like what kind of accident it was or anything, I was just kinda in shock at the time)... I'll try to keep it brief:

Was riding back to my college town from our home town with my roommate and her friend. My roommate went to pass another car on the highway and hit a patch of ice and before we knew it, the car began to roll (at least 3 times they say) and I was catapulted from the rear window after I'd estimate the second flip, and the glass had already shattered. I'm guessing my dog who was in the back with me flew out as well. All I remember of this was seeing white and feeling like I was flying for a split second, and then thinking, "Am I going to die? Am I already dead?" and then the impact. Immediately I scrambled to find my roommate and friend to be sure they were okay, but realized that my arm and back were injured and didn't want to take my chances unless I had to--and luckily she came out of the car and running towards me. I was surprised that she was so concerned about me when I was so concerned for her!! And our friend came out of the car, totally unscratched, but worried for us. As I said to Kristi before, if you wanna know what it feels like to fly, it's quick, confusing, and painful--like sex with Azure ^_^

Basically, there was no collision, but the ice is REALLY bad this year and the snow is hard as rock... you can't even tell there is ice on the road half the time. The collision was with the hard snow bank, if anything... and well... the car rolling... lol.

Once I kenw my friends were okay I looked for my dog, who had parted from me and taken off toward the highway. "MARCO! MARCO COME BACK!" didn't work, as he crossed it anyways and only turned to look back once and then trotted off into the cornfield and trees beyond... we still haven't found him but i kept insisting that someone look for him, and everyone thought I was delusional and making up the fact that there was a dog there at all!!!

A woman immediately stopped to help us, as she'd seen me fly out the rear window (this is the only reason I knew this) and flipped out. She brought blankets and her phone and called for an ambulance. Another woman stopped--a nurse, even! and she helped and forced me to stay in place where I was crouched next to my friend (the driver, who had a concussion) until the ambulance arrived. It took forever and it was very cold, but I was in too much shock to realize what was really going on. Later on another guy stopped to help! This is when I realized how blessed I was to have had this happen in a rural area in Iowa and not somewhere in Cali or something. The people here were so helpful and friendly and generous, I wanted to cry.

Once I was laid on the cot my injuries really struck me and so did the situation. Our friend accompanied us to the ER but was fine himself. Once in the ER my clothes were immediately ripped off (nothing new for me here). I had doctors all around me seeing more of me than I've let anyone see in over a year. They didn't even leave my underwear on and they were touchin me all over with no restraint! Took a lot of x-rays... finally one of the girls helped to cover me up some more, showing some sympathy. If I'd known I was going to second base with these guys, I'd have come better prepared.

X-rays found no broken bones... and even though I'm rightfully in a lot of pain my injuries are minor. I'm still really dizzy and tired, and I have glass in my hand and a large bruise on my butt and chin, but I'm very lucky just to be alive. I still dont' believe it myself. The doctors and everyone else just kept saying "You should be dead you know." But someone was on my side...

I find this really hilarious because right before it happened, I was making jokes about Jesus being homosexual. hahaha. No time to pray but plenty of time to make gay Jesus jokes!!!

Moral of the story kids: wear your seatbelt, even if you're in the backseat. You aren't Peter Pan so do not try to fly. Do not be a dumb*ss like I.

Ah ESL that's really an odd story, but I can understand, ice is really bad here as well >_<(if not worse). Sounds like you had a rough flight and you're really really brave and caring for thinking about your friends in that time :) It does sound like a rough event so I'm really glad you got out of there in one piece ^_^. The dog deal was a bit weird though I must admit :p

I slept rather well last night finally, my bed is much more comfortable than the hospital bed. but unfortunately I woke up early from the pain. ugh >_>

Marco still hasn't turned up but we posted fliers all over the town near where the accident happened, hoping word would spread and some nice farmer would turn him over to us. The people of the town were all really friendly and helpful.

Thank you for all of your support and love, but luffles, please do not hurt me any more :(. I'm already quite bruised (wait until you see my bum later). I felt really dumb because I'm usually the first person to put my belt on and order others to. Haha the first thing out of most people's mouths were, "But you ALWAYS wear your seatbelt and make others, even when we're just crossing the street!" And Joanna's excuse was that "Keri usually reminds me!" >.< Honestly don't know why I didn't that time, maybe I was distracted by the dog or my exams or something, I am really kicking myself over this now. But I know a lot of people don't wear their seatbelts in the back seat and now I know that it's actually a lot more damaging there!!! So please urge all your stupid friends about this.

No one pictured it as something that would turn out okay. Actually I was reminded probably 50 times that I should have been dead. And here I escaped with only a few bruises and minor injuries… I was very lucky. But if you want to know what it looked like to see someone fly out of the back of a car, ask the woman that saw me, haha.

Lol it wasn’t normal in any sense. I had someone or something watchin over me… I am still in disbelief but I keep feeling it over and over again, the car flipping and being tossed around in the back, and then flying.

I unfortunately had many a hot doctor and nurse in the ER, and they saw waaaaaaaay too much of me for me to be able to say anything to them lmao. That was the only time I didn’t crack any jokes.

Good guess on the accident but luckily there was no other car, just too much snow and ice. I was in the back seat with my doggie sitting on the driver’s side of the car.

I know I'm putting up a really positive front but i'm honestly still really freaked out about everything and have a lot of pent up emotions. I bombed a test today because I couldn't concentrate. It was really easy too. I knew the material so well.

I'm feeling increasingly dizzy and lightheaded. I think it may be from the loss of blood or a concussion, but whatever it is, the doctors didn't seem to care about it at all while I was in the hospital so I don't know if they'll do anything if I go back now. If it persists I may just have to though.

Other than that, you know, obviously sore, feeling things I didn't feel as much two days ago, but still trying to stay positive. It sucks though, because a big part of me also really just wants to hug someone and cry, but I can't be that person. I'm just really happy to still be here. Though I wish I could concentrate. Would be nice to steal some of Joanna's vicidon I think... she got the good meds...

why are you back in school. you should have def taken off till the weekend especially if you went ot the hospital. tell the professor why you bombed the test and that it was a horrible mistake if you can take a different one or whatever because of what happened. because of the accident you made a bad decision and you should have never taken the test at this time.

Awwwww, I'm sorry to hear this ESL. If you're getting worse then maybe you should head to the hospital. Better to be safe than sorry. Maybe the doctors missed something. Or perhaps you just need to talk to someone.

I know you said you don't want to be that person, but you can't always shut things away. If you need to cry and let things out to get yourself back on track then I say you do that. Otherwise it may turn around down the road and make things worse :(

I wonder if mail is checked often for drugs? My g/f gets norco. They're the equivalent of 1.5 vicodin, but have less tylenol so keep your liver in better shape. She gives me some because they make me feel good, haha. Or you can road trip to San Diego and get some. I think it'd be worth the drive. Then DC and Chido can drive down too ;)

I actually thought she had genuine problems, and tried talking them through with her. But her story's would change on a daily basis.

And she said something about her boyfriend being jealous of her "online husbands" (including me), thats when I decided she wasn't normal, and stopped talking to her. ^_^

good to hear that it wasn't serious Y. Any accident is scary though :/. Will make you nervous to drive again.

I can't wait for the ice to end. this is the worst winter I've ever encountered. snow i don't mind but this ice has been hellish. I have figured out that hell is in fact composed of ice and not fire at all.

I've heard stories of others who were ejected from cars. most cases result in death, and others became either paralyzed or vegetables. So people familiar with exactly what happened to me are really shocked that I made it out with as little as I did, and without anything broken even. It really creeps me out to think that I could be a vegetable or paralyzed right now and never able to come to NC again, lol. All my dreams, gone. :( I think that's why I lived though without any serious injuries... there's something I'm meant to do that I need to be functional for ;).

I went to the ER last night. Was crying from the pain and frustration of not being able to get ahold of anyone that could help me. I finally got through to someone at the hospital and she was very concerned about my headaches and increased pain and dizziness and was shocked that I was not given a catscan, so she insisted that I go to the nearest hospital to have that done right away. There was a lot of further frustrations though and I didn't think I'd be able to get in because no one knew anything about me even thoughshe said she'd called. Well, after doing more walking and investigating, I found out that she had called the ER doctor there and when I called her she was yelling, "no! You need to go to the ER right away! You can't wait for an appointment!" haha. So I was let in soon after, and had that done. luckily nothing serious, no bleeding or fractures, just a concussion and a lot of the symptoms didn't show until later. I was offered vicidon but didn't want to be unable to function and go to class or work, so it wouldn't do anything for me anyway. I just needed something for the pain, that would actually work. So the doctor prescribed me a non narcotic drug that would be stronger than overthecounter stuff I was taking, and I got a nice shot in the ass before I was on my way. As usual, it hurt for awhile but eventually it started to feel really good. ;)

Lol. No the pain went away soon after and If elt a LOT better. So I have this under control now for the most part, i'm jsut really tired and stressed out. had a lot of stress today. way too much stress. everyone wnating something from me. something serious. serious conversation. gahhhh.

thanks to everyone that has shown concern for me. I'll probably be in pain for a long time now, but I'm very happy to just be alive and able to move at all, and it's a miracle that I came away the way I did. And that I got my puppy back that ran away even... i'm so happy to have him back... though he was gone for a week :( and on his own for four days before anyone found him.

please be careful on the ice and always wear a seatbelt and make everyone in the car wear theirs too, even if it isn't your car. If something had happened to Joanna, I would have never forgiven myself...

glad that you are able to give us updates. but take your time, myself and alot have others have said it. rushing to not miss school won't matter if you end up doing damage to yourself later on and have to take out more time to get better properly.

Good to hear that you got the catscan after all, and more so that they found nothing and that you are not in pain any more :)

No big surprise that the pain would go on for a while after such an accident...

You are so awfully busy, i know that there are things that can't wait, but please take care of yourself and get as much rest as you can.
